Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an emerging treatment modality that employs the photochemical interaction of three components. These are light of suitable wavelength, photosensitizer, and singlet oxygen. The main objective of this work is the determination of pharmacokinetics of different photosensitizers after laser irradiation in different biological samples like cell lines and tissues to improve the efficacy of PDT. Present study investigates the dynamic behaviour of different photosensitizers under laser irradiation e.g. (a) biodistribution of Photofrin® (b) laser induced effects (c) depth of necrosis under exposure of different wavelengths of light sources (d) synergistic effect of toxicity of ZnO nanostructures bare and conjugated with photosensitizers like Aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), Photofrin® and protoporphyrin dimethyl ester (PPDME) determined for the treatment of localized cancer cells. Firstly, biodistribution of Photofrin® into Sprague Dawley rat has been investigated by methodology for radiolabelleing of Photofrin® with labelling efficiency of Photofrin® with 99m Tc. In addition, it was explored that 99m Tc is more than 95%. The current technique is simpler and efficient as compared to the earlier published protocol. In the second part of this experimental study, different photosensitizer‟s uptake was explored in the in vitro model e.g. different cell lines (HepG2, RD, Hep2C, AG1518 and FM55P). Study of optimal dose of laser, cellular totoxicity and phototoxicity were also the part of our experiment. The third aspect of study relates to in vivo study, normal rat liver were treated as biological sample, PDT under illumination of different wavelengths of light (630 nm, 660 nm, 600 nm and its alternate combinations) has been performed and proved that effectiveness of 630 nm of wavelength is more efficient for depth of necrosis as compare to other wavelengths of light source. Finally, the synergistic effect of toxicity of zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) conjugated with 5-ALA, Photofrin® and PPDME was determined for the treatment of localized cancer cells. Cell toxicity due to microinjection and free standing drug delivery was observed by detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS) liberation, and verified by MTT assay. It is successfully demonstrated that UV-A irradiation increased toxicity and caused significant production of ROS which leads to cell necrosis within few minutes. Zinc oxide nanorods are toxic for both normal as well as malignant cells under exposure of ultraviolet (UV) containing 240 nm of wavelength.

پروفیسر محمد نعیم الرحمن مرحوم ریڈر شعبۂ عربی و فارسی الہ آباد یونیورسٹی کی وفات علمی حلقہ کا بڑا المناک سانحہ ہے، مرحوم مشہور مصنف و مترجم مولوی خلیل الرحمن صاحب مرحوم صاحب اندلسیات کے خلف الصدق اور خود ممتاز صاحب علم اور علم و فن کے خدمت گزار تھے، عربی، فارسی اور انگریزی کے علاوہ فرنچ اور عبرانی سے بھی واقف تھے، عربی زبان سے ان کا تعلق محض درس و تعلیم تک محدود نہ تھا، بلکہ ان کو اس کا ذوق اور ان میں اس کی خدمت کا جذبہ تھا، انجمن عربی صوبہ متحدہ کے معتمد اور اس کے سرگرم کارکن تھے، انھوں نے الہ آباد یونیورسٹی میں عربی کی اہمیت اور مسلمان طالب علموں میں اس کا ذوق قائم رکھا، بہت سے علمی اور تعلیمی اداروں کے رکن اور ممبر تھے، تصنیف و تالیف سے بھی ذوق تھا، متعدد کتابوں کے مصنف، مترجم اور مرتب تھے، عربی و فارسی کی بہت سی درسی کتابیں لکھیں، ان کی قلمی یادگاروں میں مورخ عبدالواحد مراکشی تمیمی کی ’’المعجب فی تخلیص اخبار المغرب‘‘ کا اردو ترجمہ خلافت موحدین خصوصیت کے ساتھ لائق ذکر ہے، مرحوم کی عمر پچپن چھپن سال سے زیادہ نہ تھی اور صحت ایسی تھی کہ مشکل سے پینتالیس سال کے معلوم ہوتے تھے، چند مہینے بیمار رہ کر، ۲۷؍ فروری کو انتقال کیا، اﷲ تعالیٰ اس خادم علم کو نعیم جنت سے سرفراز فرمائے۔ (شاہ معین الدین ندوی،اپریل ۱۹۵۰ء)

Almighty Allah created Ãdam and made each and every thing of this Universe in his order to take interest and use it well. But he also made some laws also to follow that he can avoid many mishaps. He sent Prophets for proper guidance of mankind and empowered them with Books containing the laws and instructions according to the need of hours. But Islam is the complete code of life and it has to remain in the world till the last day the Day of Judgment. Islam protected the life and honor of men & women in each and every stage of life. Islam has given all the rights to a woman which a man enjoys at any stage of life. Islam is the supporter of equality among the all human beings and wants to reduce differences made by men themselves so it allows relationships between followers of all religions. Especially among religions. So allowed to get merry with women of other religions like Jews & Christians, the followers of sacred books. By this action it wants to reduce gap among human beings. Islam also allows those women who got married with Muslims to act in their personal lives according to their own religions.

On Generalization of Inequalities for Monotone Functions

The thesis comprises of generalized inequalities for monotone functions from which we deduce important inequalities such as reversed Hardy type inequalities, general- ized Hermite-Hadamard’s inequalities etc by putting suitable functions. The present thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter includes generalized inequalities given for C-monotone functions and multidimensional monotone functions. As a result of these inequalities, we de- duce reversed Hardy inequalities for C-monotone functions and multidimensional re- versed Hardy type inequalities with the optimal constant. Furthermore, we construct functionals from the differences of above inequalities and gives their n-exponential convexity and exponential convexity. By using log-convexity of these functionals we give refinements of these inequalities. Also we give mean-value theorems for these functionals and deduce Cauchy means for them. The second chapter consists of inequalities valid for monotone functions of the form f /h and f /h. These are also very interesting as by putting suitable functions we get one side of Hermite-Hadamard’s inequality and generalized Hermite-Hadamard’s inequality. Similarly as in the first chapter, we make functionals of these inequalities and gives results regarding n-exponential convexity and exponential convexity. Also we give mean value theorems of Lagrange and Cauchy type as well as we obtain non- symmetric Stolarsky means with and without parameter. In the third and the last chapter we consider Petrovi ́ type functionals obtained from c Petrovi ́ type inequalities and investigate their properties like superadditivity, sub- c additivity, monotonicity and n-exponential convexity. Also at the end of each chapter we discuss examples in which we construct further exponential convex functions and their relative properties.
