The present study was conducted to investigate the potential of antimicrobial activities of Paganum harmala and Cichorium intybus and biochemical profile under stress conditions. Seedling of Paganum harmala and Cichorium intybus were induced with fungus Aspergillus niger. The plant material was harvested at different dpi (day post inoculation) and extracted in 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH: 7.2). Protein content of all the harvested samples were determined by Bradford method and was found higher at dpi 3 and dpi 4. The different biochemical profile were also documented like peroxidase (POD), α-amylase, proteases and catalases. The selected extract was partially purified by gel filtration chromatography on sephadex G-200. Most of the extracts exhibited maximum antimicrobial activity against Fusarium solani, Aspergillus niger, Tricohderma harzianum, Helmenthosporium myedis and selected bacterial strain, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida and Bacillus subtilis. Gel filtration and ion exchange fractions were tested for antimicrobial activity and fraction with higher antimicrobial activity was subjected to SDS-PAGE. Significant results were observed for choloform extract with inhibition zone (26±0.6) mm of Cichorium intybus and n-butanol extract with zone of inhibition (22±0.04)mm of Paganum harmala respectively. On the basis of these phyotochemical screening, it is concluded that these medicinal plants were rich source of different biological active phytoconstituents. It was found conspicuous antimicrobial activity of different organic extracts. It was also depicted from the current study that the plant extracts also exhibited the antioxidant activity conducted on the pBR322 DNA induced by UV and H2O2. In addition, essential oil of these plants were extracted using super critical fluid extraction (SCFE) system. GC-MS analysis of essential oil of P. harmala and Cichorium intybus revealed 33 and 34 compounds respectively. These essential oils also showed highly significant antimicrobial activities against the selected microbial species. The current research study explored the selected medicinal plant in a very comprehensive fashion and presented their different medicinal and biological aspects. In future these results may be used for industrial scale extraction and isolation of different bioactive lead compounds using state of art techniques, which will find place in herbal industry and also be usable as natural biopreservative.

عبداللطیف تپش(۱۸۹۵ء ۔۱۹۴۳ء) لاہور میں پیدا ہوئے۔ منشی فاضل اور بی۔اے کے امتحانات پاس کرنے کے بعد کچھ عرصہ پنجاب ہائی کورٹ میں ملازمت کی۔ پھر گورنمنٹ انٹر کالج پسرور ضلع سیالکوٹ میں علومِ شرقیہ کے استاد مقرر ہوئے۔ پسرور میں ملازمت کے دوران مزید تعلیم کے لیے مطالعے کو جاری رکھا اور ایم ۔اے فارسی کا امتحان ۱عزاز کے ساتھ پاس کیا۔اس امتحان میں تپشؔ یونیورسٹی بھر میں اول رہے ۔ (۴۲۷) تپشؔ کو شعرو شاعری سے حد سے زیادہ دلچسپی تھی۔ ان کے اوقاتِ تدریس بڑے دلکشا اور معلومات افزا ہوتے۔ کالج میں بزمِ ادب کی جان ہوا کرتے تھے۔ گورنمنٹ کالج پسرور میں قیام کے دوران متعدد ادبی مجالس اور مشاعروں کا مقصد طلبا کے ذوق کی نشوونما اور فروغ زبان اُردو تھا۔ جو بدرجہ اتم ہوا اور کئی طالب علم شاعر بن گئے۔ گورنمنٹ کالج پسرور میں ۴ مارچ ۱۹۳۲ء کو ابو الاثر حفیظ جالندھری تشریف لائے تو کالج کے وائس پرنسپل پروفیسر سراج الدین آذر نے کالج سٹاف کا تعارف کراتے ہوئے عبداللطیف تپشؔ کے بارے میں کہا :

