In the present era characterized by uncertain market conditions, mounting competition, spiraling diversity and mobility of workers, and increasing customer power, organizations should strive for achieving a lasting competitive advantage. It is believed that unless organizations focus on creativity and innovation, they cannot compete effectively and earn economic returns. The dynamic organizations like advertising agencies are especially required to be creative and innovative in order to lead, grow and compete. These organizations have mostly implemented bureaucratic control practices, such as formalization and centralization, to regulate and control the behaviors of workers. Prior research indicates that these bureaucratic practices stifle creativity and innovation. The paradox between bureaucracy, creativity and innovation has created a challenging situation for the managers in advertising agencies. The main objective of the study was to empirically investigate the impact of organizational bureaucracy on employee creativity and organizational innovation in the advertising agencies of Pakistan. Data for this study was collected through surveys distributed to a sample of 455 employees from the advertising agencies of Pakistan. Various techniques were applied to statistically analyze the data and test the hypotheses. Findings from statistical analyses indicate that organizational bureaucracy and its components, formalization and centralization; have a negative impact on employee creativity and organizational innovation. Also, creativity has a positive impact on innovation. Besides, the results of the indirect hypotheses support the postulation that creativity mediates the relationship between bureaucracy and organizational innovation in the context of advertising agencies of Pakistan. The study not only makes important theoretical contributions, but also presents valuable insights to the managers of the advertising agencies of Pakistan. Findings strengthen the nature of control-creativity paradox indicating that excessive bureaucratic control in organizations leads to reduced creativity and innovation. In addition, findings suggest that managers and policy makers should take into account the flexibility in administrative controls to encourage creativity and innovation in order to gain a competitive edge in the turbulent environment.

معدنیات کی اہمیت و افادیت

تعارف(Introduction)

معدنی کا لفظ معدن سے ماخوذ ہے۔ فیروز اللغات میں معدن کے لغوی معنی درج ذیل ہیں:

"کان-کھان- وہ جگہ زمین کھود کر دھاتیں۔ کوئلہ وغیرہ نکالیں۔ (جمع) معادن۔ "[1]

معدنیات کے لغوی معنی "وہ چیزیں جو کان سے نکلیں۔ دھات۔ فلّزات۔ "[2] ہیں۔

معدنیات کو اہم قدرتی وسیلہ کہا جاتا ہے۔ پاکستان معدنیا ت سے مالا مال ملک ہے اس لئے وطن عزیز میں معدنیا ت کے امور طے کرنے کے لئے معدنیات کی وزارت قائم کی گئی ہے۔ معدنیات میں سونا، چاندی، لوہا، تانبا اور نمک وغیرہ شامل ہیں۔ معدنیات کے ذخائر کسی بھی ملک کی ترقی و خوشحالی میں انتہائی مثبت کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔ مسلم ممالک میں معدنی ذخائر کی بھرمار ہے لیکن ملت اسلامیہ کا المیہ یہ ہے کہ یہ ممالک جدید سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی میں مغربی ممالک کے ہم پلہ نہ ہونے کےباعث اپنے معدنی ذخائر کے اخراج کے لئے ان کے زیر تسلط ہیں۔ جدید ٹیکنالوجی سے لیس ہونا ملت اسلامیہ کے لئے ایک چیلنج کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔

علم معدنیات (Mineralogy)

انسائیکلوپیڈیا آف بریٹانیکا میں علم معدنیات کی تعریف یوں بیان کی گئی ہے:

“Mineralogy: scientific discipline that is concerned with all aspects of minerals , including their physical properties , chemical composition, internal crystal structure , occurrence and distribution in nature , and their origins in terms of the physicochemical conditions of formation.”[3]

علم معدنیات سے مراد ایسا سائنسی علم ہے جس میں معدنیات کے بارے میں تمام پہلوؤں کا مطالعہ کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس میں معدنیات کےطبعی خواص، کیمیائی ساخت، اندرونی کرسٹل ڈھانچہ کی تشکیل وغیرہ کا احاطہ کیا جاتا ہے۔

Contemporary Challenges Regarding Muslim-Christian Dialogue and Its Solution in the Light of Nobel Sīrah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ

Islam recognizes the status and respect of other faiths and communities for socioeconomic and sociopolitical development. Therefore, the kind Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلمwas the first ever personality in the human history who accepted the identity of other faiths and involved them in state affairs of the city state of Madīnah in 610 CE/1AH. The citizens of the first Islamic State including Jews, Christians and Polytheists were treated as equal and respected citizens. The door of discussion and mutual cooperation were opened for all faiths and communities of the society. For that purpose, the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم set out some special parameters and principles of dialogue and interaction with other faiths. These principles may be freedom of religion, mutual respect and cooperation, interfaith tolerance, focus on common issues, active participation in state and social activities etc. The history is eye witness of this conduct that Muslim rulers and public care these principles and promote them in all ages of the Muslim governance. However due to some reason modern era have been observed of not being compatible with minorities in east as well as in the west. Categorically, they are having encounters with many difficulties, challenges and issues for security, rights and peaceful coexistence in all over the world. Unfortunately, Pakistan have also considered to be the part of hyper national and international sociological environment regarding minorities. In order to overcome these issues and challenges then we must follow the Prophet’s Seerahصلى الله عليه وسلم regarding interfaith dialogue and mutual cooperation in a pluralistic society like Pakistan. In this study, the efforts are made to explore contemporary challenges and its solution in light of the Seerah of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمfrom current sociopolitical context.

Impact of Leadership Styles & Innovative Behavior on Organizational Performance: An Empirical Investigation in Textile Sector of Pakistan

This study investigates the impact of leadership and innovative behavior on organizational performance in textile sector of Pakistan. The online survey method is adopted for data collection via questionnaire from different managerial level of textile organizations. Statistical analysis method is used for analysis of collected survey data from about 200 respondents via SPSS software. It was analyzed from the data that both transactional and transformational leadership style has a positive impact on organizational performance but transactional leadership was found to be more positive impact on organizational performance in textile sector as compared to transformational leadership. Similarly, innovative behavior also found to be positive towards organizational performance but of little impact in case of textile sector of Pakistan.
