اردو کا سردار چلا گیا
مدت سے اردو کا گلشن صیادوں اور گل چینوں کے نرغے میں ہے، بادِ حوادث بھی اس میں خاک اڑا کر اسے ویرانے میں تبدیل کرنے کے درپے ہے، اردو کے پرانے بادہ کش اٹھتے جارہے ہیں۔ ابھی مجروح ۱؂ سلطان پوری کے غم میں آنسو تھمے نہیں تھے کہ یکم اگست کو اردو کا بہت ممتاز اور قدر آور شخص بین الاقوامی شہرت کا حامل انقلابی شاعر، وسیع النظر ادیب و نقاد، اچھا مقرر و خطیب اور ترقی پسند تحریک کا میرکارواں، سید علی سردار جعفری بھی چل بسا۔ جس کے جانے سے اردو کی دلکش اور رنگارنگ گنگاجمنی تہذیب کا خاتمہ ہوگیا اور اردو دنیا میں ویرانی اور تاریکی چھاگئی، اردو والے بے قرار ہوکر کہہ رہے ہیں:
؂ اس غم کی تلافی کیا ہوگی ، اس درد کا درماں کیا ہوگا
جناب سید علی سردار جعفری کے بزرگ ریاست بلرام پور میں اونچے عہدوں پر فائز تھے۔ اس لئے ان کا خاندان آگرہ سے بلرام پور چلا آیاتھا۔ یہیں نومبر ۱۹۱۳؁ء میں سردار کی ولادت ہوئی اور اعلیٰ تعلیم علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی میں ہوئی، وہ طلبہ کے لیڈر بھی رہے اس وقت ملک میں قومی اور سیاسی سرگرمیاں عروج پر تھیں، ہر طرف سرفروشان وطن نے انگریزوں کے خلاف پرچم بغاوت بلند کر رکھا تھا اور پورا ملک انقلاب کے نعروں اور آزادی کے ترانوں سے گونج رہا تھا۔ سردار بھی اقبال سہیل کا یہ رجز پڑھتے ہوئے، آزادی کے دیوانوں کے لشکر میں جاملے۔
قید غلامی و حیات ننگ ہے، ننگ کائنات

Mپھاڑ کے جیب و آستیں کر علمِ جنوں بلند

Moral Dichotomy: Coetzee’s Stance on Moral Dilemma in Postmodernist Society in Disgrace

Coetzee anticipates the moral dilemma of today's individuals, in order to achieve his aim torevert the current trends in moral philosophy which has marked morality with individual partialities. The morality of self/will has pervaded in the society with substantial philosophical argumentation as well. This research intends to study Dionysian morality in comparison with modern (Appolonian) principles of morality as presented by Coetzee. The research is planned to differentiate the two by presenting their roots with logical reasons; Nietzsche's conception of morality and the need of Freudian repression. In the context of Disgrace Coetzee developed his moral theory through circumstantial justice with such a force that all reasons given by Overman (Übermensch) of Nietzsche fail. The paper will unveil the relationship of power and the need for justice. Coetzee proves the importance of Freudian Repression Theory that makes everybody responsible for the concord in a society. The cultivation of Dionysian concept of life only brings disgrace to man, and such philosophies can only be supported when the individual is in power, vulnerability in the society makes man to understand the value of morality and exercise of proper judicial system. South Africal context of the novel situates the anticipation of Dionysian cult in more understanding way to the audience. To avoid social Darwinism, state institutions should come in action in order to ensure the equal power distribution among the masses. Uneven distribution of power creates only oppressors and victims in the society, which further lead society to chaos. Coetzee proves the importance of circumstantial justice over the institutional justice, as institutional justice can punish only but the transformation of transgressor only takes place with circumstantial justice and for the betterment of society, transformation provides better results than punishment because institutions do create a different power structures that also work to suppress people.

The Nature of Teacher Leadership

The purpose of this study was to explore the nature of teacher leadership in Al-Ikram1 school in Karachi. This study was guided by qualitative research design. Data were collected in a private school in which teacher leadership existed. Face-to-face interviews were conducted, audio-taped, and transcribed. Observation and field notes were recorded and maintained in research notebook. Findings from this study showed that formal and informal teacher leadership existed at Al-Ikram school. Teachers defined the nature of teacher leadership in terms of skillfulness, expertise, confidence, and the ability to influence others. Teachers were empowered to direct their own learning, as they took initiative to form relationships with teacher leaders based on shared experiences, expertise, and availability. These relationships provided support for meaningful interactions to take place. Teacher-teacher leader interactions occured at the classroom level and school level. Classroom-based interactions include shared experiences, availability, curriculum support, instructional support, and collaboration. School-based interactions include shared decision-making. Based on the findings, several ideas are discussed. First, when teachers are encouraged to direct their own learning; they seek out teacher leader peers to improve their instruction. Second, when teachers interact with teacher leaders, they focus on instructional and student improvement. Third, when teachers and teacher leaders collaborate with each other, they experience a sense of collegiality. Fourth, when teachers receive support from their colleagues to take the lead; they feel trusted and valued. Implications for future research and for the principal and the teachers are discussed. Principals should consider creating an environment that cultivates and supports teacher leadership. Teachers can take responsibility for developing themselves as leaders.
