This study investigates the reflection of Islamic values in Social sciences especially compulsory subjects of Islamiyat and Pakistan studies in 9th and 10th classes of Karachi, Pakistan. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between Islamic culture, concepts, values and course content of Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies at secondary (9th and 10th classes) level. The secondary purpose was to explore the goals and philosophy of education and its relation to the basic concept of Islam. The scope of the study was limited to secondary schools of Karachi. This study was an attempt to identify and study the cultural foundations and the religious values underlying the current educational system of Pakistan. This concept clarified through a scrutiny of the process of Islamic concept, which is already given in the textbooks of Islamiyat and Pakistan studies. This investigation cleared that through an effective educational system these values can be transferred in the new generation. For this purpose our curriculum for all levels should be prepared in the light of Islamic values especially the compulsory subjects of secondary (9th and 10th classes) level, which is the important stage of human development and these values are essential for individual moral and social training. The population of this study were the students of secondary (9th and 10th classes) level of Karachi city. By random sampling 100 schools had been selected. 600 respondents including 300 hundred male and 300 hundred female students were selected for collecting data. The researcher had also taken the interview of the different scholars. The data was collected with the help of research tools( ii ) questionnaire (consisted of 35 items), interviews and personal observation and the researcher presented the statistical analysis by the means of simple percentage and spears man’s co-relation method. Some recommendations had also been presented to solve the problem with the help of collected data. The results identified the importance of Islamic values and determined its reflection in the compulsory subjects of Islamiyat and Pakistan studies in 9th and 10th classes of Karachi city. In the light of conclusions it was recommended that meeting should be arranged by text book boards frequently for the review of text books and the text books should be written in the perspective of Islamic civilization. In this study it was clarified that aim and objectives of Islamic education is to provide such an educational system, which one is based on Holy Quraan and Sunnah and secondly it adopts the changes in the society on the issues, which are the fundamentals of Islam.

Identification of Factors Contributing to Primary Female Subfertility by Diagnostic Hystero-Laparoscopy: An Experience of Private Hospital

Background: Management of subfertility is influenced by the diagnosis of its causative factor. Combined diagnostic hystero-laparoscopy has emerged as an effective procedure in identifying causative factors of female subfertility. Objectives: This study aimed to identify contributory factors to primary female subfertility by diagnostic hystero-laparoscopy. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Hameed Latif hospital, Lahore, Pakistan from December 2021 to May 2022. Data was collected from 344 women with female primary subfertility, undergoing combined diagnostic hystero-laparascopy. All the demographic data along with identified causative factors (tubal blockade, cervical Os stenosis, endometrial polyp, uterine septum, uterine fibroid, endometriosis, peri tubal adhesions and polycystic ovaries) during the procedure were recorded in predesigned study proforma. Data were analyzed through SPSS software 23. Results: Mean age of the patients was 25±5.0 years and the mean duration of subfertility was 3.8+0.55 years. Two hundred and eighty-four (82.56%) patients had abnormal findings, while sixty (17.44%) had normal findings. Out of 284 patients, 94(34%) had one identified factor, while 190 (66%) patients had two or more identified factors for primary subfertility. Polycystic ovaries were seen in 128(37.21%) patients, followed by tubal blockade in 81(23.54%), peri tubal adhesions/hydrosalpinx in 58(16.86%) patients. Conclusions: Diagnostic hystero-laparoscopy is an effective diagnostic procedure for the evaluation of female factor subfertility and may be helpful to gynecologists in devising further management plans.

An Attempt Towards Teaching and Learning Using Personas

Teaching and Learning in the continuum of time is an oldest and will be the latest trait till the doomsday a human being shall encounter without any iota of doubt. It has been experienced that both teaching-learning are mutually exclusive traits yet the shared experience is result of various knowledge and psychologically driven aspects from both teachers and learners alike. Over the period, various teaching and learning theories have been developed by Social scientists and educationists which comprehensively cover all aspects of supervised and unsupervised modes of pedagogy. With E-technologies in place, the challenge of proper teaching and learning has opened up a plethora of issues primarily arguing on the diminishing layer of teachers by technology. The role of teacher is visualized more as intelligent content manager for e-learners. As a result in recent studies more emphasis has been given on learning management system (LMS) and multimedia technologies for content presentation. We have in this dissertation revisited the centuries old problem of mapping right role of teacher with intended learners‟ profile to maximize the best teaching-learning experience. As a result, contrary to few other researches which focused on enhancing e-learner experience, we have modeled using personas of the teachers and their changing roles by identifying the learners‟ behaviors. Using HCI‟s famous UCD approach personas of teachers based on famous Kolb‟s learning styles model has been developed. Comparisons and results were tested on university undergraduate students in a distance learning set up and in physical classroom set up. Analysis of results using Bayesian Networks was carried out showing that proper mapping of students‟ behavior in usage of e-learning system with varying roles of e-teacher is an area which enhances the overall pedagogical (teaching-learning) experience. Suggestions on improvement as identified through a literature as a major gap in e-learning solutions have been presented and concluded with.
