Algae are thaloid organisms comprising of simple photosynthetic organism having unicellular to multicellular organization. Being lower organism, little attention has been paid to document algal resources across the lakes in particular and country in general. The present study was aimed to collect, identify and ecology of the algal flora of Kalar Kahar Lake and its Tributaries. A total of 341 species distributed across 89 genera, 53 families, 29 order, 11 classes and 7 phyla were identified from the study area. Highest number of families were contributed by phylum Bacillariophyta (24), followed by phylum Chlorophyta (13 families), Cyanophyta (11 families). Overall, 32 new taxa were recorded from the study area, out of which, 29 belonged to Bacillariophyta, 02 Cyanophyta and one Chlorophyta. Species richness (SR) was highest in the Lake in July during both the years, followed by August. While in the Tributaries, maximum SR was recorded in August and July during 2010 and 2011 respectively. Overall, 2011 was rich in algal diversity in both the Lake and the Tributaries. Similarly, cell density (D) was higher in 2011 than 2010. Bacillariophyta and Cyanophyta were constantly present in all months in the Lake and the Tributaries. Chlorophyta was present in all months except November in the Lake while in the Tributaries it was absent in January, February and November. Charophyta was present in October, November 2010 and May to July and October during 2011. 12 The highest number of species (α-diversity) was recorded during 2011 from both the Lake and the Tributaries (193 and 175 respectively), followed by the Tributaries (161 spp.) and the Lake (159 spp.) in 2010. There was opposite trend in the case of beta diversity (β) in which highest value was recorded during 2010. Maximum β-diversity was recorded from the Lake (2.14), followed by the Tributaries (2.12). Highest species were shared by Lake 2010-Lake 2011 pair (122 species), followed by Tributaries 2010-Tributaries 2011 (106 species), Tributaries 2010- Lake 2010 (83) and Tributaries 2011- Lake 2011(67 species). Amongst habitat pairs, Lake 2010-Lake 2011 possessed highest similarity Index (0.69) with least β-diversity followed by Tributaries 2010-Tributaries 2011 (0.63), Tributaries 2010-Lake 2010 (0.52) and Tributaries 2011- Lake 2011 (0.36). The Shannon–Weaver index in the Lake and the Tributaries varied from 2.14 to 3.42 and from 2.47 to 3.49 respectively suggesting that the water quality is moderately polluted to clean. Based on Importance Value Index (IVI), Microcystis–Nitzschia-Cyclotella formed algal community in the Lake during 2010, while Microcystis-Cladophora- Chara in 2011. In the Tributaries, Chara-Nitzschia-Microcystis and Microcystis- Phormidium-Nitzschia constructed dominant communities during 2010 and 2011 respectively. Water quality parameters viz., temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids , conductivity, total hardness, nitrates, phosphate, sulphate, light transparency, turbidity, iron, copper, zinc, lead and nickel varied significantly (P3 <0.05) amongst all the months during 2010 and 2011. Environmental variables such as dissolved oxygen, turbidity, phosphate, nitrate and total hardness significantly affected cell density (P <0.05) in the Lake, while water temperature, turbidity, phosphate and lead significantly (P <0.05) affected density in the Tributaries. The relationship of algal species with environmental data set was determined by Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) using CANOCO software (version 4.2). Overall, environmental data sets such as nitrate, turbidity, copper, transparency, dissolved oxygen (DO) and zinc were found positively correlated in the distribution of specific taxa, while total hardness, water temperature, conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), and pH were negatively correlated for distribution of various taxa in the Lake during 2010-2011. In the Tributaries, environmental variables such as phosphate, total hardness, zinc, nickel, transparency, chlorophyll a, sulphate, lead, conductivity, TDS, copper and pH had positive relationship with algal composition during both years. DO in 2010 while nitrate and iron during 2011 exhibited negative correlation for algal distribution.

عرب عہد جاہلیت میں ’’طلاق‘‘ کا تصور: تحقیقی جائزہ

Conjugal life is an important aspect of human society, on which a prosperous life depends. Almost every Culture, civilization and religion Legislate for family life. There is a part of these laws to end the marital relationship which is denoted by "DIVORCE". Divorce is mentioned in detail in Islamic Sharia, in order to understand them truly one has to genuinely consider and understand the concept of divorce in Pre-Islamic period of ignorance. There were several specific terms for divorce that were used in the Arab culture for example Talᾱq, Īela and Khula etc. But generally decent people use the word "طلاق"(Talᾱq) to end the marital relationship. There were some common causes and reasons for divorce in Arabs before Islam for example lack of mental harmony, infertility, bigotry, family feud and apostasy etc. The divorced women become more and more vulnerable socially and economically in ancient Arab and consequently their children less attention, love and affection of their mothers turning them into rebellious, nonconformist and ruthless individuals crossing all limits of oppression and we often see examples of such incidents in Arabs before dawn of Islam. These cruel customs and practices were uprooted through teachings of Islam which is based on justice, equality and basic human rights.

