Teachers work under certain institutional conditions where they deal with diverse demands of administration, parents, and students; the chances of getting stressed or burnout occur more within the traditional set-up of public schools in national context. The purpose of the current research was led by the assumption based on Maslach’s theory of burnout that institutional factors put teachers at varied levels of burnout. Emotional burnout rate of teachers was explored and contribution of demographic and school variables on prevalence of burnout was determined. It was measured that how well the institutional factors (having five sub-factors) and the demographic variables (four variables) could predict the prevalence of burnout in three dimensions namely emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP), and reduced personal accomplishment (PA) and overall burnout among school teachers. The current research employed a sample of 1,693 public school teachers from six districts of Punjab province by using multi-stage random sampling technique. The participants filled three self-developed survey questionnaires named as Emotional Burnout Scale (EBS), Measure of Institutional Factors, and a Demographic Profile Sheet. A range of statistical tests such as descriptive statistics i.e. mean, standard deviation, inferential statistics including t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. The set of five institutional factors (sub-factors) and four demographic variables, resulting nine predictor variables were regressed on outcome variables such as three dimensions and overall score of burnout producing four predictive models. Results indicated that personal, administrative, environmental, insecurities, and training were strong predictors of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and overall burnout score whereas weak predictors of reduced personal accomplishment. Furthermore, marital status, gender, job status, and experience were weak but significant predictors of burnout. Institutional factors and demographic variables were effective at predicting emotional exhaustion (45%), depersonalization (42%), reduced personal accomplishment (34%), and cumulative burnout (53%). Suggestions for future research comprise that regression model with varied variables may produce different results. Input from students and school administration can add in exploring teachers’ burnout. Changed methodology may also be workable in producing varied information in future. Personal and institutional level combating techniques of burnout have been suggested.

منشی میراں بخش جلوہ انیسویں صدی کے ربع آخر میں سیالکوٹ میں اردو میں شعرو شاعری کرتے تھے۔ انجمنِ حمایتِ اسلام کے جلسوں میں شریک ہوتے ہوئے نظمیں پڑھتے تھے۔ آپ سراج الاخبار(جہلم) کے سیالکوٹ میں نمائندہ تھے۔ جلوہ کے پانچ شعری مجموعے گلشنِ نعت‘ جلوہ حق‘ تحفہ جلوہ‘ نوحہ جلوہ‘ دیوان جلوہ اور ایک نثری کتاب جو جلوہ کی شعری تصانیف کے بارے میں معلومات فراہم کرتی ہے۔ شائع ہو چکی ہیں۔(۵۳) جلوہ کی مذکورہ بالا کتب نایاب ہیں۔

مولانا عبد المجید سالک اپنی تالیف’’ذکرِ اقبال‘‘ میں جلوہ سیالکوٹی کے بارے میں لکھتے ہیں:

ایک شاعر منشی میراں بخش جلوہ سیالکوٹی تھے جو اکثر انجمنِ حمایتِ اسلام میں بھی آ کر نظمیں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ نہ جانے کہاں سے شعر کہنے کی لت پڑ گئی۔ شعر کیا تھے پکوڑے تل لیا کرتے تھے۔ ان دنوں خزانے کے ایک کلرک اہلِ زبان تھے جلوہ صاحب ان کو اکثر شعر سنایا کرتے تھے۔ ایک روز انہوں نے تنگ آ کر کہا بھائی جلوہ تمہارے شعروں سے چھیچھڑوں کی بو آتی ہے۔ جلوہ صاحب تاؤ کھا کر شاہ صاحب کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور ان کو اپنے اشعار سنا کر پوچھا کہ یہ اشعار کیسے ہیں شاہ صاحب۔ شاہ صاحب سے مراد مولوی سید میر حسن ہیں ‘ نے فرمایا سچ پوچھتے ہو تو تم نے شعروں کا جھٹکا کر دیا ہے۔(۵۴)

میراں بخش جلوہ فن تاریخ گوئی میں مہارت رکھتے تھے۔ شاعرِ کشمیر منشی محمد دین فوق کے چچا منشی غلام محمد خادم کا بیٹا محمود فوت ہوا تو جلوہ نے کئی تاریخیں کہیں جن میں سے ایک یہ ہے:

مر گیا جلوہ جو خادم کا پسر                              نام تھا محمود اور تھانیک خو            

کیوں نہ خادم روئے سر کو پیٹ کر                 مل گیا ہے خاک میں

Elm-ul-Fawasil (Intespace) is the knowledge of the leading verses of the Quran. To inquire the numer of verses, interspace is the main objective of this knowledge. We have so far considered the miraculous characteristics of the Quran from the scientific and historical points of view. In addition to this, the Quran aslo possesses an astounding, inimitable style from the literacy perspective. The words employed in the Quran are exceedingly special, both in terms of meaning and also of fluency and effect style. Quran is the ultimate miracle of God. The present Quran is in the some condition as it was revealed because almighty Allah has been taken the responsibility its protection. This paper present the definition of Elm-ul-Fawasil, Histoy, etymology, title, its types and the importance of this knowledge.

The Relationship of Executive Functioning Behavior and Academic Achievement in High School Students

The present study is an attempt to investigate the role of executive functioning in achievement of students, with special relation to intelligence. For this purpose several hypotheses have been formulated to investigate the relationship between level of executive functions, academic achievement and intellectual functioning of students.1.a) Global executive functions will be positively correlated with the level of academic achievement of high school students .b) Meta-cognition Index on BRIEF will be positively correlated with the academic achievement scores of high school students. c) Behavioral Regulation Index on BRIEF will be positively correlated with the academic achievement scores of high school students.2) There will be more positive correlation between executive functioning and level of academic achievement of adolescents in high average I.Q as compared to the correlation between executive functioning and level of academic achievement of adolescent with below average I.Q. A sample of 50 male and 50 female students were selected randomly from various schools of Karachi. The age range of the sample was from 12 years to 14 years (mean age: 12.50; SD = .92).WRAT-3(Wilkinson, 1993), Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (Gioia, Isquith, Guy & Kenworthy, 2000) and DAP.IQ (Reynolds & Hickman, 2004) were administered on the participant. Descriptive statistics and Pearson product moment coefficient of correlation were computed through SPSS version 12.0. Result indicated the non-significant relationship between global executive functions and academic achievement in all three areas such as reading, spelling and arithmetic (P>.05). Further it was found that Arithmetic skills positively correlated with Behavior regulation (P<.05). Additional findings indicated that there is a significant difference between the score on BRIEF among male and female high school students. Recommendations for further researches are also suggested.
