This research endeavour on Community Participation and the Sustainability of Development Programs: A Case study of National Rural Support Program (NRSP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was empirically carried out on an NGO namely the National Rural Support Program. The researcher adopted case study method to know how NRSP perform developmental interventions and how the decisions are taken regarding development in the target area. Staff members of NRSP and members of community organizations of four operational districts were interviewed using interview guide. A total of 84 respondents were selected through convenient sampling technique and 10 respondents were selected from each office of NRSP. In addition out of 435 community organizations 05% from each of the stratum was selected that constituted 16 male organizations and 07 female organizations. In this regard, 02 members from each organization were selected that constituted a total of 46 sample size. The study analysed the role and importance of community participation in the sustainability of developmental programs in NRSP interventions in the selected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It also critically examines the role of traditional leaders’ i.e. micro level forces influencing community participation in the sustainability of developmental programs. The study concludes that the government co-opted NRSP for carrying out those activities which the government was supposed to perform. For this purpose, the government arranged funds from the international donor organizations or provided funds through other channels like Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). In this way the donor agencies compelled NRSP to achieve the pre-determined targets in a specific time. Furthermore the micro level forces were also constraint in the way of community participation due to their socio-political and economic position. They had say in all the affairs of the community and no developmental activity could be launched without their due consent. In this way, they monopolized and hijacked the NRSP interventions for their self-interest. The study summarised that due to the influence of traditional leaders and the pressure of donor organizations, NRSP has adopted a target oriented approach and involved the community in the Project Cycle i.e. planning, implementation and monitoring of developmental activities for fulfilling the donor’s demand. In addition, due to cultural constraints and male dominancy women could not meaningfully participate in the development planning, implementation and monitoring. Thus NRSP has failed to meaningfully involve the target communities in the project cycle of developmental interventions and achieve sustained results which are the ultimate goal of participatory development.

تصوف کے غیر مشہور سلاسل کا تحقیقی جائزہ

Human being is the combination of two elements (body and soul). Soul is the eternal element in human being. Body of human is subordinate to disease and illness. Similarly soul can also get illness and inner disease. Human being visits doctors for cure and getting better physical health of body, likewise for the care and cure of the soul of human needs to have spiritual attachment, which is called tasawof. In Muslim society, it is believed that Tasawoof is confined to four categories (Salasil) i.e. Naqashbandiya, Chishtiya, Saharwardiya and Qadariya. In the same context it is also accepted that some other names of different salasil exist in different societies and books, which made the confusion in the  real picture and concept of Tasawof. This article is an attempt to find  these unfamiliar Salasil of tasawof and clarify their legal status. The researcher studied in this context which stated that tasawof is not restricted to the above mentioned four categories. The reason of less familiarization in the society is that the it was practiced by less followers at the time.

Teachers and Management Understanding and Practices of Teamwork in School

Every year educational institutes invest a lot of money on education. Various approaches and techniques are being used to enhance the quality of education in order to meet the requirements of the revolutionary developing world. Teachers' teamwork is supposed to be an effective effort towards meeting those needs, by developing teachers' knowledge and skills and by sharing their experiences with each other. A number of studies have been conducted in the western countries on teachers' teamwork. Therefore, this study was conducted in a community private English medium school in Karachi, to find out teachers and management practices and understanding of teachers teamwork. The study undertook two teaching teams, one in the primary section and another in secondary section, and one team of coordinators (academic council), which is a decision making body as well as deals with teachers and classroom teaching. The study explores how teamwork helps teachers enhance their personal and professional knowledge by providing them a collaborative environment. It also explains how the school structure and the required elements, resources, time and professional development opportunities help in this regard. Even though it is a management structure, yet is seem to be fruitful for teachers to build up their trust and relation with each other, which are supposed to provide baseline for teachers' professional growth by bringing their tacit beliefs and assumptions to the surface. It also highlights some factors influencing effective teamwork, for example, influence of the team leader/coordinator, not having clear rules to be followed, unawareness of the purpose/vision for the team and role ambiguity of the members of the academic council. The study also recommends some suggestions for improving the quality of teamwork as well as recommends further studies in this field to be explored.
