In Pakistan, currently 38 species of the genus Artemisia (Asteraceae) have been identified so far. These Artemisia species were found in different phytogeographical regions including the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. In this doctoral thesis, emphasis have been given to the ethnobotany, floral morphology, foliar epidermal anatomy (Epidermal cells/stomata types and diversity in trichomes), pollen morphology, phytogeography and molecular phylogeny of Artemisia species from Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. This study explored some rare species of the genus Artemisia and their folk medicinal uses from Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The areas with deprived documentation of traditional information were covered and the native traditional medicinal awareness of the Artemisia species was acknowledged. For the first time in this investigation, 15 Artemisia species were explored and presented in the form of plates. These ethnobotanicaly important species were, Artemisia absinthium L., Artemisia annua L., Artemisia austriaca Jacq., Artemisia biennis Willd., Artemisia campestris L., Artemisia chamaemelifolia Vill., Artemisia herba-alba Asso., Artemisia indica Willd., Artemisia maritima L. Ex Hook. F., Artemisia rutifolia sub sp., Artemisia rutifolia var., Artemisia scoparia Waldst. & Kit., Artemisia sieversiana Ehrhl. Ex Willd., Artemisia verlotiorum Lamotte., and Artemisia vulgaris L. The native people of different regions of Gilgi-Baltistan uses different parts of these Artemisia species as food, ornaments, fuel and for medicinal purposes and were employed against more than 30 different kinds of ailments. The morphology of this genus is very complex and difficult to address. This is because the same species shows different forms under certain ecological conditions. Therefore, it was a dire need to revise the morphology of Artemisia species from Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. In this study, 66 morphological characters of 20 Artemisia species were nominated for the cladistics analysis of genus Artemisia. The consequential cladogram divided genus Artemisia into five major clades. Subgenus Artemisia and subgenus Absinthium were dispersed between the clades of other sections and appeared as a polyphyletic. All the remaining sections were found to be monophyletic. Subgenus Seriphidium was grouped with Artemisia clade which authenticates its recombination with the genus Artemisia. The micro-morphological attributes of foliar epidermal cells of 19 Artemisia species and stomata types of 17 Artemisia species using SEM and LM were evaluated. Primary

Teaching Challenges Using the Zoom Application That Focuses on Student Concentration in Online Classrooms

The fast advancement in information technology stimulates educational creativity as well. Learning and training practices are often not only carried sout in the traditional manner, but also with the usage of a multitude of learning technologies options. The zoom program is one of the learning resources used in online courses. Zoom was an application developed during the Covid-19 timeframe to address the limitations between educators and students, especially in terms of space and time. With E-learning, educators and students are not limited to one dimension of time and space, and learning will run and neglect both. Learning by simulated children's attention, on the other hand, causes disruption in the learning phase. During the learning phase, students must maintain a high level of concentration. The level of concentration of students has a significant impact on the learning process' outcomes. Since attitude and focus have a beneficial association, high focus may often affect a person's attitude in a learning phase in order to produce optimal performance. Many factors may affect a person's attention, one of which is the learning environment. A peaceful atmosphere can undoubtedly improve a person's concentration level, while a silent / noisy environment will exacerbate one's focus during the learning phase.

Detection of Outlying Observations Using the Dixons Approach

Extremely deviating outcomes, in the sample are termed as outliers, they give faulty measures and the results in wrong directioned conclusions. The backbone of this work is based on the study of outliers, categorized here into Static and Dynamic models. Concerning the ’Static Statistical Distributions’, a novel approach for normally distributed data had been developed by J. W. Dixon in 1950’s. The first half of the study uses the same idea by arranging the data set in ascending order for the particular cases where samples are comming out of either • Uniform distribution, or • Exponential distribution. For the procedure of hypothesis testing, the percentage points have been constructed separately for both distributions. Comming towards the second half, ’the Dynamic models’, main concern of the study is on Box and Jenkin’s model. Additive white noise in time discrete differential equation as a special case of ARMA(p, q) model has been considered. The special form of variancecovariance matrix enable us to develop a new procedure for the detection of outlier while working with Poisson Process. The likelihood estimation, originally proposed by Fox (1972) has been used with the assumption of known autoregressive parameters. Through the characteristic function, the distribution of the test has been evaluated. For unknown autoregressive parameters, Yule-Walker and Whittle estimation procedures have been discussed briefly. ’Kalman Filtering’ recursive method opens broader ways for the parameter estimation as well as for outlier detection. Some supporting practical examples for the new test have also been discussed.
