پروفیسر عبد الحق کی دوسری حیثیت ایک محقق کی ہے۔ اس میں ان کی مخطوط شناسی بےحد معاون ثابت ہوئی۔ انہوں نے اقبال پر اپنا جو مقالہ تحریر کیا وہ تحقیقی تھا۔ اس کے ساتھ شیخ ظہور الدین حاتم کے کلام کا انتخاب اور پھر اس کے بعد دیوان حاتم کی تدوین، ان کا بےمثال تحقیقی کارنامہ ہے۔ آپ لکھتے ہیں:
میں حاتم کے وسیلے سے اس دور کے مطالعے پر مائل ہوا ورنہ میری دلچسپی تو
اقبالیات سے ہے۔ میرا یقین ہے کہ اس دور کی علمی اور فنی اقتباسات پر مزید غور
وفکر کی ضرورت ہے۔ شمالی ہند میں ادبی تخلیق کا یہ ابتدائی دور بے پناہ وسعتوں اور
امکانات سے روشن ہے۔ (6)
اس طرح شیخ ظہور الدین عرف شاہ حاتم پر تحقیق کا رجحان پروان چڑھا ۔ یہ کاوش پروفیسر عبدالحق کو تحقیق کی دنیا میں زندہ و جاوید رکھنے کے لیے کافی ہے۔ آپ کی مرتب کر ده ”عصری لغت“ کو بھی آپ کی تحقیق و تدوین میں رکھا جائے گا۔ اپنی اس تحقیق کے حوالہ سےآپ نے لکھا ہے کہ:
”ثقافتی علامتوں کی فرہنگ اور لفظ و معنی کے لیے مفاہیم سے آراستہ لغات کا
تقاضا پہلے سے کہیں زیادہ ہے کیونکہ متن کی تفہیم عدم توجہی سے دو چار ہے۔
وقت کی تنگی ، فاصلوں میں زیادتی ، کلاسوں سے طلبا کی بے اعتنائی اور اساتذہ کی
بے التفاتی نے گھروں کے ماحول کو دار المطالعہ میں تبدیل کر دیا ہے۔ ان بدلے
ہوئے حالات میں متون کے مطالعے کے لیے حوالے کی کتا بیں ناگزیر بن گئی ہیں
جن میں فرہنگ کی ضرورت شاید سب سے زیادہ توجہ طلب ہے“ (7)

متعہ كی لغوی تحقیق اورشرعی حیثیت تاریخی تناظر میں

This article deals with the issue of temporary marriage or "Mut'a" as is euplicated and regulated by Islamic Shariah in the early days of islam. Since those particular conditions did not prevail later, hence it became redundant. However, the term "Mut'a" has been used in the Holy Qur'an in multiple ways. Our scholarly interest focuses this particular dimension. Moreover a minor segment of Muslims still practice "Mut'a". However, the Sunni Scholars and followers have stopped practised on it. Iran e.g. still follows this temporary mode of marriage (they may opt to do so). However, according to Sunni traditions, this practice has been abolished. Hereby a scholarly investigation is done on "Mut'a", its terminology, its history its background and the particular conditionalities

How Can Teachers Questioning Techniques Enhance Students Mathematical Understanding in a Classroom

The teaching of mathematics especially in most of the Government Schools in Pakistan is done in a traditional way. This kind of teaching helps students to memorize the rules and formulae transmitted by the teacher without understanding the rationales for them. In consequence the students develop the skills to do the mathematics but lack reasoning, and thinking in mathematics. This study was designed to explore how teachers questioning skills help small sample of Government Secondary School students to develop a conceptual understanding of the concept of fraction in class seven. Using an action research approach these students were engaged in mathematical thinking by posing activities of problem-solving questions. Probing and prompting questions which provided the researcher to assess the students understanding. Data collection in this study occurred in three steps. At the pre-intervention stage semi-structured interviews and classroom observations were conducted to ascertain how students learned and were taught mathematics in their school context. During the intervention stage the researcher posed different types of questions such as Problem-solving, Open-ended, Probing and Prompting questions to develop students understanding about fraction. At the post intervention stage, an oral test was conducted in which above mentioned question types were asked to develop their thinking skills and mathematical understanding. Post interviews with the six students were conducted to get both helping and constraining factors that emerged were specific types of questioning and purposes of asking these questions helped the students to understand the concept.
