This study sought to find out the effect digital disruption has had on the Daily Nation Newspaper, while also looking at the strategies the publication has put in place to ensure its survival. The study was guided by the following: (a) The changes and challenges posed by digital disruption on the newspaper and how this has affected its operations, (b) The strategies employed by the newspaper to respond to disruption and (c) The effectiveness of these survival and growth strategies. The study was guided by two theories – Disruption Innovation Theory and Media Economics Theory. The researcher used a Qualitative Research Approach, with the research design being a case study. The researcher employed in-depth interviews as data collection methods. The respondents for this study were experienced journalists and editors, who shared their experiences, while in the newsroom on how the disruption manifested itself and how the newspaper adapted to it. The findings of the study were varied. Briefly, they include Daily Nation’s intent on changing how they report their stories – with the main idea being coming up with exclusives and in-depth stories that consumers can pay for, the publication’s focus on retraining key staff, including hiring individuals with key digital skills to navigate this new dispensation, encouraging skill development and hiring multi-skilled employees. From the findings, it is clear that the future of newspapers is going digital. The researcher recommends that Daily Nation, however, needs to further scale up the publication of more exclusive content. The publication should equally explore new ways of telling its stories as well as invest more in improving technology used to deliver its information. But this process should be gradual. From the study, it is clear that diversification of revenue sources is the way to go. Business wise it sounds a great idea, but ethically, what should the media house do when one of the sponsoring organization is caught up in a scandal? This is an area future researchers should explore.

The word pricing is one of the four Ps of Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Place and Promotion) and the most important and attractive one as it bears profit and income for producer and employee. Using various pricing strategies, a rate is fixed for a product or service in order to get suitable profit. If it is not taken care, the business or service may cause you loss financially. Like this term is used in production, it is also practiced in services in order to determine inflation rates and fixing daily wages and monthly salaries, for which various pricing strategies and arithmetic formulas are used. In this paper I have come up with introduction of Pricing in Modern and Islamic perspective and then limiting the topic to pricing in services, I discussed various Shariah issues of Pricing in services in the light of Quran and Sunnah.

The Role/Application of Particle Swarm Optimization for Intruder Detection and Rescue Plans in Unmanned Underwater Vehicles

In light of the development in computer controlled tools and expansion of integrated computing applications, lots of controller functions are turning to programming applications. In this study in view of a sea port security, an intrusion detection technique based on developed actuator model with the help of a controlling methodology dependent strategy has been designed. This research work gives simulation results on controlling of Underwater Unmanned Vehicles with the formation control of underwater swarm robots based on Assisting Mechanism Theory (AMT) and Integrated control Model (ICM). Such organization is really important in enhancement of surveillance, path planning, intruder and obstacle detection and error congestion in communication to remove uncertainty. The performance of ICM depends on complete swarm robot model to identify actuators. The ICM is responsible for development of swarm robot algorithm for movement control to guarantee surveillance, ensuring localization and detect intruders with the wipe-off of communication issues of the self-organized and decentralized behavior of multipurpose Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) from the beginning time instance. This approach is also very helpful in serving as reference model for detecting multiple intruders and also in assisting mechanism theory of multiple Underwater Unmanned Vehicles. Such ICM controllers are prepared and compared with the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers in a diversity of simulations and gathered reaction found 12.37%, 8.69% and 12.09% better based on thrust produced in the propellers for surveillance.
