Everyone has a distinct style of thinking and learning. Because of individual differences, the cognitive learning style of every individual is different. Cognition explains an individual''s usual mode of perceiving, thinking, remembering, or solving problem. Cognitive learning style is typically explained as a personality aspect which influences values, social interaction, and attitude. Researches have revealed that cognitive learning styles and attitude are joint contributors to behavior. This study was designed to understand, identify and compare cognitive learning styles and science related attitude of undergraduate science students, to compare science related attitudes of science students with respect to cognitive learning styles, to find relationship of cognitive learning styles with science related attitude and academic achievement, to find relationship between science related attitude and academic achievement of undergraduate science students. The population of the study consisted of all undergraduate science students of basic sciences (physics, mathematics, and bio sciences), computer sciences, and engineering sciences (electrical and computer engineering) of public and private sector universities/Degree Awarding Institutes of Islamabad. For sample selection, stratified random sampling was used. The data was collected using demographic inventory, Hidden Figure Test (SHAPES) and convergent/divergent test. A self-developed science related attitude questionnaire was used to identify student’s science related attitude. The academic results of students were obtained from the respective universities/Degree awarding institutes. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used for data analysis. The hypotheses were tested using Chi-Square and t-tests at 5 percent level of significance. Results were presented in tabular and graphical form. The findings revealed that Field-Dependent and convergent cognitive learning style have been found the most prevailing cognitive learning styles of science students at undergraduate level. Moreover the Field-Independent and divergent learners have more science related attitude and academic achievement than other learners. The findings also revealed that cognitive learning styles have positive relationship with science related attitude and academic achievement. It has been recommended that teachers must use varied teaching methods and provide academic and career guidance to the students so that they can be motivated to develop more positive science related attitude towards the study of science and may improve their academic achievement.

سیرت طیبہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا عدلیاتی پہلو: ایک تحقیقی جائزہ A Research Review of the Prophetic Justiceﷺ

Islam is a religion of peace and it has provided a strong system of justice for the establishment of peace and order, the practical picture of which is available to the Muslim Ummah in the form of Sira-e-Taiba of the Holy Prophetﷺ. On which the seal of beauty has been recorded by Allah Himself. Therefore, the system of justice of Islam can be used only when the solution of all issues is sought from Sira-e-Taiba because Heﷺ has eliminated the distinction between rich and poor in the supremacy of law. The Holy Prophet ﷺ has set great and enlightening examples of justice for humanity, the pursuit of which leads to peace and tranquility of social life. In his Supreme Court, the Qur'an and Sunnah and consensus and analogy were of fundamental importance. In the Qur'an and Hadith, Sira-e-Taiba had the status of Shāri' and Legislator, while in consensus and speculation, Sira-e-Taiba has promoted thinking and counseling. The center and axis of Islamic law is your caste. He ﷺ has established justice, supremacy, and law in every field of worship, affairs, disputes, and crime. Therefore, in this article, the judicial aspect of His ﷺ Sira-e-Taiba has been explained in the light of the Qur'an and Hadith, the Sahabah and the followers, and the edicts of the Imams and jurists.

Exploring Leadership and Management Practices of District Education Officers in the Context of Azad Jammu &Amp; Kashmir

The purpose of this study was to explore and understand the leadership and management practices of in-service District Education Officers (DEOs) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K). The study explored the roles and responsibilities of the DEOs and the factors which foster or hinder them to perform their roles and responsibilities. It also explored the adopted strategies of the DEOs which maximize their fostering factors and minimize their hindering factors to perform their roles and responsibilities effectively. The study was carried out through exploratory case study method within the qualitative research design to undertake intense, holistic and a complete picture of the DEOs leadership and management practices. In depth leadership and management practices of the DEOs were explored through understanding their challenges and their adopted techniques to overcome the challenges. It was found that initiating improvement processes, facilitating academic activities, and providing human and material resources to their jurisdiction schools are the major responsibilities of the DEOs. The DEOs are fostered by their co-workers, their learnt leadership and management skills, their peers, and some of their super ordinates in performing their roles and responsibilities. The DEOs are hindered by some politicians of the context, lack of human and material resources in their jurisdiction schools, and their administrative workload in performing their roles and responsibilities effectively. The strategies taken by the officers to overcome their hindrances are: providing moral and legal support to the field officers of their jurisdiction schools, try to satisfy the politicians of the context with reference of rules, and being patient when they face hardships while performing their roles and responsibilities. This is a pioneer study of AJ&K context. It will contribute new knowledge to the existing body of educational leadership literature. It will also help the researcher and the research participants to perform their roles and responsibilities in a better way. In addition; it will motivate the policy makers of AJ&K to facilitate the DEOs of AJ&K in performing their roles and responsibilities more effectively.
