Environmental issues have gained remarkable attention in last two decades. The meager voice raised in early 70’s regarding environmental protection has become the worldwide recognized green marketing campaign. Environmental issues not only got attention of the civil society but also proved to be the most important marketing opportunity for the marketers in the developed countries. Environmental issues has also forced the governments and regulatory authorities to formulate the eco-friendly rules and regulations. Apparently quite less work has been done on green marketing in the developing countries. The conceptual framework developed for this study is to investigate the factors affecting the green purchase intention and actual green purchase behavior in developing countries. Based on theory of reason action (TRA), theory of planned behavior (TPB), in conjugation with attribution theory and using media as influencer, it was tired to analyze the values and attitude influencing the green purchase intention (GPI) and actual green purchase behavior (GPB).The study empirically tested the impact of media, perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), Environmental concern (EC), Internal environmental locus of control (INELOC), External environmental locus of control (EXELOC) on behavioral intention and actual purchase behavior related to green products. A self-administrated questionnaire was used to conduct this quantitative study and all the variables were measured by using well established measurement scales. The sample size used in the study was five hundred eighty-four and the respondents were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The hypothesized causal relationships were tested by structure equation modeling (SEM) and Analysis of moment structure (AMOS) version 21 is used to perform the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and path analysis. The findings of the study revealed that media significantly influence the perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), environmental concern (EC), internal environmental locus of control (INELOC) and external environmental locus of control (EXELOC). It was also reported that perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), internal environmental locus of control (INELOC) and external environmental locus of control (EXELOC) had a significant impact on the green purchase intention (GPI), but environmental concern (EC) had no significant impact on green purchase intention (GPI). The result finding also validates the theory of planned behavior (TPB) in the context of developing countries that Green purchase intention (GPI) has significant impact on green purchase behavior (GPB). Awareness campaigns should be run for green products to enhance the public awareness regarding environmental issues. Media can play a very vital role for the adoption and acceptance of green products. Regulatory authorities and government should make and enforce laws to protect the environment. Government should make environmental friendly policies, subsidize the green product and offer incentives for the producers of the green products. Companies should also take this green revolution as an opportunity to win the consumer heart and dollars. Firms should focus on R&D for green alternatives and offer green substitute for conventional products to get the first mover advantage, as seemingly future is bright for the green products only.

Among the prohibited actions, gambling is on the top. There is definite prohibition  in many verses of the Holy Quran and the hadiths of the prophet. Despite such strict prohibitions by Islam, the gambling has been entered in economy in different shapes. Among the different types of gambling, some  forms are  very  clear, every one considers it wrong,   whereas  some kinds of  gambling are not considered wrong by the peoples. Whatever the name of gambling is, it is illegal and immoral, because changing name doesnot change its reality. Every type of gambling creates destruction in society and economy and brings various evils with it. Gambling  makes man greedy, miser, lover of  money, jealousy, wastage  of time and money. Such evils takes men away from generosity and  worship of Allah, carelesness in his duties and man becomes  immoral and irrespossible. Therefore, in any society where gambling is spread, the concept of peace, love, humanity bacomes  meaning less. As a result, the poor get poorer and the  rich grow richer.

Non – Linear Defect Sizing Via Grayscale Thresholding Technique Applied to Digital Radiographic Images of Industrial Materials ── With Special Focus on Nuclear Fuels

Determination of the size of a defect in a given material is important from industrial usage point of view. In this work, a computational technique has been developed that takes a humble step forward from just qualitative description of defect, such as “big” or “small” to its area-wise quantification. Our program (by the name “DEFAREA”) accepts a 2D grayscale image of an investigated specimen as input and sizes the irregular shaped defects contained therein in terms of the area occupied by them. In case where a defect feature is of regular shape being a projected image of a cylinder or a sphere the program is also able to produce volumetric results. The program exploits the fact that defects offer color contrasts that are different from the rest of the image (such as bone fracture in X- ray radiograph). It is based on grayscale thresholding (GT) whereby it first iterates down to compute a minimum value of graylevel that separates the first peak from the rest of the distribution in the grayscale spectrum of the given input image. This threshold, which is representative of a particular shade of gray color, is then used to identify, select and count the number of pixels which have graylevel values below the computed threshold. The number of segmented pixels within the whole image size then easily produces not only a numeric fraction of the defective portion of inspected specimen but also the area occupied by the defect if the physical sizes and dimensional measurements of the specimen are known. The main part of the algorithm, however, revolves around devising a reliable computational method to obtain a certainty range in the reported defect size. Certainty range is needed as there physically exists a transition region (TR) between the defective and the immaculate parts of the investigated object that can not be put in either category. TR offers lesser contrast with the flawless part of the image than the pure defect areas. So a given defect is doubly quantified with and without appending the transition region around it with the aid of user-defined adjustability in the computed grayscale threshold. Then finally an average value of defect size is calculated along with an associated certainty. The presented algorithm is validated against physical measurements of some locally fabricated metallic plates having drilled holes of known sizes simulated as defects in them in which the results indicate that it correctly selects and quantifies at least 94.7% of the actual required regions of interest in a given image and it gives less than 8% false alarm rate. The algorithm is then applied to sizing of a wide range of defects commonly encountered in nuclear industry regarding reactor fuels. The images of nuclear fuels used as input in the program are collected from a reference standard source of neutron radiographs. The present work confirms the ability to quantify various kinds of defects such as chipping in nuclear fuel, cracks, voids, melting, deformation, inclusion of foreign materials, heavy isotope accumulation and non-uniformity etc. The classes of fuel range from those of research and power reactors to fast breeders, from fresh nuclear fuel to post-irradiate, and from pellets to annular and vibro-compacted fuel. It is also demonstrated that the program can handle a variety of image sizes, displays several output modes of image segmentation and works well without the need of any smoothening or eroding morphological operations.
