پنڈت برجموہن دتاتریہ کیفی ؔ
پچھلے دنوں یہ خبر ہندوپاک کے ادبی حلقوں میں انتہائی حزن وملال کے ساتھ سنی گئی کہ اردو زبان کے نامور ادیب ومحقق پنڈت برجموہن دتاتریہ کیفی ؔ اپنے وطن غازی آباد میں ۹۱ سال کی عمر میں انتقال کرگئے۔آپ قبل از تقسیم انجمن ترقی اردو حیدرآباد ثم دہلی کے روح ورواں اور مولوی عبدالحق کے دستِ راست تھے۔ جتنے بڑے شگفتہ نگار، ادیب اورصاحبِ قلم تھے اتنے ہی بلند پایہ زبان و ادب کے محقق ومبصر تھے۔جو کچھ لکھتے تھے کافی غوروفکر اورمطالعہ کے بعد بڑے رکھ رکھاؤ کے ساتھ لکھتے تھے۔انجمن ترقی اردو کے سہ ماہی رسالہ’’ اردو‘‘ میں اور ہفتہ وار اخبار ’’ہماری زبان‘‘ میں پنڈت جی کے مقالات بڑی دلچسپی کے ساتھ پڑھے جاتے تھے۔ان کی تصانیف میں ’’منشورات‘‘ اور’’کیفیہ‘‘ خاص طور پر بہت اہم کتابیں ہیں۔جن میں زبان و ادب کے مختلف مباحث پر بڑی محققانہ اور بصیرت افروز گفتگو کی گئی ہے اور بعض بڑے اہم نکات بیان کیے گئے ہیں۔
اردو کے ساتھ ان کو محبت نہیں عشق تھا اس کے لیے وہ بڑی سے بڑی قربانی کرنا اپنا فرض جانتے تھے۔ تقسیم کے بعد اس ملک میں اردو کی بے کسی دیکھ دیکھ کرانھیں بڑا ملال ہوتا تھا۔تاہم اس کے مستقبل کی طرف سے وہ مایوس نہیں تھے اوران کویقین تھاکہ جس طرح ہردرخت اپنی زمین میں ہی پھلتا پھولتا اور بڑھتا ہے۔ اسی طرح اردوزبان اس دیس کی زبان ہے وہ یہاں جتنی ترقی کرسکتی ہے کسی دوسرے ملک میں نہیں کرسکتی ۔اترپردیش میں اردو کوعلاقائی زبان بنانے کی تحریک کے سلسلہ میں جو دستخطی مہم ہوئی تھی۔کیفیؔ صاحب نے اس میں عملاً بڑی سرگرمی سے حصّہ لیا ۔پیہم علالت، امتدادِسن اورضعف کے باوجود وہ اردو کاکام کرنے سے کبھی نہیں تھکتے اوراُکتاتے تھے ۔

Before the prophecy of Prophet (S. A. W) the overall state of Arabs was so spoilt that even it was impossible for pedagogue and rectifier to show them the right path because it was not merely the matter of rectification of faith or preaching of right path neither to make them get rid of false beliefs nor to ameliorate the society. For the fulfilment of such type of rectification the preachers and guides are always there in the society and the reparation continues or carries on. The real muddle was to eliminate the arrogance and detrimental idolism which was so incessant generation to generation in the long run that the preaching and teaching of Prophet and the endeavor of guides were ineffective for them. It was the need of time to establish such type of shelter in which people of world could refuge in it. The remedy of this issue to bring into existence such type of human who was entirely different from the primitive human being. So Holy prophet (S. A. W) came as reformist. There are many golden aspects of prophet’s (S. A. W) reformation in a society, Makk life is also one of them. It is not only changed and revolutionized the whole of the human history but also changed political, social and moral scenario of world. Methodology which our Holy prophet adopted it was the first Methodology that respected and valued human wisdom along with being on right path. In this article the same view point has been discussed. The following are the main points: 1. Preacher’s conformity in words and deeds. 2. Clear mandate to set the target. 3. Perseverance to achieve the set goal. 4. The best policy for the betterment of society. 5. The key points for the leadership.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of fluency enhancing and fluency hampering factors in English on the listening comprehension of the Pakistani learners. English is not taught as a language in most educational institutes in Pakistan. It is treated as a subject. Naturally, its phonological aspect is badly ignored. This, later, affects the competence and performance of the learners. Before starting the research, the researcher had claimed that where the fluency enhancing features of English helped its native speakers in accelerating their verbal speed, they affected the aural comprehension of the Pakistani learners of it. Similarly, the fluency hampering factors in English also affected their listening comprehension. Based on this claim, the researcher formulated the hypothesis: Language learners who are taught listening skills with the help of fluency enhancing and fluency hampering factors of English perform better in aural comprehension than those language learners who are not taught through these factors. Using a quasi- experimental design the researcher conducted the study on two groups -one control group and the other experimental group. The design had the following stages: Pre-test treatment Post-test. The pre-test was set to assess the existing aural abilities of the members of the groups. T-test was used to know the significance or insignificance of the data. It was followed by the treatment that spanned over two months. During this period the researcher treated the experimental group with the help of eight model lesson plans, all focusing on fluency enhancing or fluency hampering factors in English. After the treatment, the post-test was conducted and the data were analyzed by using the t-test again. The results of the pre-test and the post- test of the both groups were compared. It was found that the experimental group (n = 15) achieved significantly higher score [t (28) = 10.16, p > .001] than the control group (n = 15).It was concluded that the fluency enhancing and fluency hampering factors affected the listening comprehension of the Pakistani learners of English and that students could overcome this problem if they were treated properly despite the fact that there were a number of independent variables.
