The cultural and literary heritage of a nation can be found in their writings. Moreover, the development of art, science and literature can be assessed historically through the use of these writing available in manuscript form. They throw enough light on the times in which they were written. It is a record of the knowledge, aesthetic literary and creative skill of the period in which they were written. Manuscripts are therefore essentially thought to be the most important element in tracing on the human heritage. Since earlier, knowledge along with religion came to this part of the world through Central Asia; therefore, most rather all such records are available in the prevailing languages of the time like Arabic, Persian, Turkish or Pashto. The University Campus at Peshawar is a conglomeration center of knowledge. Emerging with Islamia College in the early part of the last century, it had by now grown into four universities with couple of dozen institutions. The manuscript repositories amongst them are mainly Islamia College (now university) and the University of Peshawar. They contain, to my assessment, some of the rarest collections on socio-scientific knowledge besides religion and ethics. Attempts have been made by scholars on the religio-ethical branches with no quest on manuscriputal knowledge on science and technology. An attempt has been made in this research at the thesis level to introduce this literature (socio-scientific) to the modern researchers and also to make it public to them in appropriate subject catalogue form in the general catalogues of the concerned libraries. The study tried to save the cultural Heritage / History and to identify the literary achievements of Muslim scientists from the area. It will not only highlight the importance of these works but with the availability of proper subject catalogue easy access to these literary works will be possible. The research tried to fill out the information gap by tracing these manuscripts in other parts of the world to dig out the metadata. The study will highlight all other relevant work by Muslim scientist to open new areas for the coming researchers.
Sources of Quranic Narrates of Syda Mariam (AS): A Critical Analysis of Orientalistic Approach Origin of the Qur’ᾱnic narrates towards Mariam Virgin (AS) has broadly been under debate in orientalist studies. Orientalist, in general, have had the opinion that Qur’ᾱnic stories of virgin Mariam were not the divine revelation; these are plagiarized and utilized from Christian apocryphal sources and literature like Arabic Gospel of infancy and Protoevangelium of James. This research paper’s questions were that according to Orientalist: is it true that the sources of Qur’ᾱnic Stories of Mariam (AS) are plagiarized from apocryphal Christian literature and Quran has done mistake about name of Mariam (AS)'s father and brother. This research is historical and textual. In conclusion, if anyone who has sincerely studied dating apocryphal literature and its dating should be able to see that his sincerity negates taking data for making Qur'ᾱnic narrates towards virgin Mariam (AS) from Christian apocryphal impacts upon Qur'ᾱnic narrate and also this paper shows that Christian developed their apocryphal literature after revelation of Quran.
The purpose of the present research is to investigate the spin and recovery characteristics of a high performance fighter configuration that exhibits yawing moment asymmetry at high angles of attack. High fidelity aerodynamic model, in a look-up-tables form, is developed using experimental data from static, coning, and oscillatory coning rotary balance wind tunnel tests. As a first step, all the possible steady spin modes, along with their sensitivity to control settings, are predicted from the aircraft flight dynamic model. Influence of high alpha yawing moment asymmetry on the spin recovery characteristics is inferred from the spin equilibria plots. Results from dynamical systems theory are applied to determine local stability characteristics of aircraft around steady spin states. The complete set of dynamic modes of aircraft in spin is evaluated and mode content in each of the motion variable is determined using modal decomposition. Investigation of dynamic characteristics of predicted spin modes is performed using six degrees-of-freedom time history simulations which showed that both, right and left flat spins are oscillatory and divergent. Standard spin recovery piloting strategies are investigated by performing numerical simulations of flat spins in open-loop configuration. Numerical simulations show that for fighter configuration with high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry, same spin recovery strategies when applied to left and right flat spins produce contradicting results. The proposed spin recovery strategies effectively reduced the recovery time for left flat spins. However, aircraft''s inherent tendency to yaw towards right due to high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry renders proposed spin recovery strategies ineffective in accelerating recovery of right flat spins. Performance of a gain scheduled flight control law in automatic spin recovery is also evaluated by performing numerical simulations of left and right flat spins in closed-loop configuration. The control law also reduces the recovery time of the left flat spins but is ineffective in aiding the recovery of the right flat spins. Simulations in closed loop configuration show that the large amplitude oscillations in angle of attack and sideslip, observed in open-loop configuration, are significantly damped by the flight control law.
