The purpose of this dissertation is to explore critical paradoxes related to abusive supervision in organizations, which is divided into two types: impulsive abusive supervision, and strategic abusive supervision. After validating these types of abusive supervision empirically, this study also investigates the impact at the individual level outcomes, i.e., employee morale. Drawing from ego depletion theory, proposed theoretical extension comprises a mediation model of a supervisors related antecedents as predictors of abusive supervision. This dissertation introduces self-regulatory resource (ego) depletion stemming from a supervisors related theoretical perspective on how and why supervisors behave abusively toward subordinates. A two-model investigation related to antecedents of abusive supervision and the employees related consequences stands in divergence to prior research, which has primarily focused on individual-related factors that a ect abusive supervision. This research demonstrates in what ways ego depletion is proximally associated with abusive supervision. In therst model, conducted at service sector of Pakistan, it was argued that a supervisors related antecedents in uences them to endorse strategic abusive behaviors through less ego depletion and the predictor explored in uences supervisors to enact impulsive abusive behaviors due to high ego depletion. In study 2, this dissertation investigated the impact of impulsive abusive supervision, and strategic abusive supervision on employees related outcomes (i.e. job stress) via employees morale. Data was collected through the survey based lagged design by using a purposive sampling technique and M plus for multilevel analysis. Using a sample of 503 supervisorsubordinate dyads, after receiving con rmation, both the models were tested (Multi-level modelling), both between and within level results were reported. Supervisors positive paranoia, Supervisors positive perfectionism, and Supervisors a ective commitment were only found insigni cant. All other variables were signi cant. And in study 2 all the proposed relationships related to strategic abusive supervision were proved empirically. This study opens new avenues for research and discusses practical implications for various work settings.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: A Case Study Of Internal Security Challenge Faced by Pakistan

The strongest and most crucial strategic and economic links in the south Asian region are the friendships between Pakistan and China. China and Pakistan assert that the people who live on either side of the Himalayas have interacted with one another in a trustworthy and sincere manner from ancient times. Chinese investment in the CPEC represents the greatest sum (62 billion dollars) ever between two friendly nations. China and Pakistan are dealing with numerous internal and external security challenges as a result of their strong friendship and significant investment in this project. Both nations, such as India and Afghanistan, are posing security problems to Pakistan, which has several security issues. The USA, India, the UK, and Israel are also causing strife and tension in Pakistan. These nations are also causing internal problems by sponsoring terrorist organizations like the Taliban and ISIS as well as nationalist organizations like the Baloch, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, and Sipah Muhammad. The challenges to Pakistan's internal security are discussed in this study.

Diagnostic Value of Complementary Strain Elastography in the Classification of Breast Masses

Background: Breast cancer is the commonest cancer in women. Ultrasound has a high sensitivity but low specificity in the classification of benign and malignant breast masses. Strain elastography has the potential of increasing the specificity of breast ultrasound in classifying malignant and benign breast masses and reducing the number of benign breast biopsies performed. The diagnostic value of breast elastography in African women is not known. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the additive diagnostic value of strain elastography to conventional ultrasound in the classification of malignant and benign breast masses in an African population. Materials and Methods: This prospective study was carried out between August and December 2016 in the Radiology Department, Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. Conventional ultrasound and strain elastography were carried out in 74 breast masses. Histology was used as the refence standard. Mean elasticity scores were compared for malignant and benign masses using the two-sample t test. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) for conventional ultrasound, elasticity score, length ratio and combined method were calculated. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was also performed. Results: The mean elasticity score of malignant and benign masses was 4.29 (±0.750) and 2.05 (±0.916) respectively. The difference in the mean values was statistically significant (P<0.0001). The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) were 97.1%, 71.8%, 75.6% and 96.6% respectively, for conventional ultrasound and 97.1%, 92.3%, 91.9% and 97.3% respectively, for combined method. Combining elasticity score with conventional ultrasound resulted in a significant increase in the specificity (P value = 0.0012) and PPV (P value = 0.0074) compared to conventional ultrasound alone. The sensitivity and specificity of length ratio was 94.3% and 92.3% respectively compared to 94.3% and 89.7% respectively for elasticity score. Conclusion: Adding strain elastography to conventional ultrasound significantly improves the specificity and positive predictive value in classifying malignant and benign breast masses in the African population. There was no significant difference between elasticity score and the length ratio.
