یکم جنوری کو ۸ بجے شب دارالمصنفین کے ایک بڑے ہمدرد اور ہر وقت کے حاضر باش ڈاکٹر محمد طاہر صدر شعبۂ اردو شبلی نیشنل پوسٹ گریجویٹ کالج انتقال کرگئے، ابھی ان کی عمر ۵۰ برس ہی کی رہی ہوگی لیکن انہوں نے اپنی صلاحیت و ذہانت کے جو نمونے چھوڑے وہ برابر یاد کئے جائیں گے، انہیں تحریر وتقریر دونوں کا ملکہ تھا، پہلی مرتبہ علامہ شبلی کی تاریخِ ولادت کا تعین اپنے ایک مضمون میں کیا جو ’’نیا دور‘‘ لکھنؤ میں شائع ہوا، مگر ان کی زیادہ توجہ انتظامی امور کی طرف ہو گئی تھی جس کا انہیں بہت اچھا سلیقہ تھا، اب ان کی سر گرمیوں کا خاص میدان سرسید انٹر کالج صبرحد تھا جس کو پہلے ہائی اسکول اور پھر انٹر کالج بنوایا، اسے ڈگری کالج بنانے کے لئے جان توڑ کوشش کررہے تھے کہ وقتِ موعود آگیا، دارالمصنفین کے ہر کام میں آگے آگے رہتے تھے، اسلام اور مستشرقین کے موضوع پر یہاں ہونے والے بین الاقوامی سیمینار کے شرکاء کے طعام کی ذمہ داری جس حسن و خوبی سے انجام دی اس کا اعتراف جناب سید صباح الدین عبدالرحمن مرحوم برابر کرتے تھے، ان سے اور شاہ معین الدین احمد ندوی مرحوم کے علاوہ اس خاکسار سے بڑا مخلصانہ تعلق رکھتے تھے، اﷲتعالیٰ ان کی بشری لغزشوں کو معاف کرے اور ان کی مغفرت فرمائے اور ان کے اعزہ خصوصاً بیوہ اور دونوں کم سن بچوں کو صبرِ جمیل عطا فرمائے۔ آمین! Spending in the cause of Allh is one of the most important ways for the welfare of society and all the divine books agreed about its vital role in the betterment of human lives. But it is obvious from Quraan that not everyone has capacity for it but only those who are saved from stinginess: And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful. (Al-Hashr: 09) It is also very relevant question in this regard that what should be spent? And how and where should be spent? Hence only that type of spending which is according to the need of time is worthy to be called as best use of it, as Prophet (Peace be upon Him) pointed out to the charity of water when Saad ibn e ubadah asked him about the best mean of charity after the death of his mother and people were in urgent need of water. So it is clear that the one who intended to charity must have the actual and original idea about the demand of those who are in crises and then he should decide to arrange the appropriate means in this regard. We found crystal clear indications in the seerat ur rasool (Peace be upon Him) about the appropriate spending in accordance with the demands of current time like the encouraging the release of slaves especially in the Makkah and the treaty of brotherhood among the immigrants and the ansaar and promoting the building of prophetic mosque and preparing the army for battles and promising the abode in paradise in response. This article deals with role of charity in welfare of current society by the proper means and ways, some of the important points are as follows: 1. Introduction. 2. Importance of Infaq in Quraan and Sunnah. 3. Examples of charity in accordance with the demands of society in light of seerah. 4. Charity endowments and its role in the well-being of society in the light of fiqh us seerah. 5. The needs of contemporary society and the role of Charity endowments. 6. Pre-protection from negativity, because prevention is better than cure. 7. Recommendations or proposals for proper expenditure
The identification of toxic metals in Macrofungus species diverted the attention of the researchers for the development of remediation models. Mushrooms represent an important food commodity cultivated in different parts of the world. 51The present study is designed to exploit the property of metal accumulation in the chitin wall of Mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) for the development of biocomposite. A series of novel composites are prepared using calcium alginate, silica and alumina separately and in combination of 10:1 with Macrofungus. Each composite is characterized through FTIR, SEM and EDX to determine the surface and bulk characteristics. The 66FTIR analysis revealed –CH, C–O–C (sugar), C= O conjugation and –NH functional groups confirming the proteinaceous nature of Macrofungus. SEM and EDX also confirm the successful preparation showing significant elemental composition of Ca, Si, and Al in respective composites. BET analysis indicated higher surface area for inorganic precursors (SiO2 and Al2O3) than organic moiety (calcium alginate). The prepared composites are applied as 64adsorbents in batch mode for the removal of three selected metals (Lead, Cadmium and Chromium) also known as cumulative poisons. For adsorption experiments, optimization of pH is also attempted. The results are encouraging showing optimum removal of 99% during contact of 45 minutes between the adsorbate and adsorbent. It is also noted that functionalized composites (FMF, FMFSi, FMFAl, FMFSiAl) show relatively less adsorption of metals likely due to stabilizing effect of inorganic precursors (Silica and alumina) and immobilization of Macrofungus by calcium alginate. The metal removal follow the sequence Cr>Cd>Pb in accordance with position of elements in the periodic table. Kinetics and isotherms were applied for each metal and each adsorbent. 49Freundlich and Temkin isotherms fitted best to the adsorption data. The study recommends that the prepared biocomposites can effectively be applied as remediation model 61for the removal of metals and other pollutants as well.
