Green route was employed for the fabrication of stable silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) using Setaria verticillata, Cenchrus ciliaris and Azadirachta indica seeds exudates as both reducing and capping agents. The physio-chemical properties of the resulting AgNPs were investigated by employing variety of characterization techniques as UV–visible spectrophotometery; X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry. In this study, NPs were synthesized from silver nitrate and various concentrations of the seed extract by a green method. However, all the synthesized AgNPs showed quasi spherical morphology under transmission electron microscope (TEM).SV Ag-NPs are prepared by using S. Verticillata seeds exudates, their in-vitro toxicity was studied on adult earth worms (Lumbricina) resulting in statistically significant (P < 0.05) inhibition, in addition; 3-(4, 5 dimethylthiazol-2-yl) 2, 5diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay with Baby hamster kidney cells (BHK-21), revealing dose dependent cytotoxic effect of -NPs.The anti-microbial activities of the 0.75µg/ml Ag-NPs were tested against various gram-positive (Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus warneri) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter baumannii) bacteria, demonstrating efficient inhibition of pathogen growth. The sample 40SV were loaded with hydrophilic anticancer drugs (ACD) doxorubicin (DOX) and daunorubicin (DNR) for developing novel drug delivery carrier having significant adsorption capacity and efficiency in order to expurgate the side effects of the medicine, effective for leukemia chemotherapy. A. indica Ag-NPs were rapidly synthesized using an aqueous seed extract with AgNO3 solution within 30 minutes and their size ranged between 10 – 30 nm. However, the synthesized NPs showed spherical morphology with an average diameter of 13 nm when observed under transmission electron microscope (TEM). A. indica Ag-NPs showed enhanced bactericidal action against gram-positive (Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus warneri) and Gramnegative (Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter baumannii) strains compared to raw A. xi indica seed extract. However, Ag-NPs interacted with the bacterial membrane, caused cellular leakage and ultimately cell death as evident from TEM images. Moreover, AgNPs reduced congo red (CR) and methylene blue (MB) that suggests their catalytic potential in the removal of industrial organic dyes.C. ciliaris Ag-NPs are prepared by using Cenchrus ciliaris seeds exudates. Increasing C. ciliaris concentration leads to a reduction in the particle size and the agglomeration between the NPs. The results showed that synthesized Ag-NPs (1-3CC) are less agglomerated and exhibited significant antimicrobial potential against various bacterial strains compared to 4-5CC This report highlights the effect of nanocatalyst on the degradation rate of toxic contaminants, methylene blue (MB) and congo red (CR) by NaBH4 in an eco-friendly manner. In addition, Ag-NPs were loaded with anticancer drugs (ACD) [doxorubicin (Dox) hydrochloride, and daunorubicin (Dono)] to develop novel drug carrier with high loading capacity and rapid drug adsorption rate to hampered the side effects of ACD. The loading capacity of ACD was investigated as a function of contact time and adsorption dosages had a maximum adsorption capacity of 404.19 and 253.85 mg/g for Dox and Dono respectively. Moreover, kinetic models were conducted to evaluate the adsorption kineticsThe anti-microbial activities of the Ag-NPs were tested against various bacterial strains, thick wall of peptidoglycan (PG) in Gram positive strains made them less vulnerable to Ag-NPs penetration. Cell wall of Gram negative strains facilitate the entry of NPs makes difference in the bactericidal activity of Ag-NPs. However, Ag-NPs interacted with the bacterial membrane, caused cellular leakage and ultimately cell death as evident from TEM images. This work also highlights the effect of nano catalyst on the degradation rate of toxic contaminants, methylene blue (MB) and congo red (CR) by NaBH4 in an ecofriendly manner. Moreover, Ag-NPs reduced CR and MB that suggests their catalytic potential in the removal of industrial organic dyes. The current findings will provide an insight for the preparation of green bactericidal, anticancer, anthelmintic and catalytic agents that can be used in biomedical applications.

Excellence of the Holy Qur’an in the Science of Human Behaviour, Psychology

The Science of Human Behavior (Psychology) governs every facet of our lifespan. The scope of psychology is so vast that it touches all major disciplines of medical science, social science, cultural studies and humanities. It does not just connect with subjects ranging from mathematics and biology to sociology and philosophy, but its methods and discoveries help other disciplines as well. Psychology influences legal affairs and national policies, yet it primarily deals with the cognition of human nature and its relevance to the respective domain. The article is aimed to elaborate that the comprehension of human behaviour in the illumination of the Holy Qur’an is an essential need in every aspect of life such as; educational activities, social and political institutions, ethical reflection or societal choice and the method of preaching.

Synthesis of Nanostructured Materials and Their Bioanalytical Applications

The assembly of nanoparticles to form unique nanostructured materials is one of the most exciting areas due to their applications in various fields. There is a need to develop environment friendly routes to synthesize such nanomaterials with good control over the assembly of nanoparticles. In the current study, various template based methods have been developed to synthesize nanostructured materials using biologically safe approaches. In this context, natural and unmodified rhamnolipids were thermally self-assembled to form soft microtubules, which could act as a template to produce metal nanoparticles onto themselves due to the presence of rhamnose moieties at their surfaces. The porous gold/silver microwires like structures with fairly controlled nanofeatures were produced after calcination of rhamnolipids-nanoparticles composite fibers at high temperature. Moreover, rhamnolipids were used as reducing as well as stabilizing agent for the synthesis of highly stable gold and silver nanoparticles of fairly uniform size. In addition to the rhamnolipids, fungal hyphae were also used as living template to direct the organization of biocompatible gold nanoparticles, to form the fungal hyphae-gold nanoparticles composite materials. The calcination of these composites at high temperature led to the formation of porous gold microwire-like structures. The gold nanoparticles, used as building blocks, for this purpose were synthesized using tea extract as reducing and stabilizing agent. Such type of porous metal microwires might have potential applications in catalysis, sensors and Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). Template assisted highly porous metals (platinum, iron oxide) and hydroxyapatite were also prepared using polymer beads as sacrificial scaffolds. Two types of polymer templates, synthetic (polyacrylamide) and natural (calcium alginate), were used to direct the organization of metal and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles to produce organic- inorganic hybrid materials. Heat treatment of such composite materials at high temperature led to the formation of porous metals, metal oxide and hydroxyapatite materials. Moreover, the fungal biomass was incorporated inside the polymeric matrix of these beads to demonstrate the in situ synthesis of metal, especially gold and silver, nanoparticles. This provides a very simple and a straightforward strategy for the Abstract preparation of metal-polymer composite materials and ultimately porous metals after calcination. Different types of nanoparticles synthesized during present study were also evaluated to examine their role in affecting the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) efficiency. For that matter, an optimized PCR system, used for typing of Salmonella strains, was used to assess the effect of nanoparticles addition. In this study, three different types of nanoparticles were used such as citrate stabilized gold nanoparticles, rhamnolipids stabilized gold and silver nanoparticles and magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. The elimination of non-specific amplification was somehow reduced while using gold and silver nanoparticles in appropriate concentration, but there was not much improvement in PCR efficiency in terms of yield. The surface chemistry of nanoparticles was found important for their effect on PCR. For example, citrate stabilized gold nanoparticles enhanced the PCR efficiency to some degree but rhamnolipid stabilized gold nanoparticles did not change the level of amplification of same target DNA. The magnetic nanoparticles, however, were found to inhibit the PCR under similar experimental conditions.
