This project was designed to define the prevalence and associated risk factors of ticks and tick-borne theileriosis and comparative efficacy of various over-the-counter acaricidal and anti-theilerial compounds at the small holder dairy farming system of district Toba Tek Singh (T.T. Singh), Punjab, Pakistan. Questionnaire based stratified random sampling was used for the screening of animals. Blood and tick samples were collected from 4608 animals for assessing the level of theilerial infections in both tick and host population during November 2010 to October 2012. The overall prevalence of ticks was recorded 52.14% (2403/4608) in cattle and buffaloes of study area. However, the abundance was found significantly higher in cattle as compared with buffaloes. Among the identified species of ticks, Hyalomma (H.) anatolicum (a.) anatolicum was found significantly predominant followed in order by Rhipicephalus (R.) microplus and R. sanguineus. The overall theilerial infection in the acini of tick salivary glands was recorded 20.85% (1126/5400). H. a. anatolicum (62.56%; 1126/1800) was the only infected tick specie in the study area. Methyl pyronine green (MPG) stain, female ticks, riverine area, infesting attitude and cattle specie were found having positive association with theilerial infections in tick acini. The overall prevalence of bovine tropical theileriosis was found 49.87% (2298/4608) in cattle and buffaloes of the study area with higher prevalence in cattle. Theileria (T.) annulata was the only prevalent specie. Among various associated determinants of a) host, Friesian breed of cattle, Kundi breed of buffaloes, female sex, young age and cattle population b) microclimate, grazing system, tethering of animals, close housing, poor hygienic measures, mixed farming practices, un-cemented floor pattern, pond watering system, tehsil Kamalia and c) macroclimate, rainy season were found having positive correlation with the bovine tropical theileriosis. Hematological analysis showed statistically a significant decrease in mean haemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, red blood cells count, white blood cells count, neutrophils (P<0.001), serum total bilirubin and active serum enzyme, while a significant increase was recorded in lymphocyte count (P<0.001), corpuscular volume, serum total protein and albumin. Participatory epidemiological investigation revealed highest trend of farmers towards the quacks for consultancy and their therapeutic concerns towards ethnoveterinary medicine with Decoctions as drug of choice. The combined effect of ivermectin and buparwaquone was found the best in order followed by amitraz + oxytetracyclene and cypermethrine + Calotropis procera. The total economic losses of 3.23 million rupees have been calculated in the present study.

An Analytical Study of the Ibn-e-Teymiyah’s Usooli Distinctions

The very existence of theology was a prelude to the competition of philosophy and the support of religion. Other religions, for the sake of legitimacy of their religion, have been raising objections to Islam in all respects. The mixture of nations, non-Arab influences, the negligent rhetoric of scholars and shaykhs, and the erroneous beliefs and practices of the people were tarnishing the clean face of Islam. In the time of Ibn Taymiyyah, there was an emphasis on theology. Theologians specialize in their knowledge and art of rationalism and logic. Their method consisted of reasoning and inference, rational and logical proofs. In contrast to them, the Hanbalis were holding the line of reasoning from the apparent meaning of verses and hadiths and texts. In the case of debates and debates, the weight of the theologians would be heavy and the opponent would be considered ignorant. Ibn Taymiyyah paid homage to the authenticity and supremacy of the Qur'an and Sunnah in such a way that he made critical commentary and analysis on philosophy and Greek logic and reasoned weaknesses and errors. One-half or two-thirds of his total writing services on the subject of speech and logic. This shows that Ibn Taymiyyah was feeling the need of defending Islam in this regard because in his time these sciences and arts had become very popular and common practice. The far-reaching effects of his thoughts and opinions in this regard have been felt in every age. The issues in which he has differed are the result of his research, jurisprudence and ijtihad, and constant reflection. The basis and foundation of which is the Quran and Sunnah, the interaction of companions and speculation. In these Ijtihad issues of hiss, there is a collection of arguments and proofs related to the Quran and Sunnah. In this article, an introductory and analytical study of Ibn Taymiyyah's fundamental differences will be presented.

Role of Ngos in the Promotion of Elementary Education in Kp.

The elementary education in Pakistan was focused even from the creation of Pakistan but the previous successive Govt: could not give appropriate value to elementary education practically. The size of the problem has become now so huge that it cannot be solved merely through Govt. efforts until and unless the participation of every individual is ensured in these efforts against illiteracy. The NGOs started efforts to fight along the govt: and extended helping hand in the matter to support the elementary education. The research study is carried out to see the contribution of NGOs in promoting the elementary education in the southern districts of khyber pakhtunkhwa. The study is descriptive in nature & researcher self-developed questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The population of the study consisted of all the elementary schools teachers and educational administrative heads in public sector schools of the six districts. For this purpose, 573 samples (370 teachers and 203 heads) were randomly selected as respondents. For statistical treatment, computer based software known as Statistical Package for Social Sciences (S.P.S.S) version 20 was applied. Mean, t-test, standard deviation, one-way ANNOVA and tukey test were used for analysis of data. The responses of teachers and administrative heads of formal as well as non-formal sector showed significant positive views about the role of NGOs in the promotion of elementary education in regard to all five variables “support to school”, “support to parents”, “support to students” and “support to co-curricular activities”. Significance difference was found between the views of male and female teachers regarding the efficiency of NGOs in supporting teachers at elementary level. Gender did not differentiate the NGOs efficiency in “support to school”, “support to parents”, “support to students” and “support to co-curricular activities”. Significance difference was found between the views of rural and urban teachers regarding the efficiency of NGOs. On the whole it is concluded that despite few reservations made by the respondents about some initiatives of NGOs, over all NGOs are performing a valuable role in promoting elementary education and producing conducive environment in public sector schools of KP. The staff of NGOs may be properly trained in streamlining the matters of schools of formal as well as non-formal in a more efficient way.
