میری آنکھوں سے دیکھے کوئی بہار جہلم
دل و جان سے وہ ہوگا نثار جہلم
عشق الٰہی کا سمندر وہاں بہتا ہے
اِک مرد قلندر جہاں رہتا ہے
دُکھ درد غریبوں کے وہ سہتا ہے
سب کرتے ہیں تجھ سے پیار جہلم
تیرے باسی بہت ہی پیار والے ہیں
ان کے دل بہت ہی اُجالے ہیں
وہ ہراک کے کام آنے والے ہیں
تیرے منگلا میں بہتا ہے آبشار جہلم
مئے پینے سب جہلم کو جاتے ہیں
پیا بھر بھرجام سب کو پلاتے ہیں
پیا جب موج میں آتے ہیں
تو پیاسا نہیں رہتا کوئی میخوار جہلم
قادری سائیںؔ میخانے کے سہارے ہم جیتے ہیں
توحید و رسالت کی مئے ہم پیتے ہیں
دلبر کے سنگ جو دن بھی بیتے ہیں
یاد کرکے دل روتا ہے زارو نزار جہلم
Im?m Al Sh?f? Has great contribution towards grammatical and principled Arabic poetry. It is observed that his poetry is rich with ethical values. He gained his reputation at the same time as a Muslim jurist and a great man of wisdom. He is the writer of many books regarding Islamic jurisprudence, and a famous book of poetry “Deewan e Sh?f.” More over his books contain such ethical values in couplet mood. All of these discussed values, he truly abstracted and retrieved from the holy Quran and hadith. This article presents a special study regarding his valuable topics of ethics. The article is a comprehensive study of the ethical values found in the poetry of Al imam Al-Sh?f. The important ethical values of his poetry are: true advice of Muslim and knowledge positively. He also discussed some bad habits to aware the people about their bad impacts on nature and gives examples of their destructions in human beings. The purpose of the study is to critically analyse and compare English commentaries of the ‘ : (i) T‘s well as Non-Muslim scholars and (ii) T - ‘ The study is deli ‘ the study is inductive. First of all, a brief survey of the works of select scholars is given, and then their major works are critically analysed. The selected commentaries have been reviewed, and then there is a comprehensive analysis of certain important – iracles and stories (Qiṣ ṣ). In the review main features, strengths and weaknesses, of each work are also identified. Major conclusions of the study are: Muslim Commentators mainly focus on the traditions and classical literature. They address Muslim readers as well as Non-Muslim readers while providing explanatory notes. On the contrary, Non-Muslim commentators deal with the commentary as external commentators, and address general readers, considering them Non-Muslims only, as we shall find the approach of George Sale through this study. The recommendations are to conduct a follow-up study to compare most modern English ‘ respect to the currently relevant topics of faith, place of women, Muslim and Non-Muslim relations, etc.
