The study aimed to investigate the mediating role of job stress on relationship of job demand and work-life balance of nurses working in Multan, Pakistan. The study is based on the review of existing literature and collection of data through self-administered questionnaire. Sample was selected from nurses working within Multan by using convenience and snowball sampling techniques of non-probability sampling. This is a cross-sectional study as data is collected form the respondents at one specific point in time. A total of 134 questionnaires in English and Urdu were distributed in sample using convenience and snowball sampling and asked personally to fill the questionnaires; all the respondents returned the questionnaires. The results showed that most of the nurses working in Multan are young, single and well-qualified. All the three variables are positively correlated to each other. The mediation model presented by Baron and Kenny (1986) is applied and tested by hierarchical regression analysis. The mediation is checked by two models: in model no.1 job demand predicted work-life balance and in model no.2 both job demand and job stress predicted work-life balance. The regression analysis showed that both job demand and job stress brought change in work-life balance and increase of 19.9% is noticed in model no.2 after addition of job stress. As hypothesized, the job demand though affects the work-life balance of nurses but when the job becomes more demanding it creates job stress which more adversely affects the work-life balance of nurses. The results are applicable to the nurses working in Multan. Future research may further study the issue by enhancing the sample size and by adding other variables such as ?staff morale? and ?workplace environment?. The practical suggestions include implementation of results to reduce the level of stress in nurses and improve their existing conditions.

Many western scholars have tried to interpret the Holy Qur’an into other languages of the world. William Montgomery Watt and Robert Spencer are included in the list of those commentators of the Qur’an who have presented their Quranic commentary in English language. But while interpreting the verses of the Holy Qur’an about the life, character and teachings of the Holy Prophet both the scholars have fabricated the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the interpretation of both western writers about the verses of Sūrah al-Aḥzāb in which the necessary information about the marriage of Prophet Muhammad with Hazrat Zainab has been discussed. Through the text analysis method and comparative and analytical approach, this article has raised some of the errors and propaganda elements found in the commentaries of both the Western scholars. The article proves that the writings of Western scholars like this need to be refined and scrutinized carefully in maintaining the sanctity of Islam and respecting the rights of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This paper concludes that all such allegations are either based on fabricated historical reports or false interpretations and misunderstanding of the facts.

Plant Mediated Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Evaluation of Silver Nanoparticles Using Aqueous Extract S from Leaves of Agave Americana, Mentha Spicata and Mangifera Indica

Green silver nanoparticles were biosynthesized utilizing aqueous leaves extracts of Agave americana, Mangifera indica and Mentha spicata plants due to presence of pre-eminent reducing and stabilizing phytochemicals. These biocompatible nanostructures were purified, optimized and characterized as mildly neutral, polycrystalline, monodispersed and thermally sensitive compounds owing predominantly spherical shape and 30–150 nm diameter. Biological/ pharmacological analysis in comparison to crude ethanolic, methanolic, aqueous and acetone leaves extracts evinced stupendous antibacterial activity against all pathogenic experimental bacteria particularly E.coli and MRSA. Evaluated MIC values for AgNPs and crude leaves extracts against experimental bacteria lies in the range of 40–320 μL. Green AgNPs remarkably inhibited the growth of all test fungal mycelia while moderate fungal growth inhibition was demonstrated by crude leaves extracts. Good anticancer activity was demonstrated by A. americana AgNPs (69%) and acetone extracts (78%) while remaining AgNPs and extracts moderately inhibited prostrate tumor proliferation. Robust antioxidant activity was demonstrated by AgNPs and crude leaves extracts at highest sample concentration of 300 μL. In parallel, significantly exalted cytotoxic, phytotoxic, anti-termite, insecticidal activity was exhibited by bioinspired AgNPs and crude leaves extracts at highest sample concentration of 1000 μL. Moderate enzyme inhibition was manifested against acetylcholine esterase and urease. Finally absence of phyto-glutinins was evinced by negative hemagglutination reactions.
