Generally speaking, many drugs acquire modified toxicological and pharmacological properties when they are in the form of metal complexes. The metals and their compounds have been used for medical applications throughout history. It was not until the 20th century the metal complexes began to be screened systematically for medicinal properties and the concept gained huge enhancement after the approval of Cisplatin, platinum containing anticancer drug. Working on metal complexes of already approved drugs can substantially reduce the time and money spent in clinical development. Seven Series of Copper, Zinc, Iron, Antimony, tri- and diorganotin (IV) metal complexes were synthesized by using stoichiometric amounts of various drugs. Drugs were selected from various categories in order to study their effect on the biological assay. Drugs used were Nimesulide, Ribavirin, Piracetam, Tizanidine, Cimetidine, Gliclazide, Acyclovir and Ceftriaxone. Taking in account the most commonly used NSAIDs, antibiotics and antivirals groups but the selection made was, due to the availability of the drugs and their structure’s that allowed metal coordination. FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR analysis were used for the structural assignment of the synthesized complexes. The results obtained from different analytical techniques confirmed the formation of the metal complexes. The purity of the synthesized complexes was justified by elemental analysis. All the synthesized complexes were screened for antibacterial and antifungal analysis, against medically important bacteria and fungi. Overall some of the synthesized metal complexes showed higher activity than the standard. The Toxicological activities of the synthesized complexes were studied through MTT and FRET Melting assay. In general, the copper and zinc complexes showed remarkable activity compared to organotin, iron and antimony complexes. The results of the activities of the synthesized complexes suggested that these synthesized metal complexes may be used in chemotherapy as well as bactericidal and fungicidal agents in future.

Allah Almighty has created abundance of natural resources(air, water, plants, animals) for the benefit of man. Air is considered one of the basic necessity for life on Earth.  Air pollution is a major and serious problem of the contemporary world. Rapidly spreading large crowded cities, modern transport, installation of industries and thermal power stations  are the main causes of air pollution. A large number of Industries, power-generating stations, construction projects, brick Kilns and  toxic solid wastes are polluting the atmosphere badly. The transport like buses, trucks, auto rickshaws, airplanes and internal combustion engines are main sources of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and lead pollution in the air. The toxic gases, smog and smoke of industries are affecting humane, animal and plant life rapidly. Treatment devices are not installed in industries and brick kilns  to remove harmful gases before releasing smoke into the atmosphere. This research work explores that Air pollution is the core issue of the entire world, which requires immediate action for removal of  pollution from the air. Test results of air quality indicate that major part of Pakistani population is living at the risk of air pollution. Islam clearly commands each individual to avoid negative and destructive actions. This Study explores that Air pollution can be abated and minimized by adopting Islamic precautionary measures about air cleanliness.

T-Norms Based Fuzzy Ordering and Their Applications in Fuzzy Preference Modeling

This research work focuses on T-transitive fuzzy orderings, their mathematical structures and representation results on these orderings. We have shown that the consistent nature of a fuzzy preference relation has direct relationship with its being more or less T-transitive. After handling this task, some work is done on applications of T-transitivity in the area of preference modeling. Here we have presented some new algorithms to complete an incomplete fuzzy preference relation. These algorithms are based on T-transitivity of a given fuzzy relation. This work has its roots in multi criteria and multi agent decision making. The target is to achieve a ranking among alternatives while incomplete information is provided by the judges about criteria of selection and pair wise preferences amongst alternatives. We have further extended these results to their interval valued versions where the consistent and consensus degrees are also accommodated. The theory and algorithms provided so far are then used to solve real life problems of industry i.e., the problem of supplier selection in the supply chain management where the successful implementation of the results is demonstrated.
