The stability of a tunnel in rocks can be evaluated through different methods. Empirical design methods are commonly used supplemented and validated with numerical design methods to improve the stability. Each and every design method requires certain rock and rock mass parameters as input. Empirical design methods include Rock Mass Classification systems as integral part. Strength and/or stiffness parameters are frequently required for Numerical design analysis. Rock mass properties can either be determined directly or predicted, however, the direct determination is not always viable and these are generally predicted. Rock mass strength and deformability is realistically well predicted through the use of rock mass classification systems in conjunction with appropriate empirical failure criteria such as Hoek-Brown failure criterion and empirical expressions using rock mass classification systems respectively. However, the use of such relations requires right, precise and authentic input data. The thesis focuses on devising better ways and means for approximating the input parameters needed for engineering design of tunnels in rocks. The first part of this research focuses on fitting of failure criterion to laboratory data to get a suitable failure criterion for the local rock mass environment and optimize the strength parameters for numerical design purposes. The second part describes the empirical estimation of rock mass deformation modulus. The Hoek – Brown failure criterion 2002 version and its variants are fitted to full scale laboratory rock data of Kohat Tunnel as well as Diamir Basha Dam Diversion Tunnels using linear and multiple regression methods and Microsoft Excel optimization tool "Solver". Analysis shows that for majority cases/ rock types, the ―Globalized‖ variant of the Hoek – Brown failure criterion is best fit based on error of estimation. For the deformation modulus, previous equations (based on Rock Mass Rating, Q index and Geological Strength Index) are divided into 10 groups on the basis of input parameters and modeled using ―Sigmoidal‖ and ―Gaussian‖ functions in Microsoft Excel solver optimization tool. Eight new generalized equations are presented, among which, the sigmoidal function was the best. iii It is observed that the displacement values from the modeled deformation modulus (sigmoidal function based on GSI using the 2D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Phase2 tool) was very close to the actual displacement monitored in the field.

 ایمان بالآخرة یا عقیدہ آخرت ارکانِ ایمان میں سے ایک رکن ہے ، قرآن مجید میں منکرین آخرت و رسالت کو اس اہم حقیقیت کیلئے دلائل دیتے ہوئے اللہ تعالیٰ نے استفہامی اسلوب کو اختیار کیا ہے،ذیل میں عقیدہ آخرت کے بارے میں آیات استفہام پیش کی جا رہی ہیں:

۱-سورة المآئدہ میں ارشاد باری تعالیٰ ہے:

"يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أُجَبْتُمْ قَالُواْ لاَ عِلْمَ لَنَآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلاَّمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ"۔[[1]]

"جس دن اللہ جمع کرے گا سب پیغمبروں کو پھر کہے گا تم کو کیا جواب ملا تھا؟ وہ کہیں گے ہم کو خبر نہیں تو ہی چھپی باتوں کو جاننے والا ہے"۔

 ابن جریر طبریؒ اس آیت کی تفسیر سے متعلق رقمطراز ہیں:

“'وہ دن کیسا ہولناک ہوگا جس روز اللہ تعالیٰ تمام پیغمبروں کو مع ان کی امتوں کے جمع کریں گے اس دن اول سے آخر تک پیدا ہونے والے سب انسان اس میدان میں حاضر ہونگے اور سب سے انکے عمر بھر کے اعمال کا حساب لیا جائے گا اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائیں گے کہ اے نبیوں جب تم نے اپنی قوم کو دین حق کی طرف بلایا تھا تو انہوں نے کیا جواب دیا تھا؟اس سوال کے مخاطب اگرچہ انبیاء کرام ہونگے مگر سنانا امتوں کو ھوگا انبیاء کرام عرض کریں گے کہ اے اللہ! بظاہر تو ہم کو جو معلوم ہیں وہ بیان کر دیں گے مگر انکے دل میں جو کچھ ہے اسکی ہمیں خبر نہیں اس کو آپ ہی جانتے ہیں کیونکہ بیشک آپ پوشیدہ باتوں کے پورے جاننے والے ہیں ہم لاعلم ہیں اور انبیاء کرام صرف اپنی...

Analisis Strategi Bisnis Sosial Media TikTok Shop pada Masyakarat Milenial Pekanbaru

Fenomena yang terjadi saat ini banyaknya orang yang lebih suka berbelanja online Lewat Marketplace yang ada di  Media Sosial dan bersaing dengan Fitur resmi E Commerce Seperti Shoope dan Tokopedia yang mendominasi Kekuatan Bisnis di Dunia Belanja Online , Sehingga bagaimana Strategi Bisnis di Tiktok Shop dalam bertarung dalam Dunia Bisnis online di Indonesia Khususnya di Kota Pekanbaru Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang Reponden yang berbelanja di Fitu Akun Media Sosial tiktok Shop dengan menggunakan rumus Lemeshow. Ketentuan analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh Strategi Bisnis yang dilakukan oleh Fitur Media Online terhadap Keputusan Berbelanja Warga Kota Pekanbaru  lifestyle milenial, tagline gratis ongkir dan peran endorser terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion di Tiktok Shop pada Masyarakat Kota Pekanbaru Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Fhitung> Ftabel atau 61,702 > 2,70 dan nilai signifikansi (sig.) <α = (0,05) atau 0,000 <0,05. Koefisien determinasi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,658 atau 65,8%  dan 34,2% dipengaruhi oleh  faktor lain yang tidak dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini.

An Empirical Analysis of Determinants of Tax Evasion: Evidence from Asia and Latin America

This study examines tax evasion problem which erodes revenue generation for the Tax authorities and Governments in the context of Asia and Latin America. The objective of this research is to explore major determinants which influence tax evasion through cross regional comparison of Asian and Latin American regions. This research provides a framework to understand the impact of socio-economic, behavioral, institutional and political factors towards the decision of evading taxes. The study has conducted an empirical investigation of twelve Asian and eight Latin American countries further divided into regions as South Asia, East Asia and South-East Asia and Central America and South America respectively, through OLS panel regression analysis and Fixed Effect (FE) approach using dataset from 1988 to 2017 derived from WEF Annual Reports. The measures that may help tax authorities to discourage tax evasion have also been highlighted in the last part of this thesis. The study concludes that the variables of Age, corruption, low Income level, Ease of doing Business, are positively associated for all the regions with varying magnitude with the dependent variable whereas, Gender, Services income, self-employment, High income level, Marginal Tax Rate, HDI, Public Trust in Politician and Rule of law are negatively associated for different regions impact factor variations are there. However, self-assessment, agriculture income, technological readiness and accountability show mixed results both insignificant and significant for different regions. It is concluded in this study that economic and institutional factor are more strong determinants of tax evasion in comparison with the demographic factors.
