پروفیسر محمد یونس نگرامی ندوی
یہ خبر سن کر بڑا صدمہ ہوا کہ ۴؍ مارچ کو پروفیسر محمد یونس نگرامی کا انتقال ہوگیا، اناﷲ وانا الیہ راجعون۔ ادھر مہینوں سے ملاقات نہیں ہوئی تھی، لکھنؤ آنے جانے والوں سے ان کی علالت کی خبر ملتی تھی مگر یہ خیال نہیں تھا کہ وہ اتنی جلد رختِ سفر باندھ لیں گے۔
ان کی پیدائش لکھنؤ ضلع کے مردم خیز قصبہ نگرام میں ۱۹۴۱؁ء میں ہوئی تھی، ان کا خاندان علمی و دینی حیثیت سے ممتاز تھا، درس و تدریس، تالیف و تصنیف اور وعظ و ارشاد اس کا طرہ امتیاز تھا۔ ان کے والد مولانا محمد اویس نگرامی ندوی دارالعلوم ندوۃ العلماء لکھنؤ میں شیخ التفسیر تھے۔ وہ دارالمصنفین کے رفیق اور مولانا سید سلیمان ندویؒ کے محبوب تلامذہ میں تھے، ان کی صحبت میں مولانا کے تفسیر و قرآنیات کے ذوق کو بڑی جلا ملی، بعد میں وہ دارالمصنفین کی مجلس انتظامی کے رکن بھی ہوئے۔
پروفیسر محمد یونس نگرامی نے اپنے والد ماجد کے زیر سایہ دارالعلوم ندوۃ العلماء میں تعلیم پائی۔ پھر جامعہ اسلامیہ مدینہ منورہ گئے، لکھنؤ یونیورسٹی سے پی۔ایچ۔ڈی کی ڈگری لی، پہلے یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ عربی میں لکچرر اور اب کئی برس سے پروفیسر ہوگئے تھے۔
ان کا تحقیقی مقالہ ’’ہندوستان میں عربی زبان و ادب‘‘ کے موضوع پر تھا، ان کی دوسری کتب و رسائل کے نام یہ ہیں۔ تھوڑی دیر اہل حق کے ساتھ، خیالات، مثالی خواتین، نماز کیسے پڑھیں، تذکرہ مولانا محمد اویس نگرامی، تقدس حج، خلیجی جنگ وغیرہ۔
ندوہ اور جامعہ اسلامیہ مدینہ منورہ میں تعلیم پانے کی وجہ سے عربی لکھنے کی ان کو اچھی مشق ہوگئی تھی، ندوۃ العلماء کے جریدہ الرائد میں ’’نافذۃ علی الھند‘‘ و (ہندوستان کے دریچے سے) کا مستقل کالم ان ہی کے قلم سے ہوتا تھا، البعث الاسلامی میں بھی ان...

Analysis of Rights of Foetus in the Light of Searah Nabviyah: Comparative Study With Positive Law

The article titled: the rights of foetus in Islamic law, aims at explaining the rights of foetus without discussing different theories of the scholars in this regards. It also defines the foetus and gives literal and technical meanings besides different stages of foetus mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Hadith. The article explains the rights granted to foetus in the lights of serah before birth and these rights are a binding on the concerned people and violation of foetus’ s rights is prohibited and it is a cognizable offence. The article also discusses the attitude of west regarding foetus rights as the western society is totally ignorant about the rights of foetus and their legislation in this regard is contrary and several western laws are causing the violation of foetus’s rights. Thus, the champions of human’s rights are blind to the rights of foetus which is foundation and beginning of human life and first step for the human race. It is that has given these rights to mankind for the first time and informed human being about their rights through the first human’s rights charter given at the time of the Noble Prophet {blessing of Allah and peace be upon him}. This charter is known as the charter of Madina between the Muslims and the Jews. The article concludes: mankind cannot be protected unless the sperm of man is protected and foetus is protected in the womb of the mother from abortion because these are the future of humanity.

Agrobacterium Mediated Transformation and Secondary Metabolite Analysis of Ajuga Bracteosa Wall. Ex. Benth

Ajuga bracteosa is a valuable yet endangered medicinal plant containing many important compounds, including withanolides, phytoecdysteroids, neo-clerodane and iridoid glycosides. These compounds possess a broad spectrum of biological, pharmacological and medicinal properties, but their yield is very low in wild A. bracteosa and chemical synthesis is not viable. The increased demand of natural products for medicinal purposes coupled with the low product yields and supply concerns of plant harvest has renewed interest in large-scale in vitro plant culture technology. A.bracteosa plant was subjected to in vitro culturing with the aim to study the effect of plant growth regulators on somatic embryogenesis for mass production and uniform plantlets for further genetic transformation. Leaf explants cultured on B5 medium containing 1mg/L 1-naphthaleneaceatic acid (NAA) + 0.5 mg/L 6-Benzyl amine purines (BAP) proved to be the most effective combination for somatic embryo induction. Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain GV3101 harboring pPCV002-A and pPCV002-CaMVC was used to obtain transgenic A. bracteosa plants. Transformation efficiency of 38% for rolA gene and 31% for rolC was obtained. Molecular analysis such as PCR and Southern blotting confirmed the integration of the rolA and rolC genes in the putative transgenic lines. The transcripts of these two genes were monitored by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Furthermore, a significant difference in phytochemistry and the pharmacological activities (antioxidant, antibacterial, antiproliferative and antidiabetic) was observed not only between the transgenic and control/untransformed plants but also among the transgenic lines themselves. The rolC transgenic lines in general showed better results compared to rolA. Quantitative analysis of Electro-spray ionization mass spectrometer (ESI-TOF) revealed relatively higher contents of 20 hydroxyecdysone (20-HE) in transgenic plant lines of rolA and rolC compared to control/untransformed plant. Effect of low temperature stress on 20-HE biosynthesis revealed relatively high 20-HE content at 15°C compared to control (25°C). Principal component analysis (PCA) of the metabolic profiles obtained with non-targeted (ESI-MS) approach successfully distinguished the control A. bracteosa from the transgenic rolA and rolC population. Defense related secondary metabolites (tryptophan, mannitol, Cinnamic acid, and Shikimic acid) were identified in transgenic A. bracteosa lines. Taken together, our study suggests that low temperature stress and transformation with rol genes can be used for increased, constant and permanent production of valuable secondary metabolites from A. bracteosa plant.
