افسوس ہے پچھلے دنوں ملک کے مشہور نیشنلسٹ خواجہ عبدالمجید صاحب بیرسٹر ایٹ لا کا انتقال ہوگیا۔مرحوم صفِ اوّل کے نیشنلسٹ مسلمان اور قومی کارکن تھے۔ علی گڑھ کے تعلیم یافتہ اوراُس کی تہذیبی روایات کے پورے حامل ہی نہیں بلکہ ترجمان تھے۔برسوں سے مسلم یونیورسٹی کورٹ اوراُس کی اکزیکٹیو کونسل کے بہت بااثر ممبر تھے اوریونیورسٹی کے معاملات میں بڑے جوش وخروش اور سرگرمی سے حصّہ لیتے تھے۔بہت پرانے کانگریسی کارکن تھے اوراس لیے کانگریس کے عمائد اورپنڈت جواہرلال نہرو اورسابق صدر جمہوریہ دونوں خواجہ صاحب کابڑاادب اورلحاظ کرتے تھے مگر حق بات کہنے اورکرنے میں اُنہیں کبھی تامل نہیں ہوتاتھا۔بڑے مخلص،انتہائی وضعدار،شرافت ومروت اوراخلاق ومکارم کا نمونہ تھے، اُن کا دروازہ ہرضرورت مند کے لیے ہروقت کھلارہتا تھا۔ اب ادھربرسوں سے معذور تھے، مگرقومی کاموں میں اس کے باوجود تندہی سے منہمک رہتے تھے۔اب ایسے بزرگ کہاں ملیں گے۔اﷲ تعالیٰ انہیں مغفرت ورحمت کی نعمتوں سے سرفراز فرمائے۔ [جنوری۱۹۶۳ء]

 

The Effect of Married Age on the Health of Mother and Baby in Campalagian District

The determinants of child marriage are triggered by complex social, economic, cultural, political and legal disparities. This research method used a cross sectional study. The research sample was 192 women who were married in 2018-2019 in the Campalagian District. This study aims to determine the effect of the age of marriage on the health of ibn and infants in the District of Campalagian. Chi-square test was used to analyze data. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the age of marriage had an effect on the health of the newborn (p value = 0.003). However, the age of marriage on maternal health during pregnancy, maternal health at delivery, use of contraceptive methods, service standards for birth weight, and support from husbands do not have a significant effect. After conducting bivariate analysis using moderator variables, the results showed that. There is an effect of the age of marriage based on the age of the husband (p value = 0.017) and the husband's education (p value = 0.024) on maternal health at delivery. There is an effect of the age at marriage based on the husband's age (p value = 0.023), the wife's education (p = 0.008), and the husband's education (p = 0.009), on the health of the newborn. It can be concluded that the age of marriage has an effect on the health of the mother and baby and/or if it includes the age and education factors of both the respondent and the partner.

Cooperation and Confrontation in Pakistan-United States Relations During Pervez Musharraf Era

The study analyzes Pakistan-United States relations, which are a combination of confrontation and cooperation. Since independence, the relations between the two States have seen many ups and downs. The purpose of this research is not only to provide an exhaustive historical account of the relations; it also aims at interpreting cooperation and confrontation between the two countries in the broader sense during Musharraf era. The research has focused on how the two countries reached various formal agreements, how the official dialogues were conducted on major issues of bilateral interest, and what impacts it had on the relationship between the two nations. It has also been enquired how the United States policy towards Pakistan changed from confrontation to cooperation after 9/11 attacks. It has also encompassed the economic dependence of Pakistan on the US aid, its social sector’s developments and the need for the US military aid for the balance of power in the region and Pakistan’s national security. The consequences and backlash on Pakistan economy, socio-religious life, and overview of the country’s law and order situation, suggestions to reduce the atmosphere of mistrust and way forward to improve the Pakistan-US relationship between the two independent-sovereign states has also been part of the analysis of the relations. This study includes details regarding the cooperation between the two countries, eradicating terrorism, improving socio-political situation in Afghanistan, removing major irritants between the two countries. Moreover, it considers Pakistan’s response to the situation in Afghanistan, steps taken by Pakistan and the US to resolve the crisis and the consequences, for Pakistan, for becoming an ally of the United States in the war on terrorism. Furthermore, it has also discussed why Pakistan’s decision to provide logistic and intelligence assistance to the US in the war on terrorism was a precautionary measure against being labelled as a terrorist state and an ally of the Taliban by the US. The research has endeavored to carry out an in depth study of Pakistan-US relations and their impact on the policies of both countries. It has also studied the issues relating to some irritants and confrontation between the two countries.
