The whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius; Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) is a highly invasive insect pest and is considered a cryptic species complex. This study was conducted to investigate the diversity and distribution of whiteflies of the B. tabaci species complex in Pakistan, and also to investigate the diversity endosymbionts and viruses harboured. Using a well-established, PCR-based cloning and sequencing of a mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) marker, six biotypes Asia II 8, Asia II 7, Asia II 5, Asia II 1, Asia 1, and MEAM 1” were identified in Pakistan. Asia II-1 was found to be the most common biotype present and thus may possibly be the most important vector of the begomovirus complex which causes cotton leaf curl disease in Pakistan. The study also highlighted changes in the prevalent biotypes in some regions in the country. Using the 16S general and specific primers, in conjunction with sequencing, six endosymbionts (Arsenophonus, Cardinium, Hamiltonella, Rickettsia, and Wolbachia) were identified. Arsenophonus found to be associated with Asia II-1 while Hamiltonella was associated with the MEAM-1. The presence and prevalence of each symbiont varied in different biotypes and also varied between regions. Endosymbionts are important in virus-vector interactions. A number of distinct begomovirus species were identified with Cotton leaf curl Burewala virus, the most prevalent virus causing CLCuD in Pakistan at this time, the frequently identified. The levels of viral and betasatellite DNA were measured at 2 weekly intervals in B. tabaci collected from cotton using a quantitative PCR assay during the cotton growing seasons of 2014, 2015 and 2016. Although there were differences between the three years, in general, it was found that the level of betasatellite rises during the cotton growing season whereas the level of virus initially rises and then decreases at the end of the season. For both virus and betasatellite the DNA levels are very low initially, when there are no CLCuD symptoms in the crop, indicating that the initial inoculum is low. This comprehensive study provides the basis for the design of vector/virus control strategies which can be tested using the methodologies devised and implemented during the study.
Dietary rules and regulations may govern particular phases of the human life cycle and may also be associated with special events. Dietary Laws are grounded into the religious thought, and anyone expects logical clarifications for the continuation and determination of these rules in light of the respective religious tradition. The Semitic religions: orthodox Jews, Christians and Muslims have undoubtedly directed their adherents about the foodstuff “meat” with particular terms and conditions. This study attempts to define the similarities and differences between Halal and Kashrut (Kosher) in the light of their religion's commandments. The study confined to the Holy Scriptures. A comparative approach has been applied to these dietary practices. Moreover, it was found that Halal constitutes a different dietary law (Shariah) than Kashrut and vice versa. Even though similarities are found but it does not permit for the statutes to be usually supposed as reflection of each other. This analytical work will provide theoretical orientation; make reference to relevant theoretical and empirical literature for adequate clarification and comprehension where needed. To avoid pointless details, only the verse number mentioned in footnotes and extracted commands are just mentioned in the article. Qualitative research methodology has been adopted about the dietary laws about animals in Semitic Religions.
Community plays an important role for the improvement of education through its involvement in the schools. They support teachers to resolve their problems and encourage their children to get quality education. Community/parental involvement declare that when parents become committed and involved in the schools, academic achievement and school satisfaction increases. This study aimed to explore the causes of lack of community participation in the schools for the improvement of education to its children. This study was conducted in the Public Sector schools in the rural context of Chilas Diamer District of Gilgit-Baltistan. I applied qualitative paradigm using exploratory case study for this study. In order to know the causes of lack of community participation, one Head teacher, SMC Chairman, Religious leader, one Parent, SMC member and one Teacher were selected as research participants. I used electronic device for data and each participant was interviewed which lasted more than 35 minutes. All interviews were conducted in comfortable zone and before recording they were given consent form for putting their signature. After that, all interviews were transcribed and some common themes were identified which were barrier to community involvement in the school for quality education to its children. The findings show that community of the area is illiterate and does not know its role in the school. Moreover, due to poor economic condition, lack of awareness, motivation, conflicts/confusion among teachers and community members, impact of culture, environmental problem, contextual problems and societal problems that influence lack of community participation in the schools for quality education for its children.
