علم الاقتصاد

اردو اور فارسی شاعری کے علاوہ اقبال نثری تصانیف بھی لکھتے رہے۔ ان کی نثری کتب کی بھی بہت اہمیت ہے۔ ان کی پہلی نثری کتاب” علم الاقتصاد“ تھی جو 1904ء میں شائع ہوئی ۔ اقبال اسلامیہ کالج لاہور میں اقتصادیات اور تاریخ پڑھاتے تھے اس وقت معاشیات پر آپ نے اردو میں یہ کتاب لکھی اور خود ہی شائع بھی کروائی ۔اس کتاب کے مقدمہ میں اقبال نے غریبوں ، کسانوں اور ناداروں سے بہت محبت کا اظہار کیا ہے۔ زمینداروں، سرمایہ داروں اور کارخانہ داروں کے ظلم اور ناروا سلوک کا بھی اقبال نے ذکر کیا ہے۔
مقدمے کے آخری جملے میں اقبال نے علامہ شبلی نعمانی کا شکر یہ ادا کیا ہے کیونکہ علامہ شبلی نعمانی نے کتاب کے زبان و بیان کی اصلاح فرمائی تھی۔ اس طرح اقبال کی پہلی کتاب کو علامہ شبلی سے بھی نسبت رہی ہے۔

Transplant and Donation of Organs in Islamic Perspective

Transplantation of organs and its donation is a burning issue of the present time. It has been carried out in different ways for different purposes. No doubt, the medical field has a vital role in serving the human beings by introducing new means of treatments including the transplant of organs. In Islamic point of view the transplantation and donation of human organs is lawful only when it follows the objectives of Shariah. The human dignity is to be maintained in every movement of life. If practicing the transplant leads to human destruction and violation of its prestige and honor or paves the path to kidnapping, bargaining and immorality, then it should be avoided. Donation of organs, under the supervision of strict regulatory authority, will be beneficial. In this article, Islamic perspective on this issue has been brought forth.

Folk Houses in Sindh a Study in Cultural Geography

Sindh has a long and rich cultural history dating back from Mohenjodaro Civilization (2500 B.C.). It has received waves of migrants from northern India, Gujrat, Punjab, Arab countries, Balochistan and other areas. The migrants have been fully absorbed in Sindhi culture. A number of indigenous house types in Sindh have developed. However the Punjabi house type brought by the migrant from East Punjab from 1932 onward has not fully acquired Sindhi imprint. In the wake of invasion of modern architecture the rural houses are likely to undergo changes. Therefore the study of folk houses in Sindh has become important.