Efficient Hardware Design of Elliptic Curve Point Multiplication Accelerators

In recent years, the evolution of technology has broadened the avenues of information sharing. The volume of sensitive and important information being exchanged over the insecuremediumhasincreaseddramatically. Ellipticcurvecryptography(ECC)hasbecomewidelyacceptedasanefficientmechanismtosecureprivatedatausingpublic-key protocols. The pivotal operation within ECC based crypto-systems is scalar point multiplication which is computationally expensive. Point multiplication can be achieved by iterative execution of point addition and point doubling groups operations which in turn are based on finite field arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These finite field arithmetic operations, especially the finite field multiplication are the bottleneck of any ECC based crypto-system. To reduce the computational cost of point multiplication operation, by optimizing these finite field arithmetic operations, is an active area of research. Efficient hardware implementations of Elliptic Curve Point Multipliers (ECPM) over several new platforms have been in the focal point of major research efforts for the last two decades. Field Programmable gate arrays (FPGA) due to its reconfigurable nature and less development time has become a very popular choice for hardware implementationofcryptographicalgorithms. ECPMarchitecturesonFPGAeitheronlyuseLook Up Tables (LUTs) or have utilized embedded Digital signal processing (DSP) blocks along with the LUTs. LUTs-only based designs are portable designs since they can be translated to any FPGA family or standard cell based Application Specific Integrated Circuits(ASIC).However, existingLUTsbaseddesignsareslowersincetheyarebased on finite field arithmetic components which have longer critical path delay and higher clock cycles consumption. DSP based ECPM designs may offer better performance at the cost of increased area. However, DSP based designs have portability issues. The prime objective of this dissertation is to design LUTs based high speed ECPM architectures. ThebottomlayerFp arithmeticoperationsespeciallytheFp multiplication are first optimized at both circuit level and architectural level. Subsequently, based on these optimized finite field arithmetic primitives, and by devising an efficient schedul ing strategy for elliptic curve group operations, this dissertation achieves high speed hardware architectures to perform elliptic curve point multiplication. Inthefirstcontribution,anovelhighspeedRedundant-Signed-Digit(RSD)basedECPM architecture for arbitrary curves over a general prime field is designed. It is based on a new high speed finite field multiplier architecture which employs different parallel computation techniques at both circuit level and architectural level. As a result of these optimizationstrategies, theproposedmultiplieroffersasignificantreductionincomputation time over the state-of-the-art. An efficient scheduling strategy is devised for PA andPDgroupoperationswhichreducedtherequirednumberofclockcyclesforECPM design. The ECPM architecture designed in this dissertation offers higher speed and lower area-time product than recent state-of-the-art ECPM designs. In the second contribution of this dissertation, an ECPM architecture for low area applications is developed. The ECPM design utilizes fewer resources while maintaining the competitive speed with other state-of-the-art ECPMs. The finite field multiplier developed in this dissertation offers lower area-time product than recent contemporary designs. Basedonthisfinitefieldmultiplierandapipelinedfinitefieldadder/subtractor, an ECPM architecture is designed that offers lower area-time product than recent stateof-the-art ECPM designs. The third contribution presents a high speed ECPM architecture for National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommended primes. Different strategies such as RSD representation, segmentation and pipelining are used to reduce the critical path delayandrequirednumberofclockcyclesforthefinitefieldarithmeticprimitives. The implementation results demonstrate that the proposed ECPM architecture outperforms other state-of-the-art designs in terms of speed and area-time product metrics. Finally, an ECPM architecture for the Curve448 is developed in the last contribution of this dissertation. Curve448 is recently recommended by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for future cryptography. The only existing ECPM architecture over the Curve448isaDSPbaseddesignandlacksportability. TheECPMarchitecturedesigned inthisdissertationisthefirstLUTsbasedimplementationfortheCurve448. Thedesign is optimized with a focus on both performance and resource utilization. A comparison with the state-of-the-art ECPM designs shows that ECPM design in this dissertation provides higher speed and can be adopted in time-critical applications.
