خُود کو دیکھ رہا ہوں کیا ہے
وہ کیوں مجھ کو چھُوڑ گیا ہے
پھر دل غم سے نڈھال ہوا ہے
ہجر تعلق ، ٹوٹ چکا ہے
یاروں سے کیا شِکوہ کرنا
بس یوں ہی دل بھر آیا ہے
اِس دل کی نگری کا راجا
پتھّر ہے یا پتھّر کا ہے
اَب بُلبُل کو شب ہو جائے
کب کوئی جُگنو آتا ہے
کلی جو کھل کر پھول بنی تھی
پھول کسی نے توڑ لیا ہے
سارے پتّے زرد ہوئے ہیں
پیڑ کو کیا غم ہو سکتا ہے!
لوگ پوچھتے ہیں کیا غم ہے
رنگ ترا بھی ناصرؔ سا ہے
ساری دنیا پاس ہے صادقؔ
تو پھر بھی کتنا تنہا ہے
Civic behavior reflects the values related to individual’s attitude towards family, peer group, and neighborhood and includes the way one behaves in the society and community as a whole. The purpose of the present study is to describe what civic behavior is, its characteristics, its status in the Hadith, and the way forward for improvement of the civic behavior as guided by Sīrah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). Study implies that truthfulness, mercifulness, polite talk, helping others, respect for others, caring and sharing and promise-keeping, loyalty, sympathy, honesty, kindness, brotherhood, cooperation, fairness and unity are the core qualities that make the individual a civilized and active citizen and our Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is the embodiment of all these virtues. Descriptive approach was followed to explain and analyze the concept. First the concept of civic behavior was interpreted, then its importance and characteristics were discussed. After that it was explored in the light of the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The findings highlight that the civic behavior in its best form was preached and practiced by the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions. Each dimension was interpreted in the light of the Quran and the Sīrah. It was concluded that Sīrah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is an immaculate source of guidance and inspiration for not only Muslims but also for the whole mankind in acquiring the core values and abilities that determine the Civic behavior of an individual which ultimately results into a well-organized, peaceful and civilized society The study suggests that civic behavior of the citizens has significant impact on the formation and development of a peaceful society. It is recommended that civic behavior as reflected in the life of and practiced by the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) should be promoted and practiced for achieving a civilized social setup.
The study explored the effectiveness of Task based Instructions (TBI) approach through qualitative action research in order to enhance the oral communication skills (OCSs) focusing on fluency and accuracy in one of the main boys primary schools in the rural context of Sindh at Tando Muhammad Khan district. Grade 5 students were involved in the study of Task Based instruction through activities in order that they could use language in the real life situation. For data collection, it was gathered through different tools like classroom observations, semi structured interviews, audio recording, oral pre tests and oral post tests. The semi structured interviews were conducted from the participants before intervention in order to know about their perceptions of their English language class, teachings of speaking skills including challenges and about Task Based instruction. Oral pre tests and oral post tests were also conducted from the focused group participants in order to know about the effectiveness of Task Based instruction whether it had improved the OCSs among the students. Data that was gathered was analyzed qualitatively to explore the effectiveness of Task based instruction approach in enhancing OCSs among grade 5 students. According to the research findings the study revealed positive impacts of Task Based instruction approach in enhancing OCSs focusing on fluency and accuracy and the researcher expected that the study would definitely help other researchers, English language teachers and students understand Task based instruction approach. In conclusion, the study may inspire the English language teachers to make class learner centered by making task based activities so that the learners can be able to use the language and to enhance their OCSs.
