Remote sensing technology and it’s applications are rapidly advancing. The algorithms and techniques for processing of remotely sensed images has thus become increasingly important and is an area of active research. Recently, a lot of research has been conducted in the domain of classification techniques of remotely sensed imagery. Classification techniques extract useful features from the remotely sensed data and then categorize it into different categories. This thesis proposes classification techniques for different applications in remotely sensed imagery. The first technique is a novel method for pixel classification. The proposed method exploits the spatial information of image pixels using morphological profiles produced by structuring elements of different sizes and shapes. Morphological profiles produced by multiple structuring elements are combined into a single feature by decimal coding. The advantage of proposed feature is that it can effectively utilize the potential of multiple morphological profiles without increasing the complexity of feature space. The second technique deals with the classification of image patches. The work is presented in the context of image retrieval framework of multispectral image patches. The proposed retrieval method is based on the combination of sparse coding and global image features. The third technique is for segmentation and change classification of built-up area in high resolution imagery using logistic regression. The research was conducted on multi spectral multi temporal images covering the 2010 floods in Pakistan. Segmentation was performed to extract the built up area from the satellite images and then change detection was performed to find the damaged built up area. The damaged area was classified into three categories basing on the extent of damage. The results of change classification were compared and found consistent with the manual assessment report produced by experts of United Nations using Worldview 1 satellite imagery with sub meter resolution. The fourth and the last technique is for regularized classification of changes using elastic net and high dimensional change feature vector comprising spectral, textural and structural changes. The proposed schemes were tested with simulated as well as real life multispectral and hyperspectral remotely sensed datasets. The multispectral dataset comprised of high resolution images with ground resolution of 2.5 meter. The performance was validated using authentic and publicly available ground truth data using standard performance measures. Qualitative and quantitative comparisons have been drawn with state of the art classification schemes and significant improvement is reported.

Reflections on the Economy of Asean Countries in the Face of the Covid-19 Pandemic

This article discusses the Economic Reflections of Asean countries in facing the Covid-19 Pandemic in several Asean countries, namely Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. Vietnam's economic growth was victorious, the economies of various countries in other Southeast Asian regions were battered by the corona virus. The process of economic growth is influenced by two kinds of factors, namely economic factors and non-economic factors. Economic factors, which are none other than production factors, are the main force affecting economic growth. Malaysia has proven to the world community that its country is capable of managing its economy even in challenging circumstances. He quoted the IMF as global economy recorded negative growth and in Indonesia it seems that contraction in income activities in some income classes is affected. In the second quarter there is a slowdown, then in the third quarter the savings are enormous. It could be that consumption, which has been a factor in economic growth, will be a challenge. In an effort to maintain economic stability during the Covid-19 pandemic. This reflects that the economies of ASEAN countries, even in the world, are currently under the same pressure due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, the world economy this year will experience a recession.

Molecular Study of Lmbr1 Gene in Limbs Deformed Individuals from Bahawalnagar

LMBR1 gene is consisted on a protein membrane and in human body it is re responsible for the limb development. As it is the promising gene for the limb development so recently many research is in process for exposure of potential application of this gene. The rapid increase of limb deformation in humans has led to more interest on the study of this gene from researcher and scholars. In this study we had taken the blood samples of 42 individuals including two families of limbs deformed were collected, age range of the patients was from 3 years to onwards, and had symptoms from moderate to severe from different areas of District Bahawalnagar. Physical sings were used as the selection criteria. 3.5-4ml venous blood was drawn and stored into 50ml tube containing 400?l EDTA, labeled with code number. The results obtained through different characterization e.g. (inorganic method, DNA estimation, sequencing of PCR product and electrophoresis) for LMBR1 gene exon 3 and 4. Thermo-cycler programs for the amplification of primers were not show any mutation in premier exons. Gel was visualized and in trans-illuminator and hence to ensure the amplified product. No further mutation has been observed in DNA strand. The DNA strands shows similar behavior of LMBR1 exon 4 and 3 for effected and normal individual. The mutation in this specified LMBR1 gene is not responsible for Limb deformity. Therefore LMBR1 gene is not accountable for any mutation caused limb deformity in an individual.
