Technological innovations in medical imaging is revolutionizing the field of medicine by expanding from simple visualization and inspection of human anatomical struc- tures to surgical planning and simulation, intra-operative image guided surgery, ra- diotherapy planning, and for tracking the progress of disease in patients. The problem of automatic diagnoses of disease by identifying diagnostically significant information about imaged anatomical structures through medical imaging modalities has been studied by many researchers with numerous novel contributions. However, extracting clinically useful information from medical images, in automatic and robust manner through efficient and accurate algorithms for computer-based medical image analysis, is still an open and challenging area of current research. Modeling shapes for digital image processing and analysis in the context of human visual system is an area extensively explored by researchers for biomedical, industrial, and remote sensing applications. Statistical models of shape and appearance built from labeled set of training samples proved to be powerful tools for interpreting medical images. The emerging information-rich medical imaging modalities and sub- sequent higher structural complexity in imagined image has increased computational demand and need of more robust algorithms for image analysis. In this thesis, we develop a shape modeling system for sphere shape image objects using wavelets. In our shape modeling approach, we develop and integrate various simple algorithms to formulate 2D and 3D hexagonal approximation models corre- sponding to 3D sphere shape structure. We demonstrate applications of our developed algorithms to image segmentation and tracking, left ventricle shape modeling, iden- tification of end diastole (maximum filling) and end systole (maximum contraction) phases in normal cardiac cycle, and computation of left ventricle ejection fraction. Developing of fairly simple models for sphere like image objects (structures) in critical applications such as in medical image analysis is a crucial and difficult task. Our proposed regular hexagonal approximation model is insensitive to variations in size, translation, and rotation. These features are desirable in pattern recognition and machine learning applications. The results have shown the prominence of our developed algorithms over previous approaches with less computational requirements.

باب پنجم: پہاڑ وں کا مطالعہ

پتھریلی اور اونچی جگہ کے لئے پہاڑ کی اصطلاح مستعمل ہے۔ پہاڑ دراصل سنسکرت زبان کا لفظ ہے، اردو میں اس کے متبادل "کوہ، پربت اور جبل " مستعمل ہیں۔ پہاڑ دنیا میں زمین کی خشک سطح کا پانچواں حصہ ہیں۔ پہاڑ دنیا کی آبادی کے دسویں حصے کو گھر مہیا کرنے کا وسیلہ ہیں۔ دلچسپ امر یہ ہے کہ دنیا میں 80 فیصد پینے کا پانی انہی پہاڑوں میں سے نکلتا ہے۔

11 دسمبر کو پہاڑوں کا عالمی دن منا یا جاتا ہے۔ یہ عالمی دن منانے کا اصل مقصد یہ ہے کہ دنیا کو ماحولیاتی خطرات سے بچانا، قدرتی ماحول کو برقرار رکھنا، ماحولیاتی آلودگی سے بچاؤ اور پہاڑوں کے قدرتی حسن کو برقرار رکھنے کے لیے اقدامات کا شعور اجاگر کرنا ہے۔ پہاڑ عام طور پر پہاڑی سے بلند اور دشوار گزار ہوتا ہے، پہاڑوں کے مطالعہ کے علم کو "اوروگرافی" کہا جا تا ہے۔ دنیا کی دوسری بلندترین چوٹی 'کے۔ ٹو'پاکستان میں واقع ہے، جس کی بلندی 8611 میٹر ہے۔ دنیا کی 8000میٹر سے بلند چوٹیوں میں سے پانچ چوٹیاں پاکستان میں ہیں۔ دنیا کی نویں بلند ترین چوٹی نانگا پربت ہے، جس کی بلندی 8126 میٹر ہے۔

Hadith is a verbal and practical interpretation of the Holy Quran and the second great source of Islamic jurisdiction. A misunderstanding about Hadith was propagated that it was compiled in the Third Century. The scholars of the sub-continent shook off those doubts raised against Hadith with lucid arguments. The Influence of Corporate Social Responsibility on Organizational Performance: Moderating Effect of Responsible Leadership and Corporate Governance

The mixed and inconsistent findings on corporate social responsibility and organizational performance (CSR-OP) relationship have exposed the universal approach as tenuous and questionable. Scholars argued that all CSR initiatives of all the organizations, all the time cannot be rewarded and they suggested contingency approach to determine under which conditions CSR could come along with benefits. Researchers suggested the use of moderating variables to control the ambiguity surrounding CSR-OP relationship. Stakeholder theory underpins this research. This study tested the direct effect of aggregate and segregated CSR on organization’s financial and non-financial performance. It also investigated the moderating effects of responsible leadership and corporate governance on the relationship between CSR and organization’s financial and non-financial performance. Data in this study were collected from managers of 361 public listed companies in manufacturing sector of Pakistan and 179 valid responses were analyzed. This study used SEM path analysis to test the hypotheses. Results regarding the direct effects of aggregate and segregated CSR revealed that CSR significantly influenced organization’s financial and non-financial performance. The results revealed that CSR towards employees has a stronger impact on organization’s financial and non-financial performance. Moreover, findings reflected that responsible leadership and corporate governance both significantly moderated organization’s financial and non-financial performance. However, good corporate governance strengthened CSR-OP relationship whereas responsible leadership weakened this association. This research theoretically contributes to CSR stream of research. This study has strong implications for business organizations, their managers and other disparate stakeholders. In summary, findings of the study suggest that stakeholder perspective of CSR is a win-win situation for organizations and their disparate stakeholders.
