Supervision is a positive process in which the major focus is upon quality student learning resulting from a long-term investment in the growth and development of the professional teaching staff. Supervision of instruction is multifaceted interpersonal process dealing with teacher‟s behavior, curriculum, grouping of students and teachers utilization of all skills for set targets. In Pakistan the instructional supervision is the duty of school principals, headmasters and the education officers in addition to their administrative role of maintaining school discipline and provision of physical facilities. This study was conducted to assess the role of instructional supervisors in promoting the effective teaching practices in girl‟s high schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The major objectives were: (1) to investigate the present teaching practices in government schools; (2) to explore the qualities, efforts and efficiencies of instructional supervisors; (3) to determine the allocated time and supervisors priorities about instructions; and (4) to investigate teachers views about supervisors strategies, level of interest for the improvement of teaching learning process The Population of the study consisted of 25 District Education Officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 274 principals of Girls high schools, 2084 Senior English Teachers of these high Schools and all the 71999 female students of class 9th and 10th enrolled in these274 schools for female in the province. The sample was randomly selected. Seven District Education officers, 95 high school principals,468 teachers working against SET (general) posts in selected schools from each category in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 2440 students being taught by teachers, were selected as sample for the study. Data were collected by the researcher through personal visits to the sample schools. District Education officers were interviewed and three close-ended questionnaires for principals, teachers and students were distributed and recollected afterwards. The collected data were organized, tabulated. The Percentage and Chi-Square test was applied to get reliable results through the SPSS program. Major findings of the study indicated that all the education officers were well aware about their role and responsibilities as instructional supervisors and they had proper knowledge and skills to perform their role as Instructional leaders but due to their hectic schedules, they could not manage to supervise the schools properly. There was no proper way to communicate the knowledge of instructional objectives to the school principals and to the subject teachers due to lack of ways and time for interaction. The present teaching practices in schools were mostly traditional and due to lack of resources and interest, teachers were reluctant to use new teaching methods and adopt new techniques. Most of the teachers and the instructional supervisors were aware of the standards of teaching for effectiveness to some context. They were not implementing these standards properly and the supervisors were not using evaluation techniques properly. Students and teachers were found highly motivated for teaching and learning system of giving reward was not effectively implemented and parental involvement in the teaching learning process was not found. Students‟ performance and achievements were the criteria used mostly to judge the effectiveness of the teaching and the same criteria was adopted by the education officers to measure the performance of school principals as instruction supervisors.

Allah Himself has taken the responsibility to protect the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Holy Prophet. He Himself has provided the sources of their protection. One of the means of the protection that was the creation of such a group of the Qura who not only served the Holy Quran but also provided worth mentioning services in Ahadith of the Holy Prophet. But their services are hidden from us. By Qura the researcher means those Qura whose recitation styles and narrations are studied and taught in the different quarters of the world who are known as Qura Saba & Ashra (سبعہ وعشرہ). They are ten imams each with two Ravi’s. They are thirty Qura in total. I have selected only last three Imam & their two narrators in this Article. These Qurra are known as Qurra Thlathah (قراء ثلاثہ).  The services of these imams have been highlighted in the light of the following eleven Ahadith books. Sihah:   Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sahih Ibn-e-Habban, Sahih Ibn-e-Khuzeema. Sunan: Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Nasai, Sunan Ibn Majah, and Sunan al-Kubra. Masaneed: Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Musnad Abu Ya`la al-Mawsili. How many people have reported them and what is the standard of the weakness and soundness of those narrators have also been discussed in this article. Besides these books of Ahadith, these Ahadith have been searched in other books of Ahadith also. The status of these Qura has been explained in the light of the commentary of Muhadithin. Whether Ahadith critics have declared them thiqa or weak or have declared them as average sadooq. The most important thing is that there is no one weak reporter in these imam qura. Two out of three imam qura are ranked as thiqa and one sadooq. And among the narrators of these qura one is thiqa, one sadooq, and nobody are weak reporters. There is silence about the remaining four reporters of these qura. The reason is that there is no hadith reported from them. Because of all this their religious and scholarly authenticity could be determined. The narrations of these thalathah (ثلاثہ) Qura are confined to reporting the Holy Quran but they have also reported about every part of fiqh and they have been utilized and refered to

Molecular Characterization and Seroprevalence of H9 Avian Influenza in National Zoo and Live Birds Market Lahore District and Azad Kashmir

Avian influenza virus (AIV) subtype H9N2 is greatly threatening to Pakistan poultry, even with stringent vaccination policies. Subtype H9N2 avian influenza viruses (AIV) continues to cause significant outbreaks in commercial and backyard poultry in Pakistan. Subsequently, subtype H9N2 AIVs are occasionally reported from humans, widespread incidence of H9N2 in poultry and non-poultry avian species executes a great risk for public health. Until now, the genetic evolution of H9N2 viruses in various host organisms in Pakistan has not been thoroughly investigated. However, this is the primarily report of isolation of low pathogenic AIV in non-poultry avian species including ducks, black swan, peacock and pheasants in Pakistan. The study has been carried in National Zoos and live birds market (LBM) situated in Lahore district and commercial and backyard poultry in Kasure, Gujranwala, Sheikhpura and Sialkot districts of Punjab province and Bhimber, Kotli and Mirpur districts of Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK). In the present study, twelve low pathogenic avian influenza viruses (LPAIVs) subtype H9N2 isolated from clinically healthy and diseased ducks, geese, black swans, pheasants and peacocks and five from poultry outbreaks during 2016-17 were characterized phylogenetically on the basis of hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) genes. Phylogenetic studies showed that these H9N2 AIVs belonged to Middle East B genetic group of G1 sub-lineage. All the viruses carried an amino acid substitution Q226L in HA gene in the receptor binding site that contributes to increased replication and virulence in mammals. In the present work, genetically very closely H9N2 viruses isolated from poultry and multiple non-poultry avian species. We demonstrated the existence of epidemiological links between poultry and other avian species kept in captivity. Therefore, these findings suggested the continuing surveillance of poultry and other avian species in this region. This demonstrates an epidemiological link between poultry and other avian species kept in captivity, a fact which must be considered in future H9N2 disease management programs.
