The work presented in this thesis addresses the dynamical control systems regarding manufacturing, industrial processing and transportation, in local and distributed environment adapting simplified design techniques. This enhances the control strategies giving multi-agents based autonomous capabilities. A new design model of fuzzy logic discrete event (DEV) control system under time constrain is proposed and implemented for industrial applications. Three systems: grinding and mixing fuzzy logic time control system, liquids mixing fuzzy logic time control system, and multi- dimensional supervisory control industrial processing system using fuzzy time control are designed. In this regard, a simplified design approach is adapted to reduce the complexity of memory based fuzzy systems and to enhance the controllability and stability of the systems. Design of: fuzzifier, inference engine, rule base, deffuzifiers, and DEV control system, is discussed. Time control fuzzy rules are formulated, applied and tested using MATLAB simulation for the systems. The simulation results of each proposed application are found in agreement with the design based calculated results. For vehicles automation, multi-agents based autonomous railway vehicles control model is designed. In this regard, a new speed scheduling, management and control model is established to meet the requirements of modern autonomous train systems. This research work proposes to develop a novel control system to enhance the efficiency of the vehicles under constraints of various conditions: hard conditions; junction track condition, track clearance, and crossing gates condition, flexible conditions; environment monitoring, track condition, and tilting condition. Various development techniques to establish the multi-agents based autonomous railway vehicles control system are discussed and proposed for implementation using high tech microelectronics technology. The design and simulation work is carried out at the laboratories of GC University Lahore Pakistan, and The School of Electronics and Engineering-SEE, Edinburgh University U.K during research fellowship to work with system level integration group SLIg using MATLAB-simulink, and Xilinx 10.1 suit for ISE and DSP tools.

Establishment of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard means supremacy of the dictates of shari‘ah and socio-political justice on earth. This is one of the basic objectives and prominent messages of the Holy Quran and Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). About khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard the Holy Quran expresses as: -وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُم فِي الأَرْضِ … -الَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرُوا بِالمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَلِلَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الأُمُورِ. -هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ شَهِيداً. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) proclaims: - وَاَللَّهِ لَوْ وَضَعُوا الشَّمْسَ فِي يَمِينِي وَالْقَمَرَ فِي يَسَارِي عَلَى أَنْ أَتْرُكَ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ حَتَّى يُظْهِرَهُ اللَّهُ أَوْ أَهْلِكَ فِيهِ مَا تَرَكْتُهُ. The Holy Quran and the Seerah refer to some underlying milestones on the way of religious nations to status of khalafah and tamkeen fin ‘ard. These milestones may be expressed in an order as: da‘wah [preaching], deen [practices of prophetic teachings], hijrah [migration], ma‘iyyat-ul-Allah [companionship of Allah], qital [wars], nusrat-ul-Allah [divine aid], izhar-ud-deen [domination of deen] and khilafah [inheritance of authority]. This is noteworthy that journey of khalafah and tamkeen fin ‘ard begins with da‘wah [preaching towards deen] and passing through various milestones ends up again at da‘wah, as obvious from ayat-ul-istakhlaf quoted above. Therefore, the seekers of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard should strive hard and keep struggling with the work of da‘wah with dedication in all circumstances and all means as per time and place requirements in lined with the modus operandi of Prophets, particularly Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), instead of awaiting the status of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard as prerequisite to start with the work of da‘wah and establishment of deen. This paper primarily aims to elaborate the milestones of Muslim Ummah to reach to the status of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard. It also cast light on the objectives of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard. This work provides useful guidance to Muslim Ummah in general and Ahlud da‘wah in particular about milestones and objectives of khilafah and tamkeen fil ‘ard.
This study examines the influence of board control on the firm performance. The board structure, board power,
board communication, board meetings are the predictors of a firm performance. The objective is to investigate
either there exist an association between the firm performance and the selected predictors. For measuring the
performance, sales of the textile firms have been used and 250 textile firms of Faisalabad are used as sample
and for collecting the data convenient sampling method have been used. For collecting the data five point Likert
scale questionnaire is used and descriptive statistics in which mean and standard deviation is calculated on the
response data. Pearson correlation and simple linear Regression and multiple linear regression methods have
been applied to test the hypothesis.
The purpose of the first research hypothesis is to explore whether any significant relationship between the
board structure and firm performance is found or not. The simple linear regression has been used in which
significant result and positive coefficient indicates that positive association between the board structure and
the firm performance is observed. Further to check the association between the board power and firm
performance simple linear regression is used which also indicates significant result. Simple linear regression
and significant relationship between the board communication and firm performance is confirmed. The simple
linear regression results indicate that there is significant association between the board meeting and firm
performace.The last research hypothesis has significant relationship between the firm performance and board
structure, board power, board communication and board meeting. The multiple linear regression model is used
and the assumption of multiple regression has also diagnosed the linearity and normality of the data and found
that data is following the assumption of multiple linear regression.
It is concluded that well defined board structure and authorized and responsible board of directors that used
their power for the long term decision and keep an eye on the management increase performance of the firm.
The strong communication system among different levels of management and the board of directors and the
increase in the frequency of board meetings boost the performance of the firm.
