¦ سرمد صہبائی (۱۹۴۵ء پ) کا اصل نام خواجہ سلیم پال ہے۔ آپ سیالکوٹ میں پیدا ہوئے۔(۱۰۵۴) آپ معروف غزل گو شاعر اثر صہبائی کے بیٹے ہیں۔ آپ نے گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور سے ایم ۔اے انگریزی کیا۔ (۱۰۵۵)گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور کی ادبی سر گرمیوں میں سرمدؔ نمایاں رہے۔’’کالج گزٹ‘‘ اور مجلہ ’’راوی‘‘ کے ایڈیٹر اور سوندھی ٹرانسلیشن سو سائٹی کے صدر بھی رہے۔ گورنمنٹ کالج میں ۱۹۶۲ء میں سٹوڈینٹ یونین کے صدر بھی رہے۔ (۱۰۵۶) اردو ادب میں آپ شاعر کے ساتھ ساتھ ڈرامہ نگار کے طور پر بھی جانے جاتے ہیں۔
آپ کا پہلا شعری مجموعہ’’تیسرے پہر کی دستک‘‘ دارالا شاعت لاہور نے ۱۹۷۰ء میں شائع کیا۔ ’’تیسر ے پہر کی دستک‘‘ ایک طویل اور بین الاقوامی نظم ہے۔ یہ نظم تیسری دنیا کے معاشی ،سماجی ،معاشرتی اور اقتصادی مسائل کی ایک جامع دستاویز ہے۔ اس نظم میں سرمد نے مظلوم اقوام کی مکمل طورپر حمایت کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ سرمد کا دوسرا شعری مجموعہ ‘‘ان کہی باتوں کی تھکن‘‘ غزلوں اور نظموں پر مشتمل ہے۔ یہ مجموعہ دارالاشاعت لاہور نے ۱۹۷۶ء میں شائع کیا۔ ’’پل بھر کا بہشت‘‘ سرمدؔ کا تیسرا شعری مجموعہ ہے۔ جسے الحمرا اسلام آباد نے ۲۰۰۸ء میں شائع کیا۔ سیالکوٹ کی مردم خیز زمین اور گھر کے شاعرانہ ماحول کا اثر تھا کہ سرمد صہبائی کی طبع موزوں کا میلان سکول کی تعلیم کے دوران ہی اشعار کی طرف ہوا اور انھوں نے اپنے سکول کے زمانے میں ہی اشعار لکھنے شروع کر دئیے سرمد صہبائی کی ابتدائی شاعری میں وطن کی محبت کا عنصر نمایاں ہے۔اور وہ نوجوانوں کو وطن سے محبت کرنے اور وطن کی خاطرجان قربان کرنے پر اُبھارتے ہیں۔ ان کی ابتدائی نظموں سے اندازہ ہوتا ہے کہ ابتدا میں ان کا رجحان مذہب اور وطن سے محبت کی طرف تھا۔ ان کی نظمیں ’’بچوں کی دنیا‘‘ اور ’’استقلال‘‘رسالے میں شائع ہوتی...
Christians and Muslims interact on a daily basis but as far as their beliefs and practices are concerned, there is a general mutual apprehension, suspicion, stereotyping, mistrust, insulting and even physical confrontations. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to examine how Catholic universities in East Africa can help Christian students and others to rethink their attitudes towards Muslims in view of the official teaching of the Church. The findings from the reviewed formal Christian and Muslim statements show that theological dialogue is valid and necessary for fostering peaceful relations. It therefore urges Catholic universities and other learning institutions to assist students to know more about their own religious traditions and those of others through formal theological training, seminars and provision of reading materials in order to participate effectively in this kind of dialogue.
The strongly continuous semigroups of operators are of great significance due to the fact that these have numerous applications in various areas of science. The qualitative understanding of a complicated deterministic system can be acquired by analyzing the solutions of a related differential equations in terms of these operators. Moreover, the theory of convexity, means, Cauchy means and inequalities has a huge impact in everyday science. Therefore, the pronounced nature of the means and inequalities defined on semigroups of operators, can not be contradicted. This dissertation is a staunch effort to generalize the theory of means and inequalities to the operator semigroups. A new theory of power means is introduced on a C0-group of continuous linear operators. A mean value theorem is proved. Moreover, the Cauchy-type power means on a C0-group of continuous linear operators, are obtained systematically. A Jessen’s type inequality for normalized positive C0-semigroups is obtained. An adjoint of Jessen’s type inequality has also been derived for the corresponding adjoint semigroup, which does not give the analogous results but the behavior is still interesting. Moreover, it is followed by some results regarding exponential convexity of complex structures involving operators from a semigroup. Few applications of Jessen’s type inequality are also presented, yielding the Hölder’s type and Minkowski’s type inequalities for corresponding semigroup. Moreover, a Dresher’s type inequality for two-parameter family of means, is also proved. A Jensen’s and Hermite-Hadamard’s type inequalities are also obtained for a semigroup of positive linear operators and a superquadratic mapping defined on a Banach lattice algebra. The corresponding mean value theorems conduct us to find a new sets of Cauchy’s type means.
