Osmotic distillation (OD) of apple and pomegranate juices was performed with membrane contactors. In the first part of the study, apple juice was concentrated through OD process using hollow fiber module. For feed-in-fiber flow set-up, final juice concentration of 47oBrix with a water permeate flux of 0.047 kg.m-2.hr-1, while for the feed-in-shell flow arrangement, final juice concentration of 52oBrix with a water permeate flux of 0.089 kg.m-2.hr-1 was achieved in a total time of 320 minutes. Fouling effect on the performance of polypropylene hollow fiber module was evaluated for pomegranate juice concentration through OD. A final concentration of 52.0°Brix with a water permeate flux of 0.186 kg.m-2.hr-1 was achieved in a total time of 310 minutes. Morphological analysis of the membrane surface and cross sections revealed that the significant pore blockage occurred due to fouling after persistent operation. However, it was found that rigorous membrane cleaning protocol, promoted higher water permeate flux. Pomegranate juice was also subjected to OD process using PVDF and PTFE membranes in flat sheet module. Wetting behavior of the membranes was evaluated through various analytical techniques. It was found that PVDF membrane had least resistance to wetting which resulted in a lower water permeate flux of 0.208 kg.m-2.hr-1 in a total time of 24 hours. On the other hand, a nice resistance to wetting was shown by PTFE membrane. A water permeate flux of 0.935 kg.m-2.hr-1 was achieved in an operational time of 24 hours. Therefore, PTFE membrane showed an ample potential for semiindustrial/industrial scale applications.

DOSE RESPONSE OF PLYOMETRIC TRAINING ON AGILITY IN CRICKET PLAYERS

Aims of Study: From last one decade, advancements in formats of cricket demand agility in the players so that they can play in better way without injury. The aim of this study was to determine which dose of plyometric training is effective to enhance agility in cricket players. Methodology: Randomized Controlled Trial was registered in US clinical Trial registry (NCT04350385). 40 cricket players were recruited in study, out of which n=20 players were placed in experimental group and n=20 players were in control group. Assessments were taken as baseline and after third week and on sixth week through Illinois Agility Run test, T test and Vertical jump test. Data analysis was done through SPSS version 23. Independent t test was used for between group analysis and paired t test for within group. Results: Group comparison through T-agility and Illinois test shows significant effect in experimental group (p>0.009). Post intervention Mean±SD of vertical jump test in experimental group was 31.90±2.55 with significant effect (p=0.001). Limitation and Future Implications: This study can be done on both genders. Players can improve their performance by working on plyometric training and agility. Originality: This was original work and never published before. Conclusion: It is concluded from this study that plyometric training is effective in improving agility of the cricket players. Players can improve their performance by working on plyometric training and agility.

Determinants of Individual Investor's Behavior and Their Impact on Investment Decision

The stock market in Pakistan is highly volatile and sensitive for unexpected shocks. In this market, the role and importance of individual investors and their trading behavior is also very critical. But there is always an environment of uncertainty and lack of information. Furthermore, the investment policies are formulated keeping in view the interests of institutional investors only. So, it becomes impossible for the individual investors to take decisions depending upon their own personal resources and complex statistical data. Therefore, the individual investors resort to other non-statistical gadgets and try to make rational decisions relying on non-statistical gadgets that are related to their behavior and psychology. In this study, the researcher has investigated the importance of these non-numeric factors for individual investors' investment decision making. The purpose of this study is to examine these determinants of individual investor's behavior as well as the influence of these determinants on the individual investor's decision. This is a quantitative research based on analytical and descriptive lines. Regression Analysis is used to determine the relative importance of each behavioral factor. This study bears great significance in recognizing the importance of heuristic and behavioral tools for investment decision making. This research is a contribution in the research paradigm from the view point of the policy makers also. It will play a significant role at the time of formulation of policies for institutional investors and regulatory bodies such as Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and at the same time retaining the interests of individual investors.
