کاکا اسمٰعیل صاحب مرحوم قوم ملت کی ان شخصیتوں میں تھے، جنھوں نے لاکھوں روپیہ کمایا اور لاکھوں قوم و ملت کی راہ میں صرف کیا، ہندوستان کے بہت سے مذہبی و قومی ادارے ان کی فیاضی سے سیراب ہوئے تھے، ایسے محسن قوم کے حالات سے دوسرے ارباب ثروت سبق حاصل کرسکتے ہیں۔ (شاہ معین الدین ندوی)
علاقہ مدراس ضلع نارتھ آرکاٹ کا تاریخی مقام گڑھ آمبور کاکا محمد اسمٰعیل صاحب کا وطن تھا، آپ کے والد کاکا حاجی محمد عمر صاحب ایک دیندار بزرگ، دولتمند تاجر علماء کے عقیدت مند، فیاض اور غریب پرور تھے، دینی اور اصلاحی کاموں میں پیش پیش رہتے تھے، مدراس کی روشن کمپنی جو علم نوازی میں مشہور تھی اور اب بند ہوگئی آپ اس کے ایک رکن تھے، گڑھ آمبور سے متصل اپنے نام کی مناسبت سے عمرآباد نامی ایک گاؤں آباد کیا اور وہیں ایک اعلیٰ دینی درسگاہ و مدرسہ دارالسلام کے نام سے ۱۹۲۴؁ء میں قائم کی چند ہی سال بعد دسمبر ۱۹۲۷؁ء میں آپ کا انتقال ہوگیا، آپ کے بعد آپ کے فرزند اکبر کاکا محمد اسمٰعیل صاحب نے جملہ کاروبار کو نہایت خوبی سے سنبھالا، والد مرحوم کی جملہ خوبیوں کے علاوہ آپ میں اور بھی بہت سے کمالات تھے، علمی اور دینی خدمت کے جذبہ سے سرشار تھے، دولت کا بیشتر حصہ ملی و قومی کاموں میں خرچ کرتے تھے، صاحب دل مخلص، موحد اور متبع سنت تھے، متعدد علمی ادارے بذات خود چلارہے تھے، حسب ذیل ادارے آپ کی یادگار ہیں:

SURVEY ON PARTICIPATION IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM, PERCEPTIONS AND BARRIERS AMONG YOUNG FEMALES

Aims Of Study: In Pakistan, the level of physical inactivity among adults is 26%. This survey aims to determine the participation in structured physical activity among young females and their perception and barriers towards SPA. Methodology: Purposive sampling was used to gather data from young females aged 16-30 in Karachi. Demographics, perception, and barriers were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Pearson chi-square was used to draw associations between qualitative variables. Results: According to a study of 319 participants, more than half did not participate in structured physical activity. Those who did found it beneficial for their health and happiness. Barriers to participation included transportation and gender-specific facilities, but these were not significantly associated with participation. Limitations & Future Implications: The study did not explore variations in physical activity participation among different ethnic, educational, socioeconomic, or occupational groups. Future studies should investigate these factors among both genders to understand perceptions and barriers to structured physical activity across diverse populations. Originality: To promote physical activity among young females and prevent health issues, it's crucial to recognize their understanding of SPA barriers and perceptions and develop appropriate strategies to overcome them. Conclusion: The barriers to structured physical activity had no significant effect on participation among young females. Also, participation in structured physical activity was not affected by marital status, age, and education level.

Applications of Fractional Derivatives in Adaptive Signal Processing Systems

Adaptive algorithms are mostly optimized using integer order derivatives for error minimization. The Least Mean Squares (LMS) and Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptive filters are among the most commonly employed schemes. The LMS algo rithm is simple to implement, has robust tracking performance in nonstationary environments and is less sensitive to floating point precision effects. However, it has the issue of slow convergence especially when the number of weights is large. The RLS achieves faster convergence but is computationally expensive, and prob lematic in nonstationary environments. This study introduces fractional calculus techniques in stochastic gradient algo rithms. In addition to first order derivative, Fractional Order (FO) derivatives are proposed in the optimization of gradient algorithms. Four configurations have been considered based on whether the fractional derivative is applied to the in stantaneous present or posterior error. For evaluation of the FO algorithms, three applications have been considered, that is, (a) adaptive equalization of multi path channels (b) Active Noise Control Systems (ANCS) and (c) tracking of time varying Rayleigh fading sequences. In equalization, both supervised and unsu pervised algorithms are considered. For the supervised case, FO variants of LMS and Normalized LMS (NLMS) are applied in both feed-forward and decision feed back configurations. In the unsupervised case, FO variants of Gordad and con stant modulus algorithms are developed. In ANCS, FO variants of the NLMS, Filtered-x (input) LMS, Modified FxLMS and Filtered-error LMS algorithms are developed. The noises are modelled as binary, Gaussian and impulsive sources characterized by fractional lower order moments. In tracking, the behavior of FO variants is evaluated for nonstationary environments. A Rayleigh channel has also been considered having Doppler frequency shifts of 0.8KHz to 3KHz. The frac tional algorithms are compared with the standard NLMS, RLS and Extended-RLS schemes. The main performance metrics include (1) mean squared error (2) mean squared deviation (3) relative modelling error (4) model accuracy using both frequency and time domain analysis and (5) symbol error rate. The former three performance metrics help compare the convergence speed and steady state performance; the latter two are application specific. Simulation results are shown for different step sizes and fractional orders. It is seen that the fractional variants show superior performance in all the three applications and hold great promise for future use.
