Human security is a new concept in security studies that emerged in 1990s in the arena of global politics and shifted the focus of security studies from statehood to humans. Countries started to focus at human security while managing their national security policies but many countries of world neglected the human security values in formulation of their national policies and Pakistan is one of those countries. Blend of human security challenges has gradually emerged in Pakistani society due to its negligence in addressing human security issues particularly water scarcity, food shortage and militancy. Fragmented character of society has politicized the water issue in the productions of more water reservoirs which has created the water scarcity in the country that led to food shortage in the society. Common people are deprived from their basic necessities of life which has created the annoyance in deprived people who stood against the writ of government and a wave of militancy has been instigated in almost every part of country. The current research work has analyzed all aforesaid human security challenges to Pakistan in detail. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed and responded by academia from 10 universities of Pakistan representing all provinces and centre as well. The respondents were 25 students of Masters, MPhil and PhD level and 5 faculty members from Political Science and International Relations departments from each university and collected data has been analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Studies (SPSS) to reach the sound conclusion. Current research work has recommended that the human security challenges to Pakistan such as water scarcity, food shortage and militancy may be addressed appropriately by adopting the comprehensive strategy comprising the use of force, diplomatic ways of negotiations and social elevation of common people in the society.

Dr. Israr Ahmed was a great thinker, intellectual and a reformer. He was diverse scholar and took inspiration from a great and diverse spectrum of sholars like Dr. Allama Iqbal and Dr. Rafiuddin; Abul Aa’la Maoudoodi and Abul Kalam Azad; Hameed uddin Farahi and Amin Ahsan Islahi and Sheikh ul Hind Maulana Mahmood ul Hasan and Shiekh ul Islam Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Usmani. His thought and wisdom was quite influenced by these people. We trace out this remarkable and renowned sholar’s rendered his educational, authorial and religious services. For this purpose Dr. Israr Ahmed started his mission with lecture of Quran. Soon, his lectures were well known throughout the country. He established a great institute namely ‘Markazi Anjuman e Khudaam ul Quran’ in Lahore in order to render educational, authorial and religious services in an organized manner. To spread reformative and preaching services in a better way, he established a party with the name of ‘Tanzeem e Islam Pakistan’In view of his great services, especially in the field of Holy Quran, we may mark him as great scholar of twentieth centur

Statistical Tests for the Analysis of Human Genetic Linkage

There are many tests of inheritance based upon sibling information for diseases that have late onset. The N-test (Green et al. 1983) is one of these tests, which utilizes information from affected siblings. The N-test is the count in affected siblings of the most frequently occurring haplotype from the father plus the analogous count from the mother. When applied to haplotypes, the N-test excludes recombinant families from the analysis and assumes that parental genotypes are heterozygous. But in real world data sets, generally in Asia and particularly in Pakistan, the case of heterogeneity of parents genotyping were not exist and therefore recombinant families are found more frequently. In this study we modified the N-test to be based on alleles instead of haplotypes. This modified allele-based N-test can include all families (recombinant as well as nonrecombinant). We carried out a simulation study to compare the power of the allele-based N-test with the powers of the S a l l and S p a i r s nonparametric statistics as computed by MERLIN. The powers of the allelebased N-test, S a l l and S p a i r s statistics are identical to each other for iii affected sibships of size 2 and 3. For affected sibships of larger sizes, the powers of the S a l l and S p a i r s statistics are larger than the power of allelebased N-test. These simulation-based results are consistent with earlier results based on analytical computations. Gene-mapping studies regularly rely on examination for Mendelian transmission of marker alleles in a pedigree, as a way of screening for genotyping errors and mutations. For analysis of family data sets, it is usually necessary to resolve or remove the genotyping errors prior to analysis. At the Center of Inherited Disease Research (CIDR), to deal with their large-scale data flow, they formalized their data cleaning approach in a set of rules based on PedCheck output. We examine via carefully designed simulations that how well CIDR’s data cleaning rules work in practice. We found that genotype errors in siblings are detected more often than in parents for less polymorphic SNPs and vice versa for more polymorphic SNPs. Through computer simulation, we conclude that some of the CIDR’s rules work poorly in some situations and we suggest a set of modified data cleaning rules that may work better than CIDR’s rules.
