In well-planed experimental work, situation may arise where some observations are lost or destroyed or unavailable due certain reasons that arc beyond the control of the experimenter. Unavailability of the observations destroys the orthogonality and the balance of the design and also affects the inference. The purpose of this study is to assess the consequences of missing any combination of m observations (three in our case) of factorial, axial and centre points. The intensity of the consequences depends upon the size and type of the design. Generally smaller designs are more affected by the missing observations. We emphasized on various types of Central Composite Designs (CCDs) which includes Cuboidal, Spherical, Orthogonal, Rotatable, Minimum Variance, Box and Draper Outlier Robust Designs with an intention to introduce CCDs robust to in missing observations. It is observed that different relations occur between different combinations of three missing observations of factorial, axial and centre points and the determinant of the reduced information matrix{X''Xr), the main contributor in the definition of the loss of missing observation. This loss also depends the distance of the axial point from the center ol''the experiment (a), number of factors ( k ) and the position of the missing point. A complete sensitivity analysis is conducted by comparing the losses against all possible combinations of missing observations for a variety of a and k values, 1 .0 < a < 3.0; 2 < k < 0. These losses fall in predetermined groups of combinations producing same losses with a predictable frequency. I''or each configuration designs robust to one, two and three missing observations arc developed under the mininiaxloss criterion and are termed as minimaxlossl . minimaxloss2 and minimaxloss3 respectively. The minimaxloss3 design for each k value are compared w-ith other CCD counterparts. If the loss of missing in observations approaches one, the design breaks down. To avoid this breakdown and as a precautionary measure certain influential points in the design are additionally replicated when there are higher chances of loosing them. The replication of factorial or axial points depends on the values of a and k. It not only refrain the design from breaking down but helps in improving the efficiency of the design by reducing the loss.

We, the Muslims claim that Quran is a miraculous book. Right from the first day of its revelation it has been challenging its opponents. All those who are in doubt about it to be the word of Allah., have been challenged to produce even a single Surah (chapter) like this. But so far no body could accept this challenge. And it is the greatest miracle of Quran that it has over powered its opponents. With the passage of time new aspects of Quranic miracles were discovered and factuality and righteousness of Quran was proven. With the emergence of experimental and sensory sciences in 20 Century, Quran had to face a new challenge. But here too a new aspect of Quranic miracle was exposed, and that is ” the scientific miracles of Quran” Different aspects of Quranic miracles exposed in different periods. Role of Extension Services on Production of Sugarcane in District Mardan and Charsadda: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Pakistan

Sugarcane is the most important cash crop in Pakistan; however, yield ha-1 is low. The present study was started to investigate in the year 2012 in order to examine the role of extension services in promoting sugarcane production, analyze the existing techniques of extension services, identify the main factors responsible for un-satisfactory performance of extension services of sugarcane production and finally compare the present yield against high yielding varieties. Two districts: Mardan and Charsadda (famous and most important sugarcane growing areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) were purposively selected as sample frame locations for this research. Multi-stage sampling methods were used to collect data from 336 sugarcane growers through pre-tested interview schedule. T-test and chi-square test were conducted to treat multivariate variables. The study concentrated on the views of share croppers, owner cultivator, owner–cum tenant and tenant farmers keeping in view their landholding factors. Majority (80 %) of the farmers was illiterate and depended on fellow farmers for information on new technologies of sugarcane. The information was not only primitive but also scientifically un-recommended. Because of high rates of illiteracy, the farmers could not be benefitted from the new information on sugarcane technologies disseminated by electronic and print media. Consequently the sugarcane yield remained low and could not increase. The sugarcane growers could not get the modern technological information on sugarcane from the Extension Department for a number of reasons: the limited visits by the extension workers to the sugarcane growers’ fields (may be because of insufficient staff, lack of transport facilities and absence of check and balance system) as majority of farmers were still growing the outdated varieties. The Agriculture Extension Department was also responsible for non-provision of HYV of sugarcane, information on IPM, weed control, recommended doses and use of recommended insecticides and pesticides of sugarcane crop. The major problems faced by sugarcane growers were shortage of irrigation water (canals and tube wells), lack of well-organized water management systems, exploitation of sugar mills and input unavailability (such as chemicals and machineries at the right time). The farmers still use the outdated chemicals such as Regind, Millathian and Puradan. It is recommended that required inputs may be made available in the local market at reasonable prices when needed by the farmers. An improved sugarcane package may be developed by the Agricultural Extension Department and not only publicize it but also distribute the package to the farmers on their doorsteps in the form of literature to guide them in a perfect sense by using important methods during demonstration sessions. Subsidy on inputs and prices of Agricultural Machinery may be provided to the farming community rather than exploiting under the umbrella of Government supervision.
