This analytical research lies at the intersection of language and gender. It is rooted in Showalter‘s perspective that contemporary female writers share distinct female experiences, which require a female framework for examining literary works by women, about women. Theoretically speaking, Post-modern frameworks promote human experience to be located, inescapably within language. Language shapes and reifies positioning of women in the society. Therefore, I have taken up Gynocriticism as an approach towards the selected texts, which looks at the language of the texts by the female authors from female perspective. Earlier, studies in this area centered on the similarities and differences between the male and female spoken language, but I have narrowed down this area of study by studying the similarities and differences in the use of literary language by Maya Angelou, Margaret Atwood and Moniza Alvi. They have been studied under the canopy of Communities of Practice Approach, using the adapted theoretical-operational framework given by Elaine Showalter, Jonathan Culler and Sara Mills. It tends to bring out those experiential and relational values of the selected female poets that provide basis for re-establishing of women‘s positioning in the society through the transformative power of language in literature. It does not only reflect upon new positioning of female intellectuals, but women in general. It brings out their urge for growth and empowerment that calls for encouragement, appreciation and recognition. The analytical findings reveal that these women of intellect and wisdom belong to different parts of the world, yet they share a common goal, of raising their voice against suppression of women, exemplifying themselves to be equally talented and competent in their art of writing poetry. The study also presents strength of female writers to use language as a transformative power and display the dynamics of their experiential and relational values, for the emancipation of women around the world through their linguistic diversity and literary aesthetics. The analysis of the selected poems determines and establishes the position of the female poets as talented and artistic beings, making the world accept women as a group, who has started to look at themselves as strong and equal members of the society, bringing out their persuasive voice and making them heard as women of substance in the world.

DEPRESSION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING AMONG PEOPLE HAVING COVID-19 UNDERGONE QUARANTINE

Aims Of Study: Coronavirus is a potentially deadly disease that mostly affects human lung tissue. Multiple cases of unexplained respiratory tract infections were reported to the World Health Organization China in December 2019. The focus of this research was to assess association between depression and PWB in patients who had been isolated due to covid-19. Methodology: A sample of 250 people with covid-19 post quarantine, with age ranges from 25 to 45 were selected by using purposive sampling methods. Depression, anxiety, stress scale and psychological well-being scales were administered. Regression analysis and t-test were employed for statistical analysis. Results: Obtained results evidenced that depression is significantly predict psychological health in the covid-19 population [B= -.015, -.019, F (7.915) sig= .000]. Gender difference is also observed in variable of depression also [(4.78) =.030, p.000]. Limitations and future implications: Future research may base on longitudinal analyses focusing on familial and social factors that may influence the psychological well-being of people living in quarantine. Originality: I certify that the intellectual substance of this article is the result of my own effort and that all assistance and sources used in the preparation of this article have been acknowledged. Conclusion: It was concluded that Depression affects people with COVID-19 and PWB after quarantine. future research may focus more on the influence of the interaction between quarantine and adults’ mental health to fully comprehend the link.

Synthesis and Characterization of Graphene Oxide Based Metallic Sulfides Nanostructures for Supercapacitor Applications

The limited available energy sources and their improper use require efficient energy storage devices. Therefore, supercapacitors are more attractive due to light weight, low cost and high specific capacitance. Graphene oxide (GO) based metal sulfides have huge potential for electrochemical applications due to large specific surface area and electrical conductivity. In this study, various GO based metal sulfides were hydrothermally synthesized on nickel foam substrate for supercapacitor applications. The structural phases were observed using X-ray diffraction. The surface morphology of aluminum, strontium, nickel and zinc based sulfides exhibited nanowall, nanorod, nanoplate and nanoweb like structures, respectively. The metal sulfides showed good electrochemical performance, which was depicted using both three and two electrodes systems. The specific capacitance and energy density determined using three electrodes galvanostatic charge discharge for GO based sulfides of aluminum, strontium, nickel and zinc were 2373.51, 1824.14, 2368.833, 2400.30 Fg-1 and 118.68, 91.56, 118.44, 120 WhKg-1, respectively. Similarly, the power densities and specific capacitance retention up to 1000 cycles were measured as 2663.58, 4356.64, 1010.00, 4407.73 WKg-1 and 57, 67, 42.20, 95.90 %, respectively. Furthermore, an excellent two electrodes symmetric behavior was revealed for GO based sulfides of aluminum nanowalls, strontium nanorods, nickel nanoplates and zinc nanoweb, because high energy densities 20.55, 10.55, 15.72, 20.29 WhKg-1 and power densities 585.50, 294.35, 848.50, 485.30 WKg-1, respectively, were observed. Hence, the excellent electrochemical behavior exhibited by the fabricated nanostructures suggested supercapacitor applications.
