Incorporation of well-defined functional filler into a polymer matrix to form inorganic/organic composites with tailored properties represents new chemical feedstock advancement. In this work, functionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (functional silsesquioxane) and quaternary ammonium compound immobilized metal graphene oxide (functional graphene oxide) hybrids with defined architectures were synthesized by wet chemical methods. The synthesized functional fillers were thoroughly characterized by using various techniques including electronic absorption (UV-Vis), X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Raman Spectroscopy, and dynamic laser light scattering (DLS). Functional silsesquioxane was incorporated into two polymer matrices, non-reactive and reactive, to achieve inorganic/organic composites. Poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP) as non-reactive polymer matrix and poly(pyromellitic dianhydride-co-4, 4′-oxydianiline), amic acid solution as reactive polymer matrix were used. Functional graphene oxide was incorporated in poly(methyl methacrylate)/poly(ethylene glycol) (PMMA/PEG) blend matrix to achieve inorganic/organic composite. All the composites were prepared by low cost solution casting method. The physiochemical properties of the prepared composites were examined by using different techniques. The prepared composites analysis by FTIR, XRD, TGA, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and SEM indicated that the functional fillers were bonded through different set of interactions including electrostatic, van der Waal and hydrogen bonding and dispersed uniformly into the polymer matrices. The prepared composites showed excellent antifouling and antibacterial performances for bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein and Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria, respectively. In addition, the prepared composites performance was checked with pure water flux and gas permeability/selectivity studies. The present study would be providing advantages over existing methods to prepare nanofiller/polymer composites such as low cost, proper dispersion of fillers that would allow obtaining excellent structural, thermal, optical and surface properties of polymer nanocomposite/nanohybrids for applied water treatment and other environmental applications.

ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد بنیادی طور پر ایک محقق اورتذکرہ نگار ہیں مذکورہ ہر دوجہات نے اُن کے تنقیدی سرمائے کو پس پشت ڈال دیا ہے ۔ دوسرا وہ خود بھی تدوین کی مصروفیات کے باعث عملی تنقید کی طرف توجہ نہ کرسکے۔ اُن کی تحریروں میں اُن کے تنقیدی تبصرے بکھرے ہوئے حالات میں ملتے ہیں۔ اگر وہ ذرا سی توجہ کرتے تو یقینا ایک جداگانہ مقام پر فائز ہوتے ۔
لاکھوں سلام میںتنقیدی نقوش
اُن کی تنقید کے ابتدائی نمونے اُن کے اولین تذکرے ’’لاکھوں سلام ‘‘ میں موجود ہیں۔ اس کتاب میں امام احمد رضا بریلوی کے سلام پر دس شعرا کی تضمینات جمع کی گئی ہیں اور شعراکا تعارف دیا گیا ہے۔ اس کے آغاز میں ہر شاعر کی نعتیہ شاعری اور شعری مجموعے پر ڈاکٹر شہزاداحمد نے اپنی تنقیدی آرا پیش کی ہیں جو لائق التفات ہیں،ان میں انھوں نے جن نکات کو اُجاگر کیا ہے۔ وہ درج ذیل ہیں:

مذکورہ خصوصیات میں سے زیادہ کا تعلق خالص شاعر ی سے ہے لیکن ساتھ ہی ایسے اصولوں کا ذکر ہے جو نعت کے ساتھ خاص ہیں۔ یہاں سے نعتیہ شاعری کے بارے میں ڈاکٹر صاحب کے جو اصول سامنے آئے ہیں، اُن میں پہلا یہ ہے کہ وہ نعت جیسے پاکیزہ موضوع کے لیے محتاط الفاظ اور سنجیدہ اسلوب اختیار کرنے کے قائل ہیں۔ وہ گورنر اُتر پردیش محمد عثمان عارف نقش بندی کے کلام پر رائے دیتے ہوئے لکھتے ہیں:

مکانة السنة في نظر أهل القرآن

This article is about misunderstandings of "Ah-lul-Quran" towards "Al-Sunnah" they call themselves Ah-lul-Quran, though they do not deserve this title. They deny authenticity of the Hadith as well as the work of Mohaddisien, following in the footprints of their spiritual mentors who are primarily orientalists such as subringer, William mowver and Goldzehar. Actually in sub-Continent treacherous act of denial of Ahadith, was outcome of conspiracies hatched by imperial world. Major misunderstandings of Ah-lul-Quran towards Sunnah arise from the following. *          Status of the Prophet (SAW) in their eyes. *          According to their view Sunnah was not compiled during the time of prophet hood. *          Doubts about the ahadith as fabrication Indeed their views are based on nothing but merely misconceptions and ill-will against Islam. They not only deny the Sunnah but also the Quran. This paper refutes the objections held forth by the Ah-lul-Quran by indepth analysis and valid references.

Applications of Orthogonal Polynomials for the Numerical Solutions of Higher Order Boundary Value Problems

A differential equation along with a set of additional constraints (called boundary conditions) form a boundary value problem. Boundary value problems (linear or nonlinear) are found mostly in engineering, applied mathematics and physical sciences as well. Although, few numerical algorithms are found in solving the higher order boundary value problems using orthogonal polynomials. Since polynomials play a vital role in computing the numerical solutions of the differential equations therefore, the research, conducted during my PhD programme, concerns with the study of the numerical solutions of higher order linear boundary value problems. The main objectives of the research are to develop Galerkin technique for solving special eighth, tenth and twelfth order linear boundary value problems using Legendre polynomials, and numerical approximations for solving the system of Fredholm integro–differential equations and the system of differential equations using Laguerre polynomials. The numerical schemes, developed, have been compared with the existing methods, which shows the higher accuracy of the schemes.
