Control and manipulation of polarization state of electromagnetic waves has always been of interest in the scientific community due to its fundamental role in wide range of applications including contrast imaging microscopy, optical sensing, molecular biotechnology and optical and microwave communication. Although, conventional techniques are applied for polarization control using natural materials such as optical activity of crystals, Faraday-effect and solutions of chiral molecules such as sugar. However, such methods generally result in bulky volumes, narrow bandwidth and incidence angle dependent response which greatly limit their use for many practical applications. Therefore, scientists have explored the use of artificial structures in the form of ultra-thin metasurfaces to achieve miniaturized polarization control devices with wide bandwidth and angularly stable response. However, most of these designs achieve polarization conversion for normal incidence only, which practically becomes prohibitive, as incoming waves can have arbitrary incidence angles. Thus, metasurfaces with stable response for arbitrary incidence angles are highly desirable. In this perspective, there are two main objectives of this research thesis: firstly, to realize wideband metasurfaces achieving polarization conversion both for normal as well oblique incidence and secondly, to design metasurfaces which can achieve multiple functionalities through a single structure. The first three metasurface designs presented in Section I achieve angularly stable (maximum up to 60o) wideband cross-polarization conversion in reflection mode. The cross-polarization conversion is achieved through anisotropy of the unit cell while the bandwidth is extended through multiple plasmonic resonances. Multifunctional metasurfaces are presented in Section II. These metasurfaces are extremely desirable in practical applications as they can replace multiple optical components, thus miniaturizing size and reducing the cost of the overall system. The first of the multifunctional metasurfaces presented in this thesis, not only transforms linear and circular polarization to their corresponding cross polarization, but also achieves linear-to-circular and circular-to-linear polarization conversion in different frequency regimes.Thus, it exhibits both half- and quarter-wave plate operations in different frequency bands using an ultra-thin bilayer anisotropic metasurface. The final design presented in this thesis is based on a flexible single layer anisotropic metasurface manifesting both quarter-wave plate and half-mirror (1:1 beam splitter) operation.

افسوس ہے ابھی حضرت مجاہد ملت کے ماتم کے آنسو خشک بھی نہیں ہوئے تھے کہ ملت اسلامیہ کے لیے ایک دوسرا حادثۂ جاں گداز پیش آگیا اورطریقت و معرفت ربانی کاآفتاب غروب ہوگیا۔حضرت مولانا شاہ عبدالقادر صاحب رائے پوری اکابر مشائخ دیوبند کے سلسلہ کی آخری کڑی تھے۔عمر کم وبیش ۹۰برس کی پائی۔مگرچاربرس پہلے تک قویٰ بڑے اچھے تھے اور انڈوپاک کے ہزاروں مسلمان بقدر استعداد اس سرچشمۂ روحانیت وانابت الی اﷲ سے مستفید ہوتے تھے۔ آپ کااصل وطن گرداسپور تھا۔آغاز شباب میں ہی مرشد کی تلاش میں نکل پڑے اورآخر حضرت مولانا شاہ عبدالرحیم صاحب رائے پوری جوحضرت مولانا گنگوہیؒ کے خلیفۂ خاص اوراکابردیوبند میں ایک ممتاز ورفیع مقام کے مالک تھے، اُن کی خدمت میں پہنچ کر گوہر مقصود پالیا۔چنانچہ آپ اس درگاہ قدس سے ایسے وابستہ ہوئے کہ پوری زندگی یہیں گزار دی۔تقسیم کے بعدہی مشرقی پنجاب میں جوطوفان امڈا اُس نے کتنی آبادیوں کوویرانہ بنادیا۔مگر شاہ صاحب تھے کہ اپنی جگہ پرکسی قسم کے خوف وہراس کے بغیر جمے رہے اوراس کااثر یہ ہواکہ اس نواح کی تمام مسلمان آبادی محفوظ رہی۔ مشائخ دیوبند کی ایک عام خصوصیت ہے سلوک ومعرفت کے اعلیٰ مقام پر فائز ہونے کے ساتھ شریعت کے احکام واوامر اورسنت واسوۂ نبوی کامکمل اتباع اوراس سے انحراف کاکسی حالت میں بھی روادار نہ ہونا۔یہ صفت حضرت مرحوم میں بھی بدرجۂ اتم موجود تھی۔ اس عام خصوصیت کے علاوہ ہربزرگ کے کچھ اپنے خاص احوال وکوائف ہوتے ہیں اوراس کا سبب یہ ہوتاہے کہ کمالات واوصاف نبوی میں سے اُس پرکسی خاص ایک وصف کاغلبہ ہوتاہے۔مثلاً کسی میں صفت علم غالب ہوتی ہے اورکسی پرصفت خلق، کوئی شان جمالی کا مظہر ہوتاہے اورکوئی شان جلالی کا۔اس اعتبار سے شاہ صاحب پرصفت فقرواستغناء،سادگی وبے تکلفی اورصفت محبت کااستیلا تھا۔محبت خود اپنے اندر مقناطیسی کشش رکھتی...

غلام رسول سعیدی ؒ کے ترجمہ قرآن کا چھ مختلف تراجم سے تقابل (ایک تحقیقی و تنقیدی جائزہ)

The Quran is the last book of Allah. The Quran was revealed in Arabic. The Qur'an was not revealed only to the Arabs. This book has been published to guide all Human beings. There for, translation of the Quran is necessary for non-Arabs. The translation of the Quran was started in the beginning of Urdu language. So far there have been many translations of the Holy Quran in Urdu . I have compared Allama Saeedi's translation of the Qur'an with other translations in this article. I have proved in this article that their translation is an extension of the Quran, the Barelvi school. Their translation is often matched by professional translation in many places. Barelvi School has original (genin), translation, Quran, Maulana Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi and Allama Syed Mohammad Kachochvi. This work of mine is unique in its investigation  of Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi. In my opinion, resding the Qur’an is essential for the understanding of the Qur’an in order to understand the Qur’an but also the study of translations that have a distinct identity and they have been the study of our teachers.