Although Imam Qusṭalānī, in compiling his book "Al-Mawāhib Al-Laduniyat Bil Minḥ Al-Muhammadiyah", has followed the footsteps of Qazi Ayaz’s book Al- Shifā. But many chapters and information are unique to them and he has expanded this book with his additions and made it a treasure trove of information. This book is a beautiful fusion of the traditions of Muhaddithin and Ahl-e-Siyyar. Because he was not only a muhaddith but also a biographer. Were his greatest service in the learning of Hadith is "Irshad Al-Sārī Sharh Saḥiḥ Bukhārī", there his most significant service in Sira is this book. He has used the traditions of both the narrators and the Biographers in compiling it. In this book, the locks of meanings are opened with the keys of Fatḥ Al-Bārī Li Ibn-e-Hajar ‘Asqalānī. In other words, he has benefited a lot from Fatḥ Al-Bārī Sharḥ Bukhari and has gained a lot of confidence. A large number of scholars have used this book, including Shiblī Nu‘mānī, who has made extensive use of it in his Sirat un-Nabiﷺ . Due to its popularity, many of its rates have been written. The most detailed of these is the Zurqānī rate of Qusṭalānī. The great scholar like Imam Zarqani has commented in eleven volumes of this book, which is proof of its authenticity, noteworthy, and worth reading and treasure. Sheikh Nūruddin Ṭrabulsī gave Sharh and great people like Safiuddin Qasashi, Burhanuddin Ibrahim Maimoni, Shamsuddin Muhammad Shobri Misri and Nooruddin Ali Qari embellished this book with their footnotes. On the one hand, it teaches love and respect for the Holy Prophet ﷺ and on the other hand, it mentions the rights of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and the rewards for their payment. The writing style of the book is simple and smooth as well as eloquent and eloquent. The temptation is not so long that the length will be too long for the reader, nor is it so short that access to the concepts and demands will not be possible due to the brevity. The book has been read by the people and it has been adopted by biographers as an authentic and reliable source. Because of its importance and usefulness, an introductory and analytical study of this book will be presented in this article.

Gardening Assistant.

This project involves the design and construction of an autonomous robot engineered to complete some basic maintenance tasks of a regular lawn. The primary aim of the task is to design and construct such a device, which if it functions accordingly, makes lawn maintenance easier and more efficient, while at the same time help save the gardeners from the scorching summer heat. Initially, individual subsystems of the device were designed and tested separately which included; blade design for grass trimming, water tank and valve for watering, encoder motors and microcontrollers for car motion and sensors for obstacle avoidance and autonomous navigation through the lawn. Thorough research on each subsystem has been conducted by the team. The team had to improvise, at times, to alternate solutions during the implementation phase in order to achieve more accurate and efficient results. Following development and research, some components have been assembled and tested, both, individually and in combination with other components. Early prototypes of these subsystems included the use of single microcontroller to control the four motors, and a magnetometer to navigate on a straight path. After testing of prototypes, the device has been modified to improve efficiency and overall functionality. Some components, including the magnetometer, have been removed and encoders of the motors are being read instead, to compute distance and accurate turning of the vehicle; whereas the single microcontroller has been replaced by five microcontrollers using the master slave methodology. In order to provide the scheduled rebooting and to include a rain detection mechanism, additional components have been added before final testing of the prototype device, such as the inclusion of a real-time clock and a rain-detection sensor. In the construction of the final device, materials have been used to improve stability, strength and waterproofing. A body structure made from a strong water-resistant chemical has been added to the final device to provide a rigid frame for components, while a stable wooden board has been 6 used as the base. Similarly, watering system used in the prototype has been fixed using the same chemical to prevent water leakage. A number of existing components have been arranged on and around this frame, including the ultrasonic sensors and the trimming blade. The device has been tested for four main cases which includes obstacle avoidance, boundary detection, automatic rebooting along with rain sensing and, grass trimming along with watering. The tests conducted on the final device yielded consistent results in terms of functionality and efficiency. Therefore, the performance of the device during future assessments is expected to be successful, provided no damage or unknown alterations occur prior to the assessment
