Renewable energy based Distributed Generation (DG) resources are crucial for sustainable energy supply infrastructure as they are non-polluting and inexhaustible. The uncertainties associated with DG resources may cause distinct economic and technical challenges which require comprehensive investigation to facilitate their integration in Distribution System (DS). Generally, DG planning studies are conducted while assuming constant generation and load models. However, such assumptions may result in misleading and inconsistent values for voltage profile, loss reduction, payback period, deferral values, and other relevant calculations. Therefore, to achieve accurate and realistic results, it is necessary to consider variations associated with generation and load. This thesis presents time varying load modeling and probabilistic solar irradiance modeling techniques and investigates their impact on Photovoltaic (PV) based DG planning. A novel Beta distribution based probabilistic generation model is proposed for solar irradiance uncertainty modeling to compute the hourly output power values produced by PV based DG. The beta distribution parameters are found by assuming the variations of irradiance patterns at consecutive time steps. Subsequently, the proposed model is employed to generate various solar irradiance generation scenarios. Then, a time varying load modeling approach is presented for PV based DG planning.Five different types of time varying load models (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, mixed and constant) are considered. These loads are modeled by combining the time varying characteristics of residential, commercial and industrial loads with the voltage-dependent load model while assuming suitable voltage exponents. The application of these load models make the PV based DG integration more realistic as compared to the conventional model. Furthermore, a methodology has been developed to determine intermittent DG allocation for DS while considering varying load and generation. The objective is to minimize the multiobjective optimization function which involves voltage deviation, active and reactive power loss indices. Finally, the impact of time varying load modeling approach on DG integrated DS performance has been investigated. The proposed DG planning framework has been validated on IEEE 33-bus and 69-bus standard distribution test systems in MATLAB environment. A comparative assessment of different impact indices, penetration level, active and reactive power intake, active and reactive power loss and MVA support offered by the installation of PV based DG for different time varying load models has been performed. The results demonstrate that the proposed generation model is suitable for solar irradiance modeling. Moreover, time varying load modelling approach has a significant impact on DS planning studies under uncertain scenario.

EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA POWER POINT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS III SD INPRES PARANG MAKASSAR

This study aims to (1) examine the learning outcomes of students' reading comprehension in class III SD Inpres Parang Makassar using power point media; (2) assessing the learning outcomes of students' reading comprehension in grade III SD Inpres Parang Makassar without using power point media; (3) examining the effectiveness of power point media to improve learning outcomes for reading comprehension of third grade students of SD Inpres Parang Makassar. This study used an experimental research design with a posttest only control design. The population of this research is the third grade students of SD Inpres Parang Makassar. The data that had been collected were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and parametric inferential statistics type T Test that were processed using the SPSS version 20 windows computer program. The results of hypothesis testing show that (1) the value of t-count shows the number -9.708 with sig. (2 tailed) = 0.000. At the 95% significance level with 46 degrees of freedom. Because the significance value or p-value <0.005, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected or in other words the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class in the learning outcomes of students in class IIIB SD Inpres Parang Makassar. The use of power point media to improve students' reading comprehension learning outcomes of SD Inpres Parang Makassar is more effective using power point media. This can be seen from the t-test calculation of -9.708 with db = 46 at the 5% significance level. These results indicate that the price p = 0.000. The p value is less than 0.05.

Fixed Frequency Sliding Mode Control for Parallel Inverters in a Microgrid With Distributed Generation

With the growing electricity demand and environmental challenges, integration of the high penetration distribution generation (DG) into the utility grid is utmost important to improve the grid efficiency. Microgrid helps in facilitating the penetration of various DGs in the distribution network, while ensuring efficient, reliable and resilient operation in an islanded mode during a utility outage. However, the power electronic interface with DG units needs robust control techniques that can achieve high performance in all the loading conditions and conditions at the utility grid. Microgrid contains a cluster of loads along with DG units operating as a unified controlled system. Interconnecting DGs with a grid using power electronic converters has increase concerns regarding safe operation and protection of the equipment. Many control strategies have been proposed for enhancing the stability of microgrid for proper load sharing. However, these controllers have problems of slow dynamic response, disturbance to uncertainties and weak tracking of the references. Therefore, this work proposes new approaches using nonlinear control technique based on the sliding mode control (SMC) for an islanded mode as well as grid-connected mode of operation. Fixed Frequency Sliding Mode Voltage Control (FFSMVC) technique is developed for single and parallel voltage source inverter (VSI) in islanded mode, to maintain the quality of the output voltage of the DG system despite unbalanced and/or non-linear load currents. Fix frequency slide mode control is efficient in reducing the chattering phenomena, which otherwise call unnecessary harmonics and power loss in the system. Further, this controller improves the steady state and dynamic response under sudden load fluctuation. Droop control approach is investigated to guarantee the accurate power sharing among DG units in parallel operation. Fixed Frequency Sliding Mode Current Control (SMCC) approach is adopted for the grid-tied mode, where the controller works as a current controller. The proposed controller effectively abandons the grid voltage disturbances and the parameter uncertainties. Furthermore, PQ sharing control is designed for the parallel operating of DG units by delivering available power to the grid side in order to ensure power-sharing requirements. Both controllers have been simulated in the real-time domain of Simulink/MATLAB environment. Finally, the performance of the proposed FFSMC is compared with the classical proportional integral (PI) controller. The simulation results show the Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) of the output voltage of 0.86% and 1.54% for FFSMVC, and 1.82% and 6.84% for PI controller under linear and nonlinear loads respectively. The results also validate that the proposed control technique is quite effective due to its robust response and less sensitive to external disturbances.
