On an overall basis, fifteen species were recorded from four selected districts during 2016-17. However, populated area proved to more infested followed by agricultural and industrial area. Rawalpindi depicted as more diversified district as compared to Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad.A huge number of insecticides are used for the control of agricultural pests and household pests, such as mosquitoes, with the application of over and under doses in Punjab, Pakistan. Moreover, after the dengue epidemic that occurred during 2010, insecticides were sprayed in huge amounts and at high doses in major cities of Punjab to control mosquitoes. This also resulted in insecticidal resistance in mosquitoes. Mosquitocidal assays of larvae (in beakers) and adults (impregnated papers) were evaluated after 24 h. The bioassay data showed Temephos, Fenitrothion, Malathion, Pirimiphos Methyl, Cypermethrin, Deltamethrin, Permethrin and Bendiocarb lethal concentration (LC50) for 50 percent mortality of Ae. aegypti, Cx. quinquefasciatus and An. Stephensi susceptible population (SS) compared with field populations of Faisalabad (FSD), Sialkot (SKT), Rawalpindi (RWP) and Lahore (LHR). The larvicidal LC50 value of temephos ranged from 0.007 to 0.416 ppm. In the case of adulticides, three groups of insecticides were applied to papers and used against different populations collected from populated, agricultural and industrial areas of Lahore (LHR), Rawalpindi (RWP), Sialkot (SKT) and Faisalabad (FSD). Pyrethroids demonstrated the lowest effective concentration among the tested pesticides (organophosphates & carbamates). Among the pyrethroid group, deltamethrin was recorded as being the most toxic (0.483 – 9.245 ppm), followed by cypermethrin (1.839 – 33.139 ppm) and permethrin (5.145 – 101.533 ppm). ppm. The chi-squared value showed no heterogeneity across all the experiments. The results also indicated that the LHR population was highly resistant, followed by the RWP, SKT and FSD populations; moreover, the mosquito populations from agricultural areas were more resistant than those from populated and industrial areas. However, the resistance map also reflected that LHR showed extremely high to high level resistance which was indicated by red to blue color whereas RWP found high to moderate resistance indicated by blue to yellow followed by SKT and FSD. The biochemical analysis showed the elevated activity of enzymes (esterases, mixed-function oxidases, glutathione S-transferase and acetyl-cholinesterase) in resistant populations. It was concluded that the injudicious application of chemicals in an area caused the risk of resistance and the reappearance and resurgence of certain mosquitoes. Further, research is needed to identify health and environmental risks and to devise an effective programme through the use of selective and specific insecticides.

Those who abused the Prophet r, and accused him of violence, slander and falsely, had never listened to the call of the mind. They should never ignore the one of the most important verses of the holy book revealed from the Creator, Allah Almighty, that Prophet Muhammad r has been sent to the mankind purely for offering mercy. How can they neglect the fact that the Prophet r himself said if he was a leader without mercy, people around him did not accompany him. When we study the life of Prophet r, we observe that all factions of the society, whether they are slaves or independent, Muslims or non- Muslims, men or women, beloved friends or worst enemies; they were behaved not only with extreme justice, but with utmost mercy. So we find that it was a mercy in everything, in education, in advocacy and in legislation, in war and peace, in the family and society, and in all walks of life, etc. In this article, aspect of mercy in the personality of holy Prophet Muhammad r has been discussed in detail. Opinions of the Orientalists are also presented in the article. Aspect of mercy was not only an ingredient of the personality of Prophet r, but He r also made mercy a part of his followers’ personalities. So history witnesses that there was an elongated reign of peace in the world, whenever Muslim Rulers were in power.

Long Run Integration of Earning Management in Capital Structure and Fama French Model: Evidence from South Asian Countries

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the role of earning measuring management and quality measures in explaining the earning informativeness that affects market value of the firm through involving volatility factors in coefficient of earnings. Moreover, this study assimilates the effect of earning management on capital structure performance and discourses the behavior of capital structure and performance relationship in the presence of earning management. Furthermore, this study also extends the three factor model, with the purpose of capturing irrational behavior of stock returns by incorporating earning management effect (information risk factor) and gearing effect (growth or liquidity factor). For analysis, the data of five countries are employed in the sample that are Pakistan, India, China, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The data of cumulative 802 companies are taken in sample for estimating market valuation through accruals and quality measures and for studying the impact of earning management on capital structure. However, for capturing irrational behavior massive sample of monthly data of cumulatively 1428 companies are employed. The sample period is from 2001 to 2013 in case Pakistan, India, and China, but in case of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the sample period is from 2008 to 2012. Based on Panel data models, the results reveal that opportunistic earning management is prevalent in all countries except Bangladesh. The opportunistic earning management has inverse effect on earning informativeness. Whereas, efficient earning management has positive effect on earning informativeness. China also depicts opportunistic behavior, which is motivated by the ROE sustainability rules of Chinese securities Regulatory Committee (CSRC). Moreover, in case of China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, high leverage brings earning management in order to reduce debt covenant violation whereas vice versa is true for India, the opportunistic earning management conveys the adverse effect on capital structure performance of the firm, as it subsidized the impact of capital structure on firm performance and also increases the earning risk. Indian firms are more exposed to earning management that adversely affect the capital structure performance and leverage decisions. The size is negatively associated with performance, which is due to the fact that firms forcefully increase size either for strategic reason, institutional reason or principle agent conflict that induces size increase and also brings asset inefficiency due to underutilization of assets. The study showed that growth or liquidity factor and information risk factor are the priced risk factors and capture the variation in stock returns. It is also identified that Chinese firms are illiquid that leads to negative WML factor, which conveys that looser stock have higher returns. This study has implication towards accounting standards, debt covenants, managers and investors, which can restrict the adverse earning management practices. Furthermore, investors can capture the information risk and can engage in more informed trading in the stock markets.
