The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice at secondary level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In professional knowledge teachers‟ know their subject contents and how to teach those contents to their students. Teachers also focus on the action or process of teaching as well as the knowledge and skills gained through experience. Objectives of the study were: (i) To investigate the teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice at secondary level; (ii) To examine the factors that affect the teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice at secondary level; (iii) To find out what are the difficulties in the implementation of teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice; and (iv) To compare the views of working teachers and prospective teachers regarding teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice. For achieving the objectives of the study the following null hypotheses were tested; (i) There is no significant difference between teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice; (ii) There is no significant effect of environmental factors on teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice; (iii) There is no significant difference between difficulties and teachers‟ professional knowledge, its practices and implementation; and (iv) There is no significant difference between the views of working teachers and prospective teachers regarding teachers‟ professional knowledge and its practice. The population of the study was comprised of all the 210 prospective teachers who were enrolled as students of B.Ed (130) and M.Ed (80) in Northern University Nowshera (NUN) and all the 18683 (SST) male teachers at secondary level of Government Secondary Schools in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A convenient sample of 105 prospective teachers from Northern University Nowshera (NUN) and 600 male working teachers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were selected through convenient sampling technique. The data were collected from xviii B.Ed and M.Ed classes of Northern University Nowshera (NUN) and from five Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: D.I.khan, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera and Swabi. Three point questionnaires were used as research instrument for collection of data from the sample teachers. Chi-square technique was used to analyze the data statistically. The study was significant for all stakeholders in education including teachers, students, educational authorities and policy makers.

اطہرؔ صدیقی

اطہرؔ صدیقی(۱۹۳۵ء۔پ) کا اصل نام محمدیسیٰن صدیقی اور اطہرؔ تخلص کرتے تھے۔ آپ چوہان حال برہان پور تحصیل پسرور میں پیدا ہوئے۔ آپ معروف شاعر پروفیسر حفیظ صدیقی کے بھائی تھے۔ حفیظ صدیقی کی راہنمائی میں اطہر نے زمانہ طالب علمی میں شاعری کا آغاز کیا تو ان کا کلام ملک کے معروف ادبی رسائل و جرائد میں شائع ہونے لگا۔(۹۱۶)

اطہرؔ کا پہلا شعری مجموعہ’’ کاکل غم‘‘ غزلوں اور نظموں پر مشتمل ہے جو۱۹۸۷ء میں شائع ہوا۔دوسرامجموعہ کلام’’ذوق سفر‘‘ کے نام سے ۱۹۸۹ء میں صدیقی پبلی کیشنز لاہور سے طبع ہوا۔ یہ مجموعہ غزلیات پر مشتمل ہے۔ تیسرا شعری مجموعہ’’آبرؤے غم‘‘۱۹۹۰ء میں صدیقی پبلی کیشنز لاہور سے شائع ہوا۔ یہ مجموعہ بھی غزلیات پر مشتمل ہے۔ چوتھا شعری مجموعہ ’’گردِ مسافت‘‘غزلیات اور نظموں پر مشتمل ہے۔

اطہر ؔصدیقی کی شاعری کا بڑا موضوع عظمت انسان ہے ۔وہ اپنی شاعری میں حضور ؐ کی ذات اقدس کے شیدائی نظر آتے ہیں۔ ان کے نزدیک حضرت محمدؐ کی ہستی عظمت انسان کی علامت ہے۔ اور وہی مثالیِانسان کا نمونہ ہیں۔انھوں نے نعت میں ہی نہیں بلکہ اپنی نظم اور غزل میں بھی عظمتِ انسان کی حقیقت کا اظہار کیا ہے:

ذرے ذرے سے پوچھ دیکھا ہے

 

-دشت در دشت کون رہتا ہے

 

5کون رہتا ہے لا مکاں میں اب

 

3کس کی رعنائیوں کا چرچا ہے

Kafa'at is a term used in the field of Islamic jurisprudence which means equivalence and closeness between the expected spouse i.e. Male and female in specific area. So it may be defined as the compatibility or equivalence between the expected husband and his expected wife which have to be adhered to in future. This compatibility standard suggested by Islam is highly effective, that include religion, profession, wealth, lineage, moral and social standard. The Hanafi, the Shaft’s and the Hanbali schools concur in requiring kafa'at in religion (Islam), freedom (i.e. In his not being a slave), profession and lineage. These schools differ regarding kafa'at in wealth. The Hanafi and the Hanbali schools recognize it, while the Shaft’s school does not. The Maliki School do not accept the notion of kafa'at except in religion. The emphases of this Kafa'at are to make the spouse relation pleasant, everlasting and coherences. The alikeness suggested by Islam between male and female is also traditional and logical value which Islam highly encouraged. The hidden philosophy of Kafa'at is to build the relation between the expected spouses more effective and pleasant.

Intelligent Gender Identification Using Diverse Facial Features in Different Conditions

Humans can effortlessly determine the gender of other person. This has stimulated interest to enable computer machine of accurate guessing the human faces as male or female. Major problems in face classification are due to the large variance in appearance in a digital image when it is captured / exposed to different lightning and unfamiliar pose. Gender classification has an extensive usage in numerous problems and domains. Automated gender classification is an area of great significance and has huge impact and potential for future research. Its use is significant in several industrial applications such as monitoring, security, surveillance, biometrics, commercial profiling and human computer interaction. Gender has been identified using different traits like gait, iris and hand shape but a major and significant work has been carried out based on face. Main emphasis of this research work is critical assessment of different methods used in Gender Classification and highlighting favorable and unfavorable factors of these existing techniques. In next sections methodologies have been presented for efficient gender classification in still images and animated videos and over smart phones. Schemes have been presented for these diverse medium of digital image processing. We have conducted experiments to identify gender for the comparisons purpose for both areas of focus i.e. consumer face images captured run-time and fictional characters in animated movies. Flow of work, implementation of proposed classification methodology and learning algorithm is part of this thesis. Main modules of Gender Classification task are image acquisition, face detection, image normalization, feature extraction and classification. Every task has been thoroughly iii investigated with state of art methods and then final modeling is proposed, implemented and tested.
