Twenty six indigenous wheat varieties (genotypes) were tested for higher yield and quality traits under the rainfed conditions of NARC, Islamabad and irrigated conditions of AARI, Faisalabad. The major goal was important to select promising genotypes for making genetic improvement in local wheat genotypes. The maximum grains per spike were found in the genotype GA 2002 (87.93) than Fakhr e Sarhad (84.20), Daman 98 (79.20) and Tatara (72.40). The best stable variety for 1000 grain weight was NARC 2009 i.e., 42.26 g than the varieties Fareed 2006 (38.96 g), Shafaq 2006 (38.18 g), Manthar 2003 (38.10 g), Miraj 2000 (37.45 g) and Tatara (37.15 g). Similarly Shafaq 2006, Fareed 2006, Miraj 2000, Manthar 2003 and NARC 2009 gave the highest yield i.e., 116.48, 115.48, 114.49, 106.31 and 105.45 kg respectively. The protein and gluten contents were best in Bahawalpur 2000 (16.40 %) and BARS 2009 (16.10 %) respectively. The cluster analyses of eight selected wheat parents for diallel (8x8) indicated that the Pirsabak-05 showed the genetic index of 0.81 in cluster 1. In second cluster Wafaq 2001, Bahawalpur 2000, GA 2002, Chakwal 50, and Lasani 2008 showed the genetic index of 0.75 (75%) and BARS 2009 predicted the genetic distance of 0.79 (79%) in third cluster. Forth cluster indicated Faisalabad 2008 with the genetic index i.e., 0.80. The gene action studied for tillers per plant, days flowering, days to maturity, spikes per plant, spikes length (cm), spikelets per spike, grains per spike, 1000 grains weight (g), grain yield (kg plot-1), protein (%), wet gluten(%), dry gluten(%), moisture(%), flour yield(%) showed partial dominance with both additive and non-additive behavior in Wr-Vr graphs (Hayman, 1954). While examining the 26 wheat genotypes, the most prevalent allele was 5x+10y at Glu- xxix D1d found in 14 genotypes, 2*x in 10 genotypes and Null in 11 genotypes at GluA1b and GluA1c respectively and 20x+20y at GluB1e in 10 genotypes. The lowest frequency of 6x+8y in 1 genotype and 13x+16y in 3 genotypes was witnessed at GluB1d and GluB1f alleles of GluB1 respectively. In the molecular analyses a total number of seventeen allele-specific STS markers were used for Glu-A3 and Glu-B3 to identify the alleles in the genotypes under study. At Glu-A3 locus, nine genotypes possessed Glu-A3b allele, two genotypes possessed Glu-A3d and six genotypes indicated GluA3g allele. At Glu-B3 locus four genotypes had GluB3d allele and two genotypes possessed GluB3b allele. Allelic frequency (relative) for Glu1 loci of 70 wheat genotypes including 8 parents, and their 56 crosses along with 6 standards was studied for high molecular weight glutenin subunits. The most prevalent allele was 5x+10y at Glu-D1d found in 44 genotypes, 2*x in 38 genotypes at Glu-A1b, 17x+18y in 31 genotypes at Glu-B1i, 2x+12y in 26 genotypes at Glu-D1a, Null in 25 genotypes at Glu-A1c. The lowest frequency of 7x in 4 genotypes at Glu-B1a followed by 7x+9y in 5 genotypes at Glu-B1c and 6x+8y at Glu-B1d was found respectively. The correlation study in 8x8 diallel study of eight parents and their F2 population at both locations (NARC, Islamabad & AARI, Faisalabad) indicated that the days to flowering, days to maturity had significant but negative correlation with grain yield (kg plot-1), spikes per plant, spike length (cm) and 1000 grain weight (g) had significant positive correlation with grain yield (kg plot-1). Dry gluten % had significant and positive correlation with 1000 grain weight (g) and significant with grain yield (kg plot-1).

