سید عدید ؔ(۱۹۶۵ء پ) کا اصل نام تنویر حسین شاہد ہے۔ آپ کھروٹہ سیداں سیالکوٹ میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ایم۔اے اردو گورنمنٹ مرے کالج سیالکوٹ سے کیا۔ ۱۹۸۰ء میں مرے کالج میں آپ حلقہ اربابِ ذوق کے جائنٹ سیکرٹری تھے۔ آپ نے شاعری میں یوسف نیر اور اصغر سودائی سے ابتدائی راہنمائی لی۔ سب سے پہلے مرے کالج کے ادبی رسالے ’’مفکر‘‘ میںآپ کا کلام شائع ہوا۔ ’’بالتحقیق ‘‘ سیالکوٹ اور ’’اخبار جہاں‘‘ لاہور میں بھی ان کا ابتدائی کلام چھپتا رہا۔ (۱۰۹۶) ’’وقت ‘‘ سید عدید کا پہلا شعری مجموعہ ہے۔ جو سیالکوٹ سے ۱۹۸۸ء کو شائع ہوا۔ دوسرا شعری مجموعہ ’’تلاش‘‘۱۹۹۴ء میں شائع ہوا۔ ’’ہم نفس‘‘ تیسرا شعری مجموعہ ہے جو ۱۹۹۵ء میں شائع ہوا۔ آپ کا چوتھا شعری مجموعہ ’’فریب دے کر چلا گیا ہے‘‘ ہے جسے ادیب پبلی کیشنز لاہور نے ۱۹۹۶ء میں شائع کیا۔ ’’محبتوں میں حساب کیا‘‘عدید کا پانچواں شعری مجموعہ ہے جسے الحمد پبلی کیشنز لاہور نے ۱۹۹۸ء میں شائع کیا۔ چھٹا شعری مجموعہ ’’پیاربے اختیار ہوتا ہے‘‘ جسے الحمد پبلی کیشنز لاہور نے ۲۰۰۰ء میں شائع کیا۔ ’’ساتھ تمہار ا اگر ملے‘‘ ساتواں شعری مجموعہ ہے۔ جسے القلم پبلی کیشنز لاہور نے ۲۰۰۶ء میں شائع کیا۔ آٹھواں شعری مجموعہ ’’تیرے بن زندگی‘‘ ہے جسے مراد پبلی کیشنز لاہور نے ۲۰۱۰ء میں شائع کیا۔ اس کے علاوہ ’’وفائیں ساتھ رہتی ہیں‘‘ ،’’گردش‘‘ ،’’تمنادل میں رہتی ہے‘‘، ’’درد کے سمندر میں‘‘،عدید کے زیر طبع کتابوں کے نام ہیں جو جلد شائع ہونے والی ہیں۔کافی مسودے ایسے بھی ہیں جن کے نام ابھی تک تجویز نہیں کیے گئے ہیں۔ نمونے کے طور پر چند اشعار ملاحظہ ہوں:

The Role and Responsibilities of Youth in Islam

Youth is considered to be the backbone of any nation. The level of moral development, civilization and consolidation of authority and potency depends on the morality of its youth. It can be said that nations survive till their ethics live. The question of youth and Islam at present stems from the overwhelming demographic weight of youth and their relatively recent invasion into the public domain, as well as a wave of Islamic revivalism throughout the world. For any society and its future the youth plays vital and integral role both for progress and decline. The reason is that youth can make the future dark or bright through their role as individuals and as active members of society. This paper draws on lively focus group narratives of young Muslims to explore the interactive presentation of Islamic selves. By bringing together young people who practice Islam in different ways, this paper offers a deeper insight into how claims to a universal identity are actively constructed and contested through particular social relationships and interactions in specific structural contexts. The first part of the paper presents introduction of the whole study. Second part gives description about the categories of youth including; pious, deviated and confused. In third part importance of youth in Islam has been highlighted. Fourth part presents social, moral, political situation of Muslim societies in contemporary time. Fifth part gives description of impact of moral, social, and political situation on the minds of young people. Discussion concludes with the responsibilities of youth which is followed by findings and conclusion of the whole discussion. In so doing, the paper takes up recent calls for more research on the personal meaning of Islam as religion for Muslim youth

Exploring the Role of School Leadership in Transforming the School into a Learning Community

School as a learning community is becoming one of the prominent notions in the contemporary efforts of transforming schools into learning centers where all the stakeholders are bounded together by a sense of belongingness and shared purpose of collective learning. A community, on this understanding is a group of people linked by a shared consciousness and shared identity where people are open and honest to each other because, they all see the world in the same way. Here, people develop a shared centre of values, sentiments and beliefs which encourages them to think in terms of "we" rather than "I". To transform a school into such a learning community the school leadership plays a critical role. The function of school leadership is growing complex and perplex in terms of its extensive involvement in the social, moral, educational and technical aspects of the school life. This leadership is considered as the entrance through which the norms, values and beliefs inter into the school milieu and become part of the school culture. Therefore, it becomes indispensable to explore the role of the principal as the school leader in transforming the school into a learning community. This study aimed at exploring the role of the school leadership in transforming a school into a learning community. It further intended to explore the strategies adopted by the school leadership and the challenges faced in transforming the school into a learning community. Within the qualitative research paradigm, the case study method was adopted to better meet the nature and requirements of the study. The research was conducted in a private secondary school in Karachi, Pakistan. The key research participant was the principal of the school whereas, the Vice-Principal, the Academic Coordinator, two subject coordinators, three teachers and a group of students and their parents were included as the secondary participants. This study revealed that the school leadership plays a multidimensional and complex role in creating a collegial school culture for the social, moral and educational development of the students. The school principal establishes collaborative relationships amongst all the stakeholders in order to transform the school into a learning community. He plays his role in providing opportunities for the teachers to enhance their professional growth and learning. Apart from the above, the principal also monitors the activities in order to ensure the effective achievement of targets and establish grounds for future review planning and establishing future target.
