Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial connectivity standard that provides easy connection between all sorts of peripherals and host computer. Main purpose behind the development of USB standard is to replace many varieties of parallel and serial ports.USB 2.0 is the current serial connectivity solution that supports transfer rates up to 480 Mbps. With the development of USB 3.0 enabled products, this transfer rate will soon increase to 4.8 Gbps, tenfold higher transfer rate over USB 2.0. USB 3.0 (also branded as USB SuperSpeed) will be the next version of the Universal Serial Bus family. The goal of this research is to define and develop the macro-architecture and then micro-architecture (independent of languages) for the USB 3.0 host controller soft IP core. USB 3.0 is very current standard. Its technical specification revisions 1.0 released in November 2008. Standard define new dual-bus architecture that is fully compatible with USB 2.0. It offers more than 10 % high speed over USB 2.0?s and better power saving mechanism. Due to its complexity designing the architectural specification from technical specification will be a great challenge. Because of high speed and high performance, low power consumption would be a crucial design concern. The next optional step of this research would be the optimization of this architecture for power and speed. Once it has been done and verified according to given SuperSpeed USB technical specifications, optimization techniques would be applied to produce low power and highly efficient core for USB 3.0. Future work includes implementation and simulations of the host controller IP core. The architecture and the micro-architecture developed for this project will result in development of commercial soft IP core. It will serve as bases for creating several other products.

Concept of Tolerance in Islam for Promotion of Human Unity

Islam is a divine religion. It is based on divine revelation and Sunnah of the Holy prophet (SAW). Tolerance, patience, forbearing and broadmindedness are the hallmarks of the last divine religion, Islam. In the article the ideology of co-existence has been discussed. Verses of the Holy book indicate importance of the tolerance. Similarly some events out of the Seerah of the Holy prophet (SAW) have been mentioned as references. In these pages it is impossible to explain scope of the subject; however efforts have been made to elaborate the Islamic perspective of tolerance. May Allah Almighty enable all of us to follow teachings of Islam in true spirit.

Autonomous Weapons and Their Compliance with International Humanitarian Law

This research will firstly, try to analyze as well try to bring light on the recent entry of autonomous weapons together with the issues pertaining to the usage of these lethal weapons and the compliance of these A.I based fully autonomous weapons with the laws, rules and principle of war including their compliance with international humanitarian law. These weapons are fully automatic and autonomous skilled with acquiring target without human emotion or cultural limitations. These weapons are capable of selecting the target and executing the targets on their own, without any human interference. It can be enabled to assess the situational setting on a combat zone and to make a decision on the required attack according to the processed information. These artificial intelligence-based weapons totally lack all the characteristic of human intelligence and decisions that make humans subject and accountable to rules and norms. Recently, the usage and deployment of these AI machines had posed threat to the norms and principle of laws of war, they have posed the fundamental challenge to the protection of civilians and to comply with the principle of international humanitarian law such as principle of distinction, principle of proportionality, principle of Military Necessity and Article 36 of additional protocol-I to Geneva conventions of 1949 etc. As autonomous weapons are not able to distinguish between soldiers and civilians they create a serious issue of whether they should be banned or not. Secondly, will tryto attempt and explain the question of responsibility for usingautonomous weapons, An autonomous weapon does not have agency, moral or otherwise, and subsequently cannot be held accountable for its actions. Moreover, if autonomous weapons were used in limited situations in the belief that they could function with discrimination, it would be problematic to choose exactly who was accountable for mishaps