صلوۃ التر اویح اور جسم انسانی
اللہ تعالیٰ نے انسان کو اشرف المخلوقات بنایا اور عظمت کا تاج اس کے سر پر سجایا۔ اس کو انبیاء کرام کے توسل سے آگاہ فرمایا کہ ہدایت کا راستہ کونسا ہے اور گمراہی اور ذلت کا راستہ کون سا ہے، اس کو اس کی پیدائش کی غرض و غایت سے بھی خبر دار کیا کہ تمہاری پیدائش کا مقصد میری عبادت اور معرفت ہے۔ جو شخص زندگی بھر اللہ کی عبادت اور بندگی کرتارہا وہ کامیاب و کامران رہا اور جس نے اس کی عبادت سے منہ موڑ اخائب وخاسر ہوا۔
دیگر عبادات کی طرح صلوۃ التراویح بھی ایک اہم عبادت ہے۔ اس کی ادائیگی سے اس کو ڈھیروں نیکیوں کا خزانہ میسر آتا ہے وہاں یہ عبادت اپنے عبادت گزار کے جسم و جان کے لیے بھی انتہائی نافع ہے۔ جملہ عبادات کا بنظر غائر جائزہ لیا جائے تو اس سے یہ بات مترشحّ ہو جاتی ہے کہ احکام الٰہی کی پیروی سے جہاں روحانی آسودگی کا سامان میسر آتاہے وہاں جسمانی اعضاء کی صحت بھی برقرار رہتی ہے۔ نماز کی ترتیب بھی حکمت سے خالی نہیں ہے۔ فجر کی نماز مختصر ہوتی ہے اور صرف چار رکعت کی ادائیگی سے مسلمان اپنے فرض سے عہدہ برآ ہو جا تا ہے۔ اور اس میں جوحکمت کارفرما ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ انسان کے جسم میں موجود معدہ خالی ہوتا ہے اور اس مختصرسی عبادت کی ادائیگی سے جسم انسانی میں کوئی گراوٹ محسوس نہیں ہوتی اور طبیعت سرور و نشاط محسوس کرتی ہے۔

As all of know that start of the revelation of Holy Qur’ān started with imperative form of the verb as it is ended with like that. This shows that the imperative mood is one of the most magnificent topics of an Arabic language، particularly in the Qur’ān context. According to the opinion of the major scholars، both the commencement and conclusion of the Holy Qur’ān were in the imperative mood. Thereupon، the scholars of Arabic language took a keen interest in study of meanings of the imperative mood whether literal or figurative. From the abovementioned point of view the following article attempts to study the meanings of imperative mood، whether they are literal or figurative، and also it endeavors along with its connotations in the light of what is stated in the Holy Qur’ān and Sunn’āh as well as in the sources of Arabic language، to lead those who recite the Holy Qur’ān to the right way، guide them to the truth and to help them in understanding of the secret meanings of Qur’ān.

Corruption, Governance and Sustainable Development: A Panel Data Analysis

Sustainable development is a new and emerging concept of development. It differs from other indices of human development that ignore environment. It has three dimensions. They are economy, society and environment. It encompasses welfare of present generations without compromising the ability of future generations. The foremost objective of this study was to construct a sustainable development index by using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method for 58 developed and developing countries in the period of 2000-2015 and then investigated the determinants of corruption, determinants of governance and determinants of sustainable development. In this study, thirty nine indicators from society, economy and environmental dimensions were selected. The index value ranges from 0 to 1, where 0 shows low sustainable development and 1 shows high sustainable development. The data of indicators used in sustainable development index was taken from World Development Indicators (WDI) and United Nations Organization Statistics (UNO Stat). Corruption was measured by Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and its data was taken from Transparency International (TI). Governance index was measured by four indices of governance by using PCA method. They were regulatory quality, political stability, government effectiveness and voices and accountability. The data of governance index was taken from World Governance Indicators (WGI). The determinants of corruption were explored against governance index, sustainable development index and other control variables. Panel Ordinary Least Squares (POLS) technique was used for exploring the determinants of corruption, determinants of governance and determinants of sustainable development. Further, removing endogeneity and heterogeneity from the model, System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and difference GMM estimation technique was used. The results indicated that sustainable development index, governance index, democratic accountability, law and order and other control variables were significant and have negative impact on corruption. The determinants of governance and its components were checked against corruption, sustainable development, law and order and democratic accountability. The results indicated that corruption has negative, while sustainable development, law and order and democratic accountability have positive impact on governance and its components. The determinants of sustainable development were investigated through corruption, governance, democratic accountability, law and order and other control variables for panel of overall economies, panel of high income and panel of low income viii economies. The results indicated that corruption has negative impact on sustainable development, while governance index and its components, law and order, democratic accountability and political globalization have positive impact on sustainable development. The policy implications from empirical findings of this study are as follows. For reducing corruption, it should improve sustainable development, governance, democratic accountability and law and order. For improving governance, the sustainable development, democratic accountability and law and order should be better, corruption should be reduce for good governance. Finally, for improving sustainable development, corruption should be reduce and governance, democratic accountability, law and order and political globalization should be improve. The future research will be targeted to construct a sustainable development index for all countries of the world and will analyze the impact of corruption and governance on sustainable development.
