Among viral diseases , Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) is one of the main transboundary small ruminant diseases. PPR is an acute disease, highly contagious with clinical signs of high grade fever, occulonasal dischargea, necrotizing and erosive stomatitis, intestinal mucosal damage and pneumonia, with morbidity and mortality rate 100 and 90% respectively. Present study was designed to conduct seroepidemiological study of PPR virus in sheep and goat in the Punjab province. A total of 800 serum samples were collected from selected areas from sheep (n=400) and goat (n=400) from population of the selected areas. In the five districts including Faisalabad, Attock, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Kasur were sampled and the samples were divided proportionately based on population size of the respective districts. Results showed that disease frequency was higher during winter days and maximum seroprevalence was detected in December, followed by May and September the trend was observed to decline in the month of July. Different risk factors affecting prevalence of PPR were investigated by the help of Participatory epidemiological investigations. Further, with the help of molecular epidemiology and by using PPRV specific F gene the molecular nature of the virus was analyzed. Moreover, the efficacy and protective ability of PPR vaccines under field conditions were evaluated in sheep and goats. The first part of the study focused upon investigating the epidemiological parameters and its association with the PPR disease in Pakistan. The second part of my study focused to detect the anti-PPRV antibodies in sheep and goat population in Pakistan. The serum samples were subjected to c-ELISA to detect antibodies directed against the nucleoprotein of the Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) virus The overall seroprevalence calculated on the basis of c-ELISA was found to be61 % in sheep and 44% in goats although no significant difference was found between these two species. In the third phase specimen samples (Lymph nodes, Spleen, Nasal swabs) were collected by attending different out breaks in the selected districts, these samples were evaluated by RT-PCR. Sequencing and phylogentic analysis of the samples were performed. Prevalence of PPR virus detected by RT-PCR was 62.8 and 63.9% in sheep and goat, respectively. In present study difference between sheep and goat prevalence is non-significant. In the F gene phylogenetic relationship the sequence in study clustered with sequence pattern from Pak 09 with accession no. (FN996973.1), Bhutan 10 (FR667649.1) and Bangladesh 2000 (FR667556.1), branching pattern. In the present study maximum predilection site of the virus was found in lymph node (100%) followed by spleen (100%) and nasal swab (62.85%) from sheep. The goats of eastern Punjab districts showed maximum detection (100%) followed by southern Punjab district (88.88%). In the final phase of the study, antibody titre of sheep and goats were evaluated by using technique of indirect haemagglutination (IHA). Two vaccines were used in the trial containing Nigerian 75/1 strain used for commercial purpose vaccination in the country. A non-significant difference was present between two vaccine responses in present trial and both vaccines were equally effective. In conclusion the PPR prevalence ratio is increasing in sheep and goat population of Punjab. The F gene of PPRV can be used for the detection of PPR disease and lymph node is the prime organ for virus detection in sheep and goat.

Ontemporary modern interest-bearing financial system, “economicsystem”, has become an integral part and the prevalent system reflects that in the modern progressive era of growth where other arts have seen progress than in the old days the modern interest bearing system has become a part of the financial development. Interest in the present era has being understood as a direction for financial growth and development of economy hence in some way or the other been tried to be enforced in to the Islamic world such that it becomes a need and no country can live without. And the objectives of this interest bearing system can meet their targets. In Muslim countries minds that do not have deep commitment with Islamic teaching have been convinced in a way that in the ancient days this level of interest was not needed as in the present era. So, on the interest of present day “riba” can’t be applied whose prohibition is proved by Islamic law. The impression that interest is the need of modern times in ancient times to modern times thislevel of interest is not required, nor was there any specifically organized circle like today concept the financial system may be of interest not only if favor of contemporary practice in the present, but also an extremely ancient system was out there and have some evidence of old banking practices. This article, with the vividness of ancient religions, has proved that “interest” in antiquity is as same as of today. The form of interest and its impacts aren’t get changed by the change in ancient or current business practices. Interest is interest, whether it is found in ancient religions or at theadvent of Islam or even after that in the modern day. It embodies the same “riba” whose prohibition is proved in the Islamic sharia.

Incorporation of Social and Morel Values Through Secondary School Curriculum: A Content Analysis

This study was conducted to explore incorporation of social and moral values through the secondary school curriculum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The study revolved around the following research questions: What are the social and moral values included in the secondary school textbooks? What are the important social and moral values missing in the secondary school textbooks? What are the benefits of inclusion of social and moral values in the textbooks at secondary school level? Data were collected from two sources: Secondary school textbooks and Secondary School Teachers. Four textbooks of the compulsory subjects (Urdu, Pakistan Studies, English and Islamiat) of the secondary classes and Secondary School Teachers of district Mansehra who taught compulsory subjects comprised the population of the study. The sample of the study consisted of twenty four lessons from the textbooks and twelve Secondary School Teachers. To collect data about social and moral values from Secondary School Teachers semi-structured interviews were used. Textbooks of secondary classes and transcribed interviews of twelve secondary school teachers were examined in the light of the operational definitions of social and moral values by applying qualitative content analysis technique. The entire data were coded and categories were formed from the codes. Codes were grouped into categories: social and moral values. Peer/expert debriefing was used to review and assess the data to enhance the validity and reliability of the analysis process and findings. The findings of the study revealed that the secondary school textbooks contained social values like equality, human rights, service of humanity, regard for one‟s family, dignity of labour and charity. The textbooks also contained moral values like truth, honesty, obedience, faith and sacrifice. Social and moral values were associated with human behaviour on the xvi basis of which good or bad behaviour of individuals and their adjustment in a society can be judged. Some important social and moral values, however, seemed lacking in the books. These include values such as responsibility, hard work, obedience to the law, unity, patriotism and universal brotherhood and moral values such as virtue, good manners, submission, moderation and patience. The study, therefore, recommends that these values may be incorporated in the secondary school textbooks for a more wholesome education and character development of the students.
