In the early years of Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League, kept the opposition parties away from power through using government funds to defame the opposition. The general elections were avoided on the adult franchise basis till 1970. The basis of the parliamentary democracy was shattered by the party or parties in the government. The 1970 elections on the adult franchise basis, for the first time in the history of Pakistan, gave voice and public strength to the tinny elected opposition in the parliament, to participate actively in the constitution-making of Pakistan and general legislation in the interest of common man. This Ph.D. level research was conducted to ascertain whether the opposition played a vital role in the constitution-making of Pakistan while sitting on the opposition benches of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Senate of Pakistan by addressing the constitutional, social, political, economic and religious issues concerning the people of Pakistan. The study was conducted in the main framework of the parliamentary democracy followed by the opposition in and outside the parliament. This dissertation has elaborated the role played by the opposition benches in the Interim Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during 1972, Constitutional Accord of 1972, the 1973 original Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, basic and main amendments presented by the government benches and has critically analyzed the legislation over constitutional, social, political, economic and religious issues within the debates of the legislature. Despite hurdles, pressures, and constraints, the opposition in Pakistan during 1972-1977 showed insight and has constantly set precedents of sacrifice for national causes, especially in the political and constitutional issues. The study is very useful for all the parliamentarians and especially for the opposition benches in Pakistan and outside as well.

Elm-ul-Fawasil (Intespace) is the knowledge of the leading verses of the Quran. To inquire the numer of verses, interspace is the main objective of this knowledge. We have so far considered the miraculous characteristics of the Quran from the scientific and historical points of view. In addition to this, the Quran aslo possesses an astounding, inimitable style from the literacy perspective. The words employed in the Quran are exceedingly special, both in terms of meaning and also of fluency and effect style. Quran is the ultimate miracle of God. The present Quran is in the some condition as it was revealed because almighty Allah has been taken the responsibility its protection. This paper present the definition of Elm-ul-Fawasil, Histoy, etymology, title, its types and the importance of this knowledge.

Exploring Efficacy of Geogebra in Development of Geometrical Reasoning Skills of Students of Grade 7

In the Pakistani context, teachers and students often find it difficult to teach and learn geometry, particularly proofs using deductive reasoning skills. Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) is a widely recognised tool that mediates students’ reasoning skills. However, its efficacy in developing the reasoning skills has not yet been explored in the Pakistani school contexts. Before spending the time and resources in integrating the software in geometry instruction, it is necessary to investigate the effectiveness of DGS in the Pakistani context. This study, therefore, aimed at determining the effect of DGS (Geogebra) on reasoning skills of students of Grade 7 in one of the private schools in Karachi, Pakistan. The study used quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design. Sample of 40 and 36 students comprised Experiment Group (EG) and Control Group (CG), respectively. In the pre-test CG performed significantly better than EG (U=468, z=-2.659, pr=0.31). However, in the post-test, score of EG (Mdn=6.50) was higher, as compared to score of CG (Mdn=6.00), although the difference was not significant which is represented by small sized effect (U =615.50, z=-1.098, p>0.05, r=0.125). Specifically, DGS-based instructions resulted in significant improvement at visualisation level as compared to the instructions without DGS. However, both instructions (with and without DGS) were equally helpful at the analysis and deduction level. Nevertheless, no improvement was reported at the informal deduction level. The findings of this study encourage the practitioners to use DGS for the development of students’ geometrical reasoning, especially while designing the instructions at visualisation level.
