Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is emerging as multiple drug resistant (MDR) pathogens in milk of camels with characteristically zoonotic potential. Current study was planned to investigate epidemiology of MDR S. aureus in camel milk, and in-vitro therapeutic response to drugs. Two different ecological zones, Cholistan and Suleiman Range of Pakistan having major population of she-camels were screened for subclinical mastitis using California mastitis test using convenient sampling technique. Biochemical examination was performed to isolate S. aureus that further were tested Penicillin, Glycopeptide, and Cephalosporin classes of antibiotics for confirmation of MDR isolates using disk diffusion method. MDR were tested in-vitro for response against various antibiotics. A questionnaire was filled for estimation of association of assumed risk factors with prevalence. Nonparametric tests at 5% probability were applied to check significance of results. The study noted overall 33.98% (123/362) of MDR S. aureus from subclinical mastitis milk samples while 123 of 192 S. aureus isolates (64.06%) were confirmed MDR. Non-significantly higher prevalence of MDR was noted in Cholistan area (38.38%) than to that of Suleiman Range (29.98%) on subclinical mastitis samples basis Similarly 66.36% of S. aureus isolates from Cholistan area and 61.18% from Suleiman Range were presented themselves as MDR. Oxacillin, Cefoxitin and Ampicillin faced 100% resistance while Vancomycin, Cefixime and Cefotaxime had >78 % of resistance from MDR isolates from both study areas. However, Trimethoprim and Ciprofloxacin were > 90%, Chloramphenicol >69%, and Gentamycin 61-67.3%, Streptomicin 61-73.07% and Oxytetracycline 69-71.15%, Enoxacin 45.07 and 53.84% and Amikacin 43.6 and 51.92% effective against MDR. Older age of animals, higher California mastitis score, weak body condition, higher milk yield, early lactation, teat injury, higher parity number, tick infestation, self-treatment and higher use of penicillin in general ailments had positive association with MDR prevalence. The study concluded higher prevalence of MDR S. aureus in camel milk with significant association of assumed risk factors and some of antibiotics presented higher scope of treatment.
The position of poetry remained unchanged in Islam as it was before Islam, however with due some changes it was used as a weapon for the sake of Islam. This article will explain that how the poetry played a vital role in preaching of Islam. Islam absolutely encourages good wholesome poetry, which inspires one towards the fear of Allah, towards His awe and obedience, and towards anything that is good and made permissible by Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ). Following discussions are made in this article: Firstly Qur’anic views towards poetry; as the word poet came in Qur’an four times while the word poetry once. The total verses in which we see the word poetry are six. Secondly preaching of ethics through poetry; as we see that before Islam the Arab society was without any ethics, the Muslim poet called them for an exemplary life like of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) Using of Qur’anic notion in poetry. Thirdly the Qur’anic notion was used largely in the beginning of Islam, especially by Ḥassān bin Thābit, ʻAbdullāh Bin Rawāḥah, Kaʻb Bin Zubayr and Nābighah Al Jaʻdī etc. Fourthly Answer to non-believers through poetry; as Ḥassān bin Thābit did through his poetry, and answer to the opposition, which impacts more sharp than sword and lastly using of Poetry during the war; it was considered as one of the biggest source for encouraging towards holly wars, the example of Haḍrat Khansā is most prominent. The research article basically focuses upon the importance of poetry in Islam, moreover how the weapon of poetry has been used by Islamic poets for defending Islam and how Islamic poetry vastly used for spreading of golden teachings of Islam.
This research was an attempt to find out the current practice of teachers' performance appraisal of a community-based school and its implications for management's role in implementing the appraised processes effectively. Appraisal is generally used for both accountability and professional development. This mostly depends on the school's objectives for carrying out the appraisal. It is noted that teachers get uncomfortable and feel threatened by the performance appraisal process. This could be for two main reasons: (a) when the objectives of appraisal exercises are not made clear to the teachers, they do not know what this would lead to; (b) teachers become threatened if they know that, the school will use the findings to decide about teachers annual increments and promotions. Literature, however, suggests that performance appraisal should be for teachers' professional development. The exercise should be a road map for teachers and finding should help teachers to grow professionally. I carried out an exploratory case study to find out the current practices of carrying out teachers' performance appraisal of a particular school; their perceptions about the teachers' performance appraisal and to know whether the findings of teachers' performance appraisal enabled the teachers to grow professionally. The findings of the study revealed that, the teachers associated the performance appraisal not with professional growth but with the amount of increment in salary, dismissal in case of poor performance and promotion or demotion. However, there are different perceptions about the utility of appraisal among the stakeholders. Some relate this to professional development, others categorize the teachers in A' and B' category and based on this categorizes give increments. It was evident that the purpose of the practice is not clear to teachers. Appraisers do not negotiate and inform the details on which teachers are appraised. There are no pre and post appraisal meetings to discuss teachers' progress and future needs. Also there is lack of clarity about the purpose and objectives of being appraisal In view of the findings and considering the importance of the performance appraisal exercise, this dissertation recommends that objectives of teachers' performance appraisal be shared with teachers; the system should be more transparent and proper procedure of appraisal should be followed to gain maximum benefit from it and give qualitative feedback to the teachers.
