With technological advancements, modern engineering systems are improving in terms of performance, size and cost but at the expense of complexity; making their analysis and control extremely difficult. A fundamental issue regarding these systems is to ensure their safety and reliability due to their vulnerability to faults; owing to their complexity. The situation becomes even worse as the corresponding fault diagnosis algorithms are also becoming more complex and computationally expensive for the online implementation. The problem at hand is to design a simple, reliable and easy to implement fault detection and isolation scheme for these systems. One approach to design such a fault detection scheme for these complex engineering systems is to partition the system into simpler interacting subsystems and designing the desired fault diagnosis scheme for these simpler subsystems. Hybrid modeling provides us a platform to represent these complex engineering systems in simpler subsystems working collectively. Hybrid systems are those having both continuous and discrete dynamics. In these systems, discrete states are known as modes and switching between modes occurs on discrete events. In our proposed scheme, healthy and faulty modes are defined by estimating and analyzing continuous states of the system. This process of state estimation is performed by using Sliding Mode Observers (SMO). The monitoring of system modes is performed by designing a Deterministic Finite Automaton (DFA) that uses modes of the hybrid systems represented as symbols of a language, at its input. The proposed scheme is validated both through simulations and experimental data. Data for the experimental validation of the proposed scheme is acquired from an engine rig of a 1.3L production vehicle compliant with the On-Board Diagnostic II (OBD-II). Proposed scheme is easy to implement on account of being model-based. Instead of Kalman filter, SMO is used for the state estimation that is computationally cheaper. In general, there are two types of faults in hybrid systems; ones related to the current mode behavior and the others affecting the discrete evolution trajectory. In our design, we have detected both these faults using a single scheme by identifying and monitoring system modes. Moreover, detection and isolation of new faults can be easily accommodated by introducing new mode sequences in a fault set.

E-Wom, E-Trust dan Keluarga serta Pengaruhnya Terhadap Keputusan Pembelian Online Generasi Z Di Kota Pekanbaru

This research aims to identify the influence of e-wom, e-trust and family on online purchasing decisions of generation Z in the city of Pekanbaru. This research involved 120 people belonging to generation Z. Samples were taken using a purposive random sampling technique. Data was obtained through distributing questionnaires whose validity and reliability had previously been tested.  To test the hypothesis, multiple linear regression analysis, partial significance test (t test) and simultaneous significance test (f test) and determinant coefficient test were carried out. The results of data processing show that simultaneously e-WOM, e-trust and family have a significant influence on online purchasing decisions, but partially only the e-WOM and e-trust variables have a significant influence while the family variable does not have a significant influence on the Z generation's online purchasing decisions  in the city of Pekanbaru.  

Taxonomic Studies of Late-Miocene Artiodactyls Mammalia from Northern Pakistan

This study provides new assemblages of artiodactyls at the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene sites of Northern Pakistan. The Late Miocene-Early Pliocene of Pakistan has produced a rich artiodactyl fauna. The new fossils include the cranial material of artiodactyls. The diverse material presents taxonomy of artiodactyl from the Middle Siwaliks of Pakistan.The assemblages of artiodactyls from the Middle Siwalik Subgroup are dominated by the presence of the bovids. The taxa are consistent with a Late Miocene-Early Pliocene age of the deposits. More than 270 artiodactyl specimens were described in this dissertation from the Middle Siwalik Subgroup of Pakistan. Some of the specimens are reported for the first time of the Siwalik Group. The collected material comes from Padhri, Hasnot, Bhandar and Dhok Gojri of district Jhelum, Khokhar Zair, Sethi-Nagri, Dhok Pathan and Naraggi of district Chakwal, and Dhok Mila and Kaulial Kas of district Attock of Northern Pakistan. The recovered assemblage document thirty species with twenty one genera and six families of artiodactyls viz. Bovidae, Cervidae, Tragulidae, Giraffidae, Suidae and Anthracotheridae. The specimens are classified on the basis of morphometric features of the material from the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene of the Siwalik Group. This faunal list may be compared with that of other Late Miocene localities of the Siwaliks. The artiodactyl remains increasingly indicate both taxonomic and adaptive diversity. The bovids exist in open habitats during the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene of the Siwalik Group. The tragulids present in densely-forested areas and a humid and warm climate with low seasonality. The primitive cervines are inhabited woodland or open country, not closed forest. The suids occupy probably savana like environment. The anthracotheriids adopt an amphibious way of life. Most of these taxa indicate a predominance of woodland to savannah habitats with pockets of humid forested areas during the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene of the Siwalik Group.
